When you haven't blogged in awhile it can feel weird to come back. Long update ahead.

This last week was midterms, which is the main reason I have been absent. Too much to do. My Lit and Art midterms were back to back on Monday (only a half hour between them) so that was foul. The Lit midterm I think went OK, it's just hard to gauge what she wants in your responses. We go over a lot of author biographies in lecture, and not the concepts of the stories, which is the main problem. She also uses a lot of examples from stories we're not even reading. My section brought this up to our TA, and she said she'd talk to the professor, so hopefully she'll be a little more focused in lectures for the final.

Art I feel more torn about. I know I blatantly missed some things (dates can screw), but I feel like I rocked the essay about the art of the hand-scrolls of The Tale of Genji, so we'll see. And Thursday was my history final, which isn't interesting enough to mention much beyond that.

I've also been "semi-sick" since Tuesday. I say "semi" because I haven't felt bad, really. I just have the annoying telltale signs of sickness: Constantly alternating runny/stuffy nose and a sore throat. I thought it was pretty much gone by Thursday, but on Friday it got a second wind or something. Annoying!

Friday was a fun day. ♥ I saw The Forbidden Kingdom with Kate. It was complete campy goodness in that, "we're poking fun at ourselves!" way, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then Alicia, Emily, Jolene, Kate and I all met up for dinner, with an impromptu viewing of Sweeney Todd afterwards. I think this day is partly to blame for my throat worsening. Too much laughing/yelling/acting goofy.

Today was coffee with Emily and Evanne, which is always pleasant. ♥ Few things are more comforting then hot chocolate and a danish with friends on a rainy day. Then work from 2:30-7:30, and afterwards teriyaki with Emily and Alicia as we watched The Librarian: Quest for the Spear, a TNT made-for-TV-movie, about a library in NYC that owns all the mystical artifacts of legend (The Ark, Pandora's Box, etc) in their super locked basement, when the Spear of Destiny is stolen, and the new Librarian must return it to safety. For what it is, it's actually pretty great. I was entertained throughout, and am volitionally willing to see the sequel.

Today I also received a letter from the College of Arts and Sciences at the UW. Apparently it had gotten sorted into my dad's mail where it hid for weeks, so I just got it today. Apparently I made the Dean's List for Winter '08. Shocked the shit outta me, as I was not expecting that at all. So I put the letter up on the fridge. Haha.

And in completely different news, I booked a trip for NYC! It's going to be a short 4 day trip in September, so those are all the details I have to tell for now, but I am waaay excitedddd. :D Last time I went to New York I was 12 on a day trip with Sarah when I visited her in New Jersey. And while the huuuuge FAO Schwartz was amazing, I just remember wondering why everyone made such a big deal over the city. New York is not cool when you're 12. I'm hoping it is a decade later at 22.
