+I WILL NOT add you back if I don't know who you are. So please, comment on here and tell me why I should friend you to begin with.
+If you hardly update your journal or comment on mine, I will remove you from my flist.
+If you are comment-dependent, it's better not to add me. I don't have time to read entries daily or even weekly and will only comment if I have something meaningful to say. I expect the same for my journal.

Still sore from standing for 9 hours and being trampled on but it was totally worth it.

Finally saw SID live. <3 I managed to make my way one away from the rail and saw Aki in all of his bass whoring glory. Sure, I was destroyed by rabid fangirls but every bruise was worth it. Oh Aki-sama... you truly are not a beautiful figment of my imagination.
SID playlist
Uso Natsukoi Drama Watashi wa Ame
Only 4 songs, but seeing BREAKERZ (omfg Daigo Stardust~~! So much prettier irl), Girugamesh, MUCC and VAMPS made it even better. And I'm sure that someone has already announced it but the new 'band' Karasu was a huge surprise (Hiroto from A9, Tatsuro from MUCC, Kenzo from Ayabie, dunch from jealkb and Mizuki from Sadie). They were pretty fucking amazing and I can't wait for their single LASTICA to be released.
Ah, and on an aside, we also visited ALCATRAZ, a crazy prison/hospital bar:

And the Vampire Cafe, which was so many levels of amazing:

I heart Japan.

After 56 days, I finally have my laptop back.
Here is my horror story:
December 15th --> I take my laptop in for repairs.
January 5th --> I call BestBuy and some idiot on the other line says, "Oh, we completely forgot about it! ^0^v"
January 18th --> Another idiot calls and tells me that my laptop is getting sent out on January 21st.
February 5th --> Someone calls from HP and asks how my laptop is working. I tell him that I don't even have my laptop. I call BestBuy. Someone picks up at 8:55 PM after an hour of straight calling (redial is my friend). He doesn't know where my laptop is and tells me to call the next day and talk to the manager.
February 6th --> I call BestBuy, no one picks up for half an hour. I get fed up and call the 1-866 customer service line. They inform me that BestBuy shouldn't have even kept my laptop at all -it should have been sent to HP right away. They call BestBuy and lo behold, not only do they get through right away but my laptop is there. It arrived on the 5th at 10:47 AM. And yet that idiot the previous day said he didn't know where it was? WHAT THE FUCK? I AM PISSED.
February 8th --> Before I pick up my laptop, I call the store manager. He apologises and tells me that he doesn't know why BestBuy had my laptop for so long and offers a $50 giftcard. My friends go with me to go pick it up and argue with the manager that he should give me more (I love my friends). Unfortunately, no dice.
I have my laptop. Surprisingly, everything is still on it! And yet when those fuckers called on the 18th of January, they said that they could only get 9 GB out of 17? HP said that BestBuy didn't really know what they were doing and recovered everything.
Final words:
I am back
and
FUCK YOU BESTBUY. Seriously, do not buy ANYTHING worth a lot of money from there. I was warned, I chose not to heed it, and I paid the price. UGGGGGGGGGGH...!!!
Now spam me with welcome back comments to make me happier that I have my baby back!

Yesterday, I was sitting in my office and working with a database I had just created when Erin, who works in our building, came in.
"Do want Bon Jovi tickets for tonight?" she asked calmly. "I have two and they're free." I stared at her for a moment. "Bon Jovi?" "Yeah, like the band." "The real Bon Jovi?" "Yeah, the real Bon Jovi." "Here?" I couldn't believe it. I refused to believe it. "Yeah." "Tonight?!" "Yeah." Unsure of what was going on, I replied mechanically, "...Yeah, for sure! Yes! Thanks!"
I was in too much shock to freak out. These tickets were over $100 each and I got a pair of them for free. I had been trying to get the tickets for when they came during the summer but it was way too expensive.
The concert, by the way, was fucking AMAZING.
Songs I loved: 1. You Give Love (a Bad Name) 2. Wanted: Dead or Alive (I completely freaked out when they played this -it was the last song for an encore) 3. Have a Nice Day 4. Bed of Roses 5. It's My Life 6. Runaway 7. Livin' on a Prayer
The best part was when they came out for an encore and played, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" (Santa came out and threw goodies into the audience, Jon wore a Santa hat, which was so adorable) and "Jingle Bell Rock".
I'm so happy~!
EDIT: WTF @ MUCC and D'espairsRay coming to Edmonton (MY CITY, DAMMIT) when I'M IN JAPAN?!

Okay, back home. Sigh. Wish I was still in LA. I put off reporting this for a while since I've been running around screaming my head off, basically.
Anyway, the concert.
( Report In Here )
Unfortunately, after the concert, Danielle and I were forced to sleep in the car because the hotel room was completely full of morons. Mmm... in the morning we hung out with some people and I saw Jackie (oh, she's such a sweetheart). Met some of Danielle and Jen's friends, who were sweet. Went to Book-Off, which is the best damn thing that exists. I got the first press of Buck Tick's One Life, One Death for $15!!! And then I saw something dangerous. Something beautiful. Buck Tick's B-T Picture Project. I WAAAANT. But it was $120. Not happening.
Danielle took me to Hollywood, which was very... bright. Hahaha. And then we went to the beach at 1 AM. I frolicked in the ocean, which was haunting and overwhelming at night. The dark ocean melded with the black sky and you couldn't tell where the end was and you wouldn't be able to tell how far or close you were to the mass of water if it wasn't for the white, frothy waves. But I was scared, to be honest, and I saw a dead seal on the shore. :(
Well... I think that's all there was... I got to the airport on time!
Uhm, I'm tired now. I'll try to catch up on journals.

A destroyed wheelchair sits north of the intersection at 44 Avenue and 34 Street Saturday night after the man in the wheelchair and a woman walking were hit by a car. The man in the wheelchair died Sunday of his injuries.
A 27-year-old paraplegic is dead after he was hit struck by a car in a crosswalk Saturday night.
Charges are pending against a 30-year-old male driver, who struck the man’s wheelchair and a second female pedestrian while they crossed the intersection of 44 Avenue and 34 Street around 8:30 p.m.
Speed was a factor, police said. Alcohol was not.
The collision flattened the victim’s wheelchair, snapping off one of its wheels. A woman in her sixties was also injured and is in hospital with a leg injury.
Edmonton police spokesman Dean Parthenis said traffic investigators are still putting together their case against the driver.
The paraplegic victim and woman were not related, police said, but knew each other in passing from riding public transit together.
An autopsy on the victim will be scheduled early this week.
The tragedy marks Edmonton’s third traffic fatality of 2007.

I put off buying a new laptop because I knew Microsoft Vista was coming out. Today, I decided to check out a couple and fell in love with an adorable 14" HP notebook, which is a perfect size for me. However, the price is daunting and it's brand new, which means that it hasn't really been reviewed online yet.
After checking out the reviews for different brands, I discovered that Mac computers rule all. As much as I don't really want a Mac (I don't understand how it works and I don't want to shell over $200 for a Vista program for it), it's the most durable and reliable laptop. Not to mention nasty viruses can't get near it.
I guess I am willing to pay extra for a really good laptop, as long as it lasts me as long as my desktop has (a shitty emachine still holding strong for its seventh year -and if it ever had viruses, I haven't noticed).
I've also been eying an Acer, because it's a fantastic price for its specs. Although Acer is kinda a crap brand (you know, it's like a shirt from Wal-Mart as opposed to... Urban), not many people have complained about it. The making is apparently shitty, though.
I already know that I'm not interested in Dell or Sony, from all of the horror stories I've heard from people. Most of my friends are happy with Toshibas, but for the size I want, the price is astronomical.
Sigh. Stress.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Okay, I was worried about the album after hearing certain singles and then the subsequent title, which made me question whether or not someone in Diru had been reading medical textbooks for no reason whatsoever.
"Did you know that bone has marrow in it?"
"Marrow? What's that?"
"Marrow of a bone...? I dunno... I...-oh snap, NEW ALBUM TITLE!"
"XD"
Yeeeah. Anyway, obviously I had very, very low expectations. Because when you have high expectations, you're always let down.
However, the album was... pretty good. Well, FOR ME. I think I like it better than WtD and Gauze. The guitars really stand out and Kyo's screaming actually sounds like it belongs in a metal rock band -which is a compliment. And although I did laugh at the multiple "Fucks" in Rotting Root and Lie Buried with a Vengeance, the songs grew quickly on me. I listened to the album three times consecutively, which I usually don't do. Kyo's mixture of crooning and then screeching works. My ears welcome the mixture. The songs will lull you and then rip you wide awake again.
And I like screaming, okay? Fans who aren't a fan of Kyo screaming (or screaming in general) are NOT going to like this album AT ALL. They pretty much threw out whatever they had before Kisou and replaced it with more hard rock music.
Recommendations: 1. ROTTING ROOT -a great show of everything Kyo can do with his voice. AND HE CAN SAY FUCK PROPERLY! HUZZAH! 2. Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tamerai ni Hohoemi -I love acoustic guitars, and there's this almost Spanish flavor to the song. Kyo is singing melodically. Gorgeous. 3. THE PLEDGE -I like how the song builds up, and the hook is great. Very emotional and effectively conveyed musically in Kyo's voice. 4. Repetition of Hatred -the beginning wasn't so great but the chorus is awesome. Americanized? I don't think so. I could definitely hear their Japanese musical roots floating throughout the song, integrating with the more American chorus.
Skip: 1. THE DEEPER VILENESS -too screamo, even for me. Kyo has the same tone throughout and the guitars blend. I started tuning it out. 2. The Agitated Screams of Maggots -I hate this song. Repeat that ten times. 3. LIE BURIED WITH A VENGEANCE -again, blending, too much screaming. Near the end, Kyo screams 'Fuck' repeatedly, followed by what sounds like 'ooga booga'. I'M SERIOUS! Overall, I really like this album. And for all those fanbrats that keep whining about how Dir en grey is 'Americanized', for God's sake, shut the fuck up and just stop listening to them. Bands try new things -it's how they LAST without cranking out the same stuff repeatedly. Not to mention that music from all over the world is pretty much integrated with each other.

So I wasted an hour of my life watching Alice Nine's new DVD, Dear Numbers (please don't ask me about the engrish -in Japan, they should hire people to look over things written in English and inform whether or not it makes sense). Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of most of A9's songs (for shame! Blasphemous! You're not a fan! Etc) so I forwarded through most of it. But the songs I like, I really, really like.
Unfortunately, I didn't think Q was that well performed -Saga was too soft but since he was playing bass at the same time, I don't blame him. I couldn't understand the weird-ass screaming/yelling for Dead School Screaming -they sounded like animals. o_O
Okay, enough with the A9 bashing. Oh wait, they all had terrible hair (minus Nao). Oh, and Nao's drum solo was lame. And Tora didn't really do much other than play. Not to mention that Hiroto is such a camera whore! Yeah, and how they're all jumping up and down in union kinda screams, "lame!". Okay, now I'm done. On with the good-
1. guitar playing was amazing as usual. As annoying as Hiroto is (why the hell do I have an icon of him?!), he's very talented at what he does. And Tora, well, he's God, obviously.
2. 'Nine Heads Rodeo' -that performance made my life. Shou should stick to the heavy, scream-o songs because he does them very, very well. That boy needs more angst in his life! I WANT MORE ANGRY LYRICS! MORE THRASHING!!! I VOTE FOR KYO BECOMING HIS MENTOR!!!!
Wow, only two things. Yep. Hey, watch it if you like most of their songs and the utter disgustingly peppy nature of all of the band members (minus Tora, who looked like he wanted to shoot himself in the head). They like to jig. Seriously.
Oh wait-
3. When Hiroto kissed Nao on the cheek. Hey, I'm 75% sure that kid is gay. Or bi, either one. He's just in utter denial.

Apparently, if you pre-order Dir en grey's CD, you'll be able to ... meet them?! Well, for the shows from the 19th to the 25th... and I am so in luck. I haven't pre-bought the CD but that's what FWA is for. ;)
However, only 100 people get to see them, or something like that. Uhm, hello kicking, screaming and biting fangirls? It's just a cause for war. WAR, I TELL YOU!
Anyway, now I'm crazy excited again and I have no idea how I'm going to get through all exams and presentations before the concert. I CAN'T THINK! I'm just sitting here, although I have a story, a presentation and a psych paper due tomorrow, and SPAZING. I NEVER SPAZ. Honestly, I am usually really calm when I'm truly excited about something.
So... think Americans would be nice enough to give a poor little Canadian a chance to meet them if she's run over by everyone lining up to see them?
I think the only option we have is to get there first. Who's with me?
Edit: I don't know what the fuck is going on.
And on a completely random note, The Girls Next Door (omfg, I actually watch trash) almost makes me wish I had bigger boobs so that I could be a playmate. O_O
