I'm going to be very hermit-like for the next couple weeks. I have to save up in order to move (ugh) and I won't be able to eat at restaurants or go do anything fun.
So yeah. There's that.

| [ | mood |
| | happy | ] | Okay.
So.
This weekend was awesome. :D
I had Friday off because my plane to Michigan left around noon, so I had breakfast with my roomie for possibly the last time before she moves. Although now she's thinking that she's going to move on Sunday, not Tuesday, but whatever.
She took me to the airport and then I sat around in the airport and on a plane for the next four hours. I arrived in Michigan around 6:10 (Michigan time, which is just after 3 Arizona time). Dana picked me up from the airport and after hugging and giggling a bunch, we went to pick up her daughter Hannah from Nate's mom's house and then we got some yummy Chinese food that we ate at their house. When Nate got home we sat around chatting until about 12:30. They were exhausted but I was like, "Oh cool it's 9:30 my time. I'll stay up for a while."
Saturday we went shopping at Target and then we went to the zoooooo! The Detroit Zoo puts the Phoenix Zoo to shame, you guys. For reals. We took LOTS of pictures for your enjoyment.
( The zoo! Thees! Stunna shades! Is it a lion or a tiger? )
After the zoo, we went to BD's Mongolian BBQ for dinner. It's a little different than YC's, but the concept is basically the same. Dana and I were supposed to go out and get crunk on Saturday night, but she feel asleep while trying to get Hannah to fall asleep so I watched the UFC fights with Nate, Wally, and Erin. We made lots of jokes about how sexual the fights really are, especially with the commentary they provide.
Sunday was pretty relaxing. We went to the mall for a while, where we bought cookies and... nothing else. H&M wasn't as cheap as I thought it'd be but whatevs. Then we went back to Dana's house where we hung out with her brother Michael for a while before Dana had to take me to the airport. Michael is cuuuuute. :D
It was sad saying goodbye. I definitely could've stayed for another couple weeks and been perfectly happy but unfortunately my boss actually expects me to show up at work sometimes.
It was a good weekend. ♥ |

I am annoyed, exhausted, sick, feverish, spread thin, stressed, sick of flakes, sick of feeling like crap, hating money, hating Tallahassee, bored, tired, angry, pissed off, moody, not wanting to talk to anyone, needing my boyfriend, needing a vacation, needing more money, needing a career plan, needing confidence, needing a haircut, going to cut people out of my life.

We've seen a couple houses that we like, and one that we absolutely love. But apparently everyone and their mom loves that house too so we have to fight to get our application in first. And the renting office is at I-17 and Peoria. Joy.
We're not putting all our eggs in that particular basket. We have a bunch of houses that we're looking at tonight as well. I'd like to have a decision made before I leave for Michigan (TOMORROW OMG) but I doubt that'll happen.
I know we're not moving until the end of November, but I really want to get this taken care of now. I hate not knowing where I'll be living come December 1st. It's slightly scary.
Oh, and it turns out that I can't even afford to move. Move-in fees are unbe-fucking-lievable and I have zero money. Awesome.
I've got a lot of things to do tonight I'm so sick of making lists Of things I'll never finish |

ok so don't be mad...but...i'm taking the easy way out of creating a halloween costume from scratch (like the past few years)....
i bought all of these online, and i can return them all for a full refund. i will try them all on at home and hopefully return all but one (maybe i won't like any of them?).
keep in mind that i'm going to wear a petticoat or skirt that hits at my knees underneath these costumes
choose your favorite, and comment, to help me decide which to keep!

times are crazy.
i won't be going to school out of state. i actually won't be doing anything that will cause any amount of debt. stock market crumbling. gas is down but that's because everything is down. ebay is even laying off people. what the heck? save your money kids. save your money. we haven't hit the first safety net to put a hold on trade, but things are not looking good. things will only have to get worse before they get better.

| | frustrated | ] | So, this weekend sucked.
I was able to take Friday off, which I was excited about. I slept in a little bit but my roomie also had the day off of work so we decided to get a little Friday morning breakfast at Palatte. As we're sitting there, enjoying a lovely meal, she suddenly tells me that she wants to move to Portland.
This doesn't come as a surprise, since she's been talking about moving to Portland since the first time we met. So I asked her when she was planning on moving, thinking it would be the end of this year at the earliest.
She said, "The 14th."
Me: The... the 14th of this month? Steph: Yep. Me: Oh, I see. BRB FREAKING OUT
Basically, she's moving a week from Tuesday, but she's helping me with the rent until the end of November.
So instead of the fun, relaxing weekend that I'd been hoping for, I got to start desperately searching for a new roommate. The issue is that everyone I know in Phoenix already has a living situation and my other friends don't want to live downtown.
Somehow it worked out perfectly, because Tom and Merlin have been talking about getting a two bedroom place together. When I brought up my problem to them, they offered to look for three bedroom houses so I could go in on a place with them in Tempe.
Then the issue became finding a house that the three of us could live in that has a landlord who doesn't mind holding it for us until December 1st.
So yeah. Now I have to mother fuckin' move AGAIN. I hate moving and apparently it has become my yearly tradition. UGH.
Hopefully, since I'll be moving with Merlin and Tom, I won't have to ask anyone to help me move again. I hate doing that and my friends are starting to resent me.
On a good note, I got my hairs cut and dyed this weekend. I took a picture on my camera phone to send to Dana, which is why it's crappy quality, but you get the general idea.
When I'm feeling lazy and just scrunch my wet hair on the way out the door, it looks like this:
Please excuse my face. I'm not wearing makeup and I'm tired/stressed from this weekend.
And when I actually have time to straighten it, it looks like this:

I don't like smiling. I just like scrunching mah face.
And speaking of Dana, I leave on Friday morning to go visit her in Michigan for the weekend! Huzzah! |

[Oct. 4th, 2008|01:48 pm] |
I just bought 5 books on relationships. Once I read all five of those new books, I'll pass on the best ones to you folks.
I used to study psychology (marriage and family) in college, and reading books on those topics have been amazing with all of my relationships with people in general (and they help me understand flaws in my conversations with Jordan).
So far, my favorite, most helpful book is called: Love & Respect by Emerson Eggerichs
You MUST read this if you're in a relationship!
My other favorite that almost everyone has already read: The Five Love Languages
Anyone planning anything for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas yet? I want to hear your plans!
I want to go to San Francisco on my next adventure. It may have to wait until next summer though. |

after three years of love and friendship my loyal hamster Pelican passed away today. She showed no signs of any sickness and since I had found her I really had no clue as to her age. My room feels empty without her. I already miss the sound the wheel made while she sprinted all night long.

| | pleased | ] | They're moving the computer system that I use at work to a new server tomorrow. They anticipate that they'll be done around 10 in the morning, but there are no guarantees.
Since I do literally all my work in this particular program, my boss told me last week that I don't need to come in tomorrow until 10.
Today he told me that they'll probably be behind schedule and may not get it done until the afternoon. In which case, I can just stay home. I'm supposed to call the office tomorrow at 10 to see what's going on and if they're not done moving it to the new server, I can have a three day weekend.
On top of this great news, I just opened up a little individual-sized bag of chips and nearly ALL of the chips are folded. Folded chips are my fave; they just have the best crunch.
And. And! My hair is looking pretty awesome today. ::fist pump:: |

| | grateful | ] | it feels like the month of July or the city of Phoenix here in San Diego! it was 97 at my school this afternoon! Saturday = rain! finally!
i am trying to figure out what i want to be for Halloween: - Dallas cowboys cheerleader (not the super short skirt version) - sailor (i already have the white boots for this or the cheerleader) - trophy wife (costume is on target.com) - something funny like the last two years (bubble bath, ceiling fan)
i don't really care about Halloween. so i am not spending more than $40.
Paige, one of my best friends in high school, is getting married on Friday night! her engagement went by so quick! she registered for about 575 items, and since she works at the front desk at church and she's amazing and she's so lovable, she is probably receiving 450 of those items! i just looked on her registry and the only good things left are the things that cost more than $200! good thing i was first to buy stuff off her lists! ha! i love wedding registries. the psychology factor behind them is unreal.
on the health front, i've been feeling a little bit sick lately. i am running full steam with school and work. and i could even be doing more work, but i'm not volunteering for it. i don't want to start hating life because i would have too many deadlines. i have a sinus infection and bad headaches. i went to the doctor today and got the Z-pak. soon (December) i will be getting sinus surgery to create a bigger pocket in my sinus area near my left eye. sounds scary, but it will really help. i've had 6 documented sinus infections in the past year.
boyfriend news? i love him so much! he made a big effort to hang out with me as much as possible when we were in AZ from Saturday to today. my favorite part of the weekend was in his parents house. we were watching TV and sitting on the living room couch, and just chatted about little things that we were thinking about. it was the most real conversation that i've had with him in a long time! we talk on the phone everyday, but sitting on the couch, sleepy, and being cute led to a cute, simple conversation.
ok that's enough for now. i only got 3 hrs of sleep because i drove from phoenix to temecula this morning. |
