Mine and Tina's orientation group...last day...campus tour!

I LOVE THE CAMPUS!
On the first day, all 400-500 of us were split into groups of about 9-10 based on our majors. It was cool because my orientation counselor, Drew, had the same aspirations as most of us...he majored in physiological sciences, did pre-med, currently in his fourth year and applying to med schools hoping ot get into UCSF (where I want to go).
The first day consisted of attending the usual "welcome to ucla," cheating, and other presentations at moore hall. I unexpectedly had to take the math placement exam that day and was completely unprepared. I literally winged that crap and had to borrow a calculator from someone. Good thing it wasn't too shabby, mainly alg2/precal stuff. We had lunch at ackerman hall...it was like a foodcourt at a mall...restaurants consisted of rubio's, panda express, sbarro's, tropix, and coming soon, taco bell and jamba juice lol. We attended more presentations and talked to our OC in between. After, there was a BBQ with different clubs trying to get people to sign up like maze day.
Cabaret night by the orientation counselors has got to be the highlight of it all. It was fun watching all the OCs dance, sing, play guitar, make a fool out of themselves, and bash USC. It's crazy how much we hate USC lol...hella amusing. From 11-1am, we got to play unlimited games in the arcade, poker/pool night...pretty fun and tiring. After an hour, a couple of us decided to hit the dorms...where I finally met my orientation roommate. LOL, how lame, they roomed us in alphabetical order. She was really cool...talked to her for a bit but then I past out.

Orhythm LOL...they were hilarious!!

The second day felt so rushed. There were so many different workshops to attend with little time to go to all of them. We met with our orientation counselors to talk about which classes to take, the most stressful part of orientation...lol school hasn't even started and people were stressing. All of our meals for the day were dorm food and let me tell you, I now understand why they call it the freshmen 15. Our dorm food was pretty damn good...buffet style! But knowing me, i'll get sick of it real fast. During midnight, we all went back on campus for the scavenger hunt. HAHa, my team and I decided to bail and explore Westwood Village! We walked to the 24 hour In-n-out for some midnight milkshakes after meeting a drunk couple along the way. It was fun...I love the city life and how everyone is still walking at like 1 am. Got back to the dorms, my roommate was asleep...I felt bad...but she woke up after I washed up and we talked about everything for more than 3 hours! She's really cool...we totally pumped each other up for the fall. Didn't go to bed until like 4...had to wake up early to register for classes at my OCs dorm. After, we took a 4 hour tour of the campus!! DAMN that was tiring!!! At the same time, UCLA is BEAUTIFUL...the campus, the people, EVERYTHING about it!! =) I'm so excited...I wanna go back now. I didn't get to take too many pictures because my batteries ran out on me =( But I know I'm gonna love it there for sure!!! I realllllllllllllyyyyyyyyy can't wait until the fall! =]

Isn't the campus beautiful?

So friggin' GORGEOUS! My camera actually does it some justice this time.

You know, just in case you didn't see enough of the same picture at a different angle... =P
The weekend before orientation, my family (minus Melissa) and I went camping with some family friends. The location was near the Santa Monica mountains, beach front right next to Malibu. It was so fun even though there was like no one my age. Friggin' savage Asians...there were about 8 families and each family brought hella food and all they did for the two days was cook and think of what to prepare for the next meal...we had steak camping out in the wilderness haha. We had a bonfire, made real s'mores, went to the beach, hiked, played texas hold'em...typical camping stuff. The adults were hellllllla funny...like I would just sit back and listen to their jokes...friggin' stand up comedians for sure. It was good bonding time for the fam I guess.

We spent the week before orientation at my parent's family friends house in Arcadia. Everytime we went out to eat, I would be so amused at all the friggin' Asian restaurants all lined up on one street as long as Grimmer. There was a Tapioca Express, Quickly, or some other boba retaurant on like every corner, no joke. It's no wonder Ha loves food so much...she's been spoiled with it in LA.

In the car, we were getting bored and started doing random stupid things..

I tickled her to death

Michelle and I...lol she needs braces

Hi loser

So much green...it Pasadena/Arcadia totally reminded me of Palo Alto with all the nice trees hovering on the sidewalks

We went to eat at Noodle Planet which used to be Big Boy's Burgers or something like that? They never removed the mascot..

Before orientation, we visited UCLA just to make sure we knew how to get there.

UCLA...i love it there.

LOL..i was taking hella random shots

We keep UCLA moving!

We visited like every ice rink there possibly exists in LA for Michelle to practice. On the first couple of days, she skated at the Pasadena ice rink. Another day in Anaheim, then Valencia, then Artesia, Michelle Kwan's ice rink where my parents and Michelle met Michelle Kwan's entire family. I only got to meet her older sister, Karen Kwan because I was at orientation. I'm glad my sister finally met her idol...she even got to practice with her. Too bad no pics...only autographs.

Anyway, that ends my couple of weeks of fun and business. I actually want to go camping again...with my close family and possibly you loserfaces!!
My cousin Ritchie has been over so he has kept me busy taking him places to explore what's new in Fremont and what not. I'm going to a wedding on Saturday...first one in a LONG time. And as for the rest of summer...spontaneity needs to kick in.
So that took forever...I hate uploading pictures. Whoever read and went through my schpeel deserves a cookie...or maybe just loser points! =P
