I need more Disney icons. [10 Oct 2008|12:27am]
So once again nothing important has happened in the last two days. I went grocery shopping yesterday and ended up spending only $21 on a whole bunch of stuff that should have cost me much more. Good deal for me! I also had dinner at my friend Joni's house (pierogies!!), so it was good deal x2!

Today I went to the Magic Kingdom because I don't go there often enough, and when I do it's usually after the parade that I adore has passed through. Didn't do a whole lot of things, but I never really do. Let me say, though, that I'm finally actually excited about working at the Jungle Cruise. I've been looking foreward to it, but I never really had a spark of excitement until I was riding it today...Mostly because there are SO many illegal things I'm planning to do. Muhahahaha...

Ok. I have never, EVER embedded a single video in the entire history of my Livejournal, so just because of that you need to watch this:

FYI: The first 25 seconds ARE NOT THE GOOD PART. Keep watching past there!

I NEED to be friends with those people. Anyone who can make a rap out of highly advanced physics? Yeah, bemyfriendnowplzthx.

Also, under the cut, a HILARIOUS Dark Knight spoof about Batman's inability to clearly articulate. )

And that's all I've got. Tomorrow I plan on starting to re-read Wicked, because it's been years since I last read it, but we all know what happens to my plans.

"I hate how you know the songs so well you can just end your songs like that!!" [07 Oct 2008|10:33pm]
[ mood | exhausted ]

First of all, why did no one inform me that Hairspray is closing?

Second of all, why did no one inform me that there's now a third book in the Wicked series?

Thirdly, I spent ten hours at Disney Quest today and am now going to turn off my computer and die from exhaustion. It's been a pleasure knowing all of you.

Today: Disney and TEAM SLAYERS KICK ASS PWNAGE HOMG [03 Sep 2008|11:34pm]
Ok, we all knew it before, but I have to yell it to the world:

GOURRY IS MY HERO

Also in Slayers spoilers... )

And now I return to being normal.

Today I rode/played Toy Story Mania for the first time since June and got my third highest high score of all time, which was fun, and traded a giant bag of pins. I then went to Epcot with [info]ichiban_victory and did pretty much everything! It's fun to actually go on rides and not just walk around. Not that walking around isn't fun, it is, but it's nice to ride rides for once instead of solely walking then leaving.

I also got quite badly sunburned, but it was totally worth it. And when I came home and downloaded Slayers Revolution, I ate a giant bowl of pasta. Today was good.

2007 in review [01 Jan 2008|11:48pm]
[ mood | nostalgic ]

Now that I haven't updated for the majority of 2007, I figure 2008's as good a time as any to start again. I've totally been saying that for the past two years, but this time I mean it... For real, yo. Anyway, since no one here has any idea what's been going on with my life(Except maybe Jessi), this might allow a glimpse of what (and who) I'll be writing about from now on.

WARNING: This is NOT DIAL-UP-FRIENDLY. Hell, it's hardly DSL-friendly. Beware.

2007 in review )

And those were some of the main points of my 2007. There's loads I've missed, but that's pretty much everything you need to know. Err, hope you enjoyed? Any questions, I guess?

HAPPY
STAR WARS
DAY!!

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the release of the movie that would change the special effects industry, create a whole new type of nerd and geek, and whose triquel would inspire legions of aspiring strippers with its magnificent use of a metal bikini. Like me. :)

Let's all celebrate geekily!!

Just to let everyone know, Jessi, my friend Matt, and I just got back from ironing a pair of Jessi's pants on bricks in the middle of an open-air shopping outlet and eating ice cream.

Next time she comes down, we're going to go to the same area with a surge protector and hook up an iron (and bring an ironing board this time), a George Foreman grill, a toaster, and three other things and use the same not-for-civilian-use power socket. It'll be awesome.

Goodbye 2006; you were fun, but a little too fast-paced. 2007, please go slower! [31 Dec 2006|08:21pm]
OH MY GOD my last non-private update here was on November 14, and the last non-private entry before that was October 18. What the hell.

Anyway.

This is my last post for 2006! I figured that I was obligated to make one considering it's kind of obligatory anyway, but mainly because I haven't posted anything viewable in a month and a half. So. Here we go.

2006 was a lot of things, but mostly it just passed by exceedingly quickly. First half of the year was spend in Gainesville with Jessi, worked at Marbleslab for a while, took lots of summer classes for a short six weeks, and ate at Taco Bell every day (Literally). Also, my sleep schedule involved falling asleep at high noon and waking up after the sun had set. Then I moved to Orlando to work for the slave-driving mouse, met some of the best friends I could ever wish for, developed a regular sleep schedule, made (not a lot of) money, developed the beginnings of a (dysfunctional on my part) social life, and generally had a great time. On the flip side, I had a "situation" with one of my co-workers that continues to fuck with my mind, my area and its facets have greatly deteriorated and are currently falling to shambles, and my work as well as my state of mind have never made me feel so bi-polar.

On the whole, however, I would say that this has been a good year, albeit an extremely fast-passing one. I've found a group of real-life, local friends who mean the world to me, I have a job that I usually love and that makes other people happy as well, and even though I've fucked up and shit has hit the fan on more than one occasion, I've found a place and situation that I'm, on the whole, happy with.

Happy New Year, kids.

To everyone who's seeing the RENT movie:

Don't get your hopes up too high.

It's a good movie, I liked it, don't get me wrong, and I'm sure you'll think it's amazing the first (few?) time(s) you see it, but honestly... It's a great movie if you love the music and just go in expecting that, but if you have ever actually thought about the characters or what makes them "them", you are going to be disappointed. It has some very major flaws in areas that needed to be strong(Characterization, character development, background, transitions, coherence...), but it is still a good movie and you'll enjoy it.

And just for the record, let me state: I was one of the first people to say, "The OBC coming back is a good thing! So some things were cut; there were reasons and they think the changes were for the best. Yay for changes! Yay for new material! Yay for different views! Yay for a whole new experience!!" If anyone says I was expecting the stage version or anything with those vibes, I'ma beat their ass. Thank you. :)

PS- Before you comment, please read the other replies, as they probably have touched on the subject you would be commenting about.

(Mis)Adventures in the Kitchen: Starring Sami and Jessi, Take One. [13 Oct 2005|08:20pm]
[ mood | OMG So amused. XD ]

Take one:

Jessi is in the kitchen in front of the (now empty) sink. She grabs her rice cooker that has been sitting stagnant (with massive amounts of rice inside) for about 14 days now, give or take a week or two. A slight amount of mold is visible on top of the rice, but no amount to fret about.

Jessi takes the rice cooker and hits at the rice to get it un-stuck. The rice has been sitting around for a few weeks, so it is very hard to budge, but Jessi works diligently away.

She finally hits a breaking point and the rice breaks into two large clumps; she then turns the rice cooker over above the sink to drop the rice out. The rice drops into the sink upside down, still in two mounds.

Now it is visible that the entire bottoms of the clumps are covered in a white mold with a very large black-green spot to accent. And when I say covered, I mean covered, as in no rice is visible; the forest of white mold completely devours the grains and the spaces in between them. Sami and Jessi laugh at this, because while it is utterly revolting, it is also extremely humorous. Come on, you know it is.

After a few giggles, Jessi finds it funny to poke at the mold with the rice scooper. After all, what could be more fun than allowing it to release its deadly spores into the air? A few pokes, however, are not enough to satisfy her curiosity's appetite. As she further investigates the mold, she leans over it and swipes the rice scooper across it; for what reason, we do not know.

A second later, she leaps back, shielding her face and looking to the ground as her eyes tear up. She then yells:

"AH! My eyes! They BURN!!!"

----------------------------------------------------------

This has been another great tale from the SamiJessi Theater of: 'We Are Mature, We Swear'. Thank you, and have a good night.
