I can't believe that I deleted Velcra's latest album after the first listen. What the fuck was I thinking?! It sounds fantastic - just a little different compared to their two earlier (heavier/more agressive) albums.

This is not the first, nor will it be the last time that do a complete 180 (uhm, hai Justice). Whenever I decide that something's crap after the first try, I seriously need to smack myself. I've managed to carry my dvds and books there, but that's pretty much it. I'm still very much living here, in my old place. The thing is I don't need/want to move until August, but now I'm all torn 'cause I needs my interweb! What to do, what to do...

i have a bit of a cold, but it's not as bad as yesterday. i was stupid enough to share a water bottle with my brother who was just recovering from a cold, so i can only blame myself for getting sick. but thanks for the germs, bro. appreciate it.

yesterday i just spent half the day making a collage using only angsty/sad bsg caps. those caps almost made me cry. honestly, i'm such a girl! (lately babies have an oh-i-might-cry effect on me, 'cause babies are cute and cuteness makes me cry - but i digress)

the collage/whatever turned out crap, but it was never meant to be a masterpiece. it was more of a let's-see-what-happens-if-i-take-this-cap-here-oh-that-texture-looks-good-wow-i-just-sneezed-all-over-my-monitor type of a thing.

A while ago I rewatched Band of Brothers - in one day, because it's just that awesome. There's like a hundred reasons for watching this miniseries, and The Pretty is definitely in the top ten. I was surprised at how many familiar faces were in the cast (o hai Jamie Bamber). I can't decide who's my favourite character, but I do know who is the prettiest: Webster, played by Eion Bailey.

Finally caught up with BSG. I really need to do some rewatching at some point, 'cause all I did was watch one episode after another without really processing all of it. And damn, there's a lot to process.

A few thoughts... I'm going to start from the end because I just finished Revelations like ten minutes ago.

I always thought that when and if they'd find Earth, it'd either be an ice planet or a complete wasteland. (Pessimist? Me? Never.) So I pretty much went "meh" when they finally did find Earth and it was in ruins. Also, the way they bleaked the colors in post-production (thanks a lot for always making iconing bsg so hard) made everyone look like they were in some emo!goth music video (maybe it was just me?), so it was kinda lolzy. But I totally approve, because I actually like things that look emo!goth. Anders, Gaius and Leoben looked damn hot. (Bleak is the new hot.)

But my favourite part?

TIGH AND CAPRICA. TIGH AND CAPRICA. MAJOR LOVE, YOU GUYS. MAJOR LOVE. It's like the crack pairing that should never have happened, but now that it's happening IT IS SO AWESOME. Caprica's pregnant. *FLAIL* But since the Sixes are...well, kinda whorish, who knows who the father is. The whole thing could also be a cylon trick. BUT OMG IF IT'S FOR REAL. HAHAHA TIGH AND CAPRICA ARE GONNA HAVE A BABY *giggles madly*

- OK, let me get this of my chest. I don't ship Roslin/Adama. I think they're cute, and they made me smile and go awww, but that's it.

- I have a love/hate relationship with Roslin. But after everything that happened in The Hub, the character is definitely going in the right direction. p.s. Mary Frakkin' McDonnell is awesome.

- Lee is still boring as shit. He's always been my least favorite character, and now that he's a lawyer/president he's even more boring than before.

- To my surprise, I loved D'Anna. She was more entertaining than before.

- I so prefer Natalie over the wig Sixes. Tricia looks so much better with her own hair. NATALIE IS COMING BACK RIGHT?

- Kara "The Harbringer of Death" Thrace and her Special Destiny FTMFW.

- Cult leader!Gaius is kinda boring. I like(d) Gaius better when he's being his usual egotistic self. But he still manages to bring the lulz and is awesome at times. When he's not playing Jesus.

- OMG GAETA SINGS. *swoon*

- OMG GAETA LOST HIS LEG. D:

- HAI ANDERS.

- KARA/ANDERS/LEOBEN = OT3.

- TORY IS BADASS AND THEREFORE AWESOME.

I've been rewatching X-Files like a crazy obsessed person these past few weeks. I still remember bits and pieces from the early episodes, but obviously not everything, 'cause it's been such a long time since I saw them on television. Can you believe it's been 15 years since the pilot first aired! It's ridiculous! I still remember when I was in school, X-Files was the show. Everyone watched it. I also remember one of my friends saying that the only reason she watched it, was to see when and if Mulder and Scully would, you know... make out. Hee.

Season 7 is the one I seem to remember the best. That ending from the The Amazing Maleeni is one of the parts that has always stuck with me. How did Scully/Gillian do that thing with her hands?! Haha, it was awesome.

I'm going to do another picspam later, but here's one that I just had to make after I watched the episode Home. The second episode of the 4th season, deals with a taboo subject matter and is one of the most disturbing X-Files episodes ever. (After its original airing, Fox chose not to air the episode again.) The case our agents are investigating isn't of a paranormal variety, there are no aliens, and there's no government conspiracy behind it all. The first episode that dealt with a non-paranormal case, Irresistible (which inspired Millennium), was a great episode, but in my opinion failed in the most important point that it was supposed to deliver when the killer was also portrayed as a sort of demon - literally. That took away from what I saw was the "lesson" of the story: that there are human beings who are cabaple of the most heinous acts of violence, but these inhuman monsters are still only human beings - and that makes them all the more scarier.

But I digress. Back to Home. Even though they're case is as dark as it gets, the Mulder/Scully scenes are adorable, cute and PRETTY. It's a shame they've banned the episode, because there are so many said adorable and cute moments. I just had to picspam the hell out of them.

These are torrent caps, but they don't look that crappy. So yay.

Mulder and Scully arrive to a rustic small town of Home, Pennsylvania, where a newborn with a large number of birth defects is found dead in a shallow grave. Scully is doing all the work, measuring the hole in the ground, and reciting her findings to Mulder. He's too busy playing with a baseball to actually pay attention to anything she says:

I've collected soil specimens and although numerous shoe impressions were made from the sandlot game, I think a couple of dental stone casts will prove invaluable to the investigation. *Mulder is still more interested in the baseball, pretending to pitch it etc.* Meanwhile, I've quit the F.B.I. and become a spokesperson for the Ab Roller.

- Smell that. That's perfume: Eau de Ball.

- God, this brings back a lot of memories. My sister... all day pick-up games out on the vineyard, ride your bikes down to the beach, eat bologna sandwiches. Only place you had to be on time was home for dinner. Never had to lock your doors. No modems, no faxes, no cell phones.
- Mulder, if you had to do without a cell phone for two minutes, you'd lapse into catatonic schizophrenia.
- Scully, you don't know me as well as you think you do. You know, my work demands that I live in a big city, but if I had to settle down, build a home... it'd be a place like this.

The sheriff comes and explains how this horrible crime has forever changed the quiet town where no one locks their doors. Mulder asks who lives in the nearby house. Sheriff tells of the Peacock family: three boys whose parents were in car accident, and are presumed dead. No one knows for certain what happened to the them 'cause the boys hauled the bodies home before they could administer medical attention. They haven't been seen in ten years, so they suppose they died. Mulder thinks they should question the boys, but the sheriff disagrees saying that the boys wouldn't understand what they were talking about: "The Peacocks built that farm during the Civil War. It still has no electricity, no running water, no heat... they grow their own food... raise and breed their own stock... if you get my meaning." -- To distract you from the EWWW factor, look at how uncharacteristically sunny the wheather is (omg Vancouver has sun!) and how pretty Scully looks. Also, further distraction: whenever I see/hear the word "peacock" I think of Tracy Jordan recording the new promos for The Girlie Show. Hi, I'm Tracy Jordan. I'm black NBC. Very proud, like peacocks. Right, Janet?

Because the local police station doesn't have a lab or a morgue, Mulder and Scully have to take a look at the victim in a tiny washroom. I'm completely ignoring what they are doing and what they're about to discover, because adorable cuteness ensues when they're both cramped in the smallest bathroom EVER. Look at their expressions! Hee. You know how Booth and Brennan have no respect for each other's personal space? Of course you do. Well, because Mulder and Scully aren't like B&B who talk with their faces only ten millimeters apart every chance they get, it makes this scene all the more squee-inducing.

OK, back to the EWWWW. Scully pulls up the covering on the victim, and reveals the most deformed baby in history. It looks like it's been afflicted by every rare birth defect known to science.

- Imagine all a woman's hopes and dreams for her child and then nature turns so cruel. What must a mother go through?
- Apparently not much in this case if she just threw it out with the trash.
- I guess I was just projecting on myself.

- Why, is there a history of genetic abnormalities in your family?
- No.
- Well, just find yourself a man with a spotless genetic makeup and a really high tolerance for being second-guessed, and start pumping out the little Über-Scully's.

CUTEST.SCENE.EVER. Aww they're all squinty-eyed smiles (poor things probably haven't seen the sun in two years) and adorableness. He rubs her back a little, and more adorableness ensues:

- What about your family?

- Well, aside from the need for corrective lenses and a tendency to be abducted by extraterrestrials involved in an international governmental conspiracy, the Mulder family passes genetic muster. *makes a hilarious "because we're awesome like that" gesture with his hands*

SO.FRAKKING.CUTE.

They decide to visit the PeaCOCK family. Damn this episode is pretty. The first cap is my favourite from the bunch. Also much love for David Duchovny's hands-on-hip walk. And look, sexy silhouttes! AND OH NOES NOT ELVIS!! :(((

Mulder's hotel room. He's trying to rework the antenna, twisting and turning it, trying to get a position. Scully smiles and packs her things up, walks towards him and the reception improves, sound clear.

- Whoa! Don't move, don't move.
She stops. The improvement quickly disappears.
- Damn.
- You still planning on making a home here?
- Not if I can't get the Knicks game. *teasingly touches her cheek with the antenna tip*

- Well, just as long as a brutal infanticide doesn't weigh into your decision. Good night, Mulder.
- Good night, Mom.

Mulder and Scully are called to the sheriff's house: the sheriff and his wife have been brutally killed by the PeacoRk brothers. Again, completely ignoring everything but teh cute and, you know... shippy.

That was just a little bit too Chuck Bronson for me, Scully. *talking about the gun-happy police officer*

I'm not even going to comment. Just... pretty.

And after this everything gets less pretty and more EWWWWW (the mother!! so.disturbing.) so the picspam endeth here. ...well there was thas that one cute scene where M&S are in the pigpen, but I'm too lazy to cap it. If you want to know what happened in the end, read this. But if I were you, I wouldn't even want to know 'cause ewwww.

I just got 150€ for a piece of piss work. Mom and I were helping out at mom's coworker's son's graduation party, and even though the money was meant for both of us, mommy dearest let me keep them all. AWES.

I shoulda worn better shoes. I made the same mistake of wearing flat sandals. And of course: flat sandals + standing on your feet for nine hours = OUCH.

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to add that I managed to get an hour and a half of shut-eye after all that crazy business that happened last night. I was kinda prone to yawning at the "job" (i use the term loosely) but other than that, the lack of sleep didn't bother me.

I still have time to watch some X-Files before Léon starts. Haven't seen the movie in ages- definitely one of my all time favs. RENO/PORTMAN/OLDMAN = SOMUCHWIN.

OK. First of all. Simon and River? I ship them like whoa. Sure they're brother and sister, but no matter how much I try to say that to my pervfest of a brain, it just won't listen. CRAZY SPACE INCEST IS LOVE. And why should I beat myself about it, when even the cast make comments about their "special" relationship. From the War Stories commentary:

Alan: (talking about Simon) He was always hanging around with his sister. They were reaally close.
Nathan: (laughs) We'll talk more about that in the audio commentary of Safe.

Too bad that no such commentary exists. It would've been HAILARIOUS.

Summer said that her dream role would be a character like River, except someone who isn't in love with her brother. ... and Joss obviously is down with the CSI. He wrote that deleted Our Mrs. Reynolds scene where River wants to marry Simon: "Two by two. Everyone has a match, a mate, a doppler. I love you. --- *puts a pillow under her shirt* Now we have to be married. I'm in the family way". (I seriously fell out of my seat and had a heart attack- in a good way- when I first saw the scene in question.) So, Joss pretty much canonized Tamcest. Figures that they cut the scene. Heh.

Firefly is my favourite show ever. (Sorry BSG.) I bought the dvds, rewatched it and fell in love again with the 'verse, the characters and the cast so hard that it hurts. I would give my *insert body part of choice here* to have new episodes. I will never forgive Fox. What really pisses me off, is the way they treated the show. They never even gave it a chance. For those of you who don't know, Fox decided that the pilot was too dark, which is why they didn't air it first. (You mean we should show the pilot first? Why, that's insanity!!) Instead they asked Joss and Tim Minear to write a new "jollier" pilot in two days. And naturally they aired pretty much all the episodes out of order etc. etc. GAH. Of all the fantastic shows Fox has prematurely canceled (and there's too many to even mention), Firefly has got to be the best. Because it just is. Ask anyone. While we're on the subject of Fox cancelling my shows: DON'T YOU DARE EVEN THINK ABOUT. *clings to Sarah Connor Chronicles* Seriously, fuck with one of my shows AGAIN and I will hunt you down. And besides, you couldn't do that to Summer AGAIN, now would you (do I have to remind you that she can kill you with her brain and her crazy awesome robot ballerina asskickery moves). Well you've done it to Nathan (and Tim Minear--how many times now? i've lost count.) so I really don't know what you're going to do next. You big damn motherfrakking idiots. /end rant

EDITED TO ADD: OK, I just found out that Sarah Connor Chronicles has been officially renewed for a second season, so ignore that rant above. And while you do that, let me do the dance of joy.

I've read the FF comics, and even though I love them, it's just not the same as watching the show (although yay for new FF in any form or medium.) Sigh. I just wish they'd get to make more movies. Speaking of...

I bought Serenity, which for some idiotic reason I hadn't seen yet (I'm the worst flan ever.) and HOLYMOTHEROFGODANDALLHERWHACKYNEPHEWS. I want to watch that movie twice every day. Joss Whedon, people. There isn't enough superlatives in the 'verse. Also, SUMMEERRRRRR! Excuse me while I pick my jaw off the floor. I don't even know what to say. Those fight scenes are just I N S A N E. And so absolutely beautiful. River is my superhero. \o/

And since I bought that collector's edition of Serenity, I got to listen not one, but two commentaries. How much do I love dvd extras? SO MUCH. The cast commentary is hilarious. I tell ya, I think my love for these people has reached and unhealthy level. No, I know it has.

Also - not really having to do with Serenity or anything but I just have to say this- if that Joss/Summer ballet movie ever comes out, I'll be the happiest person alive.

And of course I have a shiny Firefly picspam (and this isn't going to be the only one). The cast of Firefly is, IMNSHO, the most adorable cast ever. Just looking at pictures of them makes me feel like everything is awesome and shiny. You can see the love that these people have for each other (see, I get all mushy just thinking about them.) They're like a big happy family, Nathan being their crazy energizer bunny of a big brother. (And we all know Joss is boss.)

I'm officially the worst lj friend ever. I was on a little hiatus 'cause I was feeling a little... well, shitty. But I'm doing better now. I haven't been around to check my friends page at all. I've missed like ten birthdays. I SUUUUCK. I'm also totally out of the loop on fandom. Basically I have no idea what's going on with anything or anyone. But I'm trying to catch up now.

Even if I've been out of LJ land for a while, that doesn't mean that I haven't been thinking about posting. But you know how it is, the longer you put off something the harder it gets. Well, I've had about a month or so to come up with picspams, and that means I have like twenty picspams worth of material on my harddrive (you'll probably notice a theme in them... yes, I'm a little obssessed with a certain person.) I've been meaning to post about my favourite new show

Now, back to the show. I don't actually remember the Terminator movies that well, but I have seen them (except for T3, but the show ignores that storyline anyways.) T:TSCC is ridiculously pretty and I'm not just talking about the cast. The visual effects are pretty goddamn awesome for television. I can't wait for the dvd. *grabby hands*

Naturally I ship John/Cameron and Sarah/Cameron. And because of SCC now I have not one, but two robot girlfriends. Someone really needs to write me some Cameron/Six. I can't be the only one who thinks they are meant to be. (They have a lot more in common than just the obvious robot thing. Srsly. Just think about it.)

John/Cameron makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. It's like the light version of Gaius/Six. You know, if Gaius and Six had met in high school (lol at that scenario. ) and without all that selling out the human race business and the general craziness. Oh, and also a plus; Cameron's very much real. And very much a robot. Summer's deadpan deliveries are so perfect and hilarious.

You were probably wondering why Cameron had a completely different personality in the pilot (I know I was). Well here's what the writer/producers Josh Friedman and John Wirth have to say about that:

IGN TV: I guess the other frequent one is that some people ask why Cameron seemed somewhat more humanized in the pilot compared to later.

Friedman: You know, that's an interesting question and I think it's hard, because I watch her performance, and I was there and I know what we were talking about to her at the time… I find her performance very mannered and strange [in the pilot]. I find it very extreme. I find that she's asking non sequitur questions of him in a very programmed way. I will say that I also believe that a pilot is a learning process and you start to learn types of things that you're interested in and when I sat down to write the second episode, I knew that I really was attracted to that sort of calmer, odder part of her. And I don't believe that she had to go out and be sort of manically 'high schooly' in the future. It was just something I think that she knew she had to do for John, and I think she moves eight years into the future and it's a whole different [thing]. She doesn't have a context for that. No one's told her how to be in 2007. And really, I don't find her performance in all the episodes after that… I find them to be odd, but I don't think anyone would look at her and say, "My god, that's a robot!"

Wirth: She says in the pilot she was waiting for them for 73 days. These are learning machines, so she had ample time to sort of fit in to that environment and act like a human being in that environment. I think once she changes environment, that personality as it were gets shed and she moves into a different place. There's kind of a public and a private persona in a sense to that personality.

Friedman: Also -- and this is sort of my master answer to many of these questions relating to her especially -- whatever she does may be for a particular purpose. She's been programmed to come back for a particular purpose or purposes. It may seem inconsistent to a viewer, but it doesn't mean it's inconsistent to what her goals are. We don't know what she's doing exactly, so she may be doing stuff for a particular reason… to keep John off guard; to make Sarah feel more at ease in a certain way. I think that Sarah would be creeped out immensely if she acted purely like a girl. I think it's reassuring to Sarah in some way that she's identifiably robotic. I think that's not an unreasonable idea, if you knew your mother and you were sending someone back, that you might do. (source)

I'm not complaining about Cameron being more human, because omg she's smiling and flirting with John. Ah, to be young again... and also a robot. (I've waited forever to use that quote. *high fives self*)

John offers Cameron The Chips of Love. When she doesn't take one, he gets all emo. "Aren't robots supposed to love chips! What with them having chips in their heads and all." John is confused.

MY SHOW IS BACK!! WEEEE!!!

Is it just me or does everything look like WAY prettier? Don't get me wrong, it was pretty before but NOW? The effects look SO FRAKKING BEAUTIFUL. The ships, the raiders, the explosions and the pretty pretty vipers/viper pilots---I just want to make out with my monitor a little bit. (This newfound prettiness could also have something to do with the big and shiny HD torrents. NO MORE WILL I HAVE TO SUFFER THE CRAPPY QUALITY OF THE 350MB BGS TORRENTS!!!)

TIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGHHH. We all knew that Tigh with a gun was going to be a (day)dream sequence but it still made me go WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWERJAWJ. Tigh totally shot Adama in the EYE!! (the man has eye issues, give him a break.) And then there's the raider's blinky glowy red eye scanning Sam's CYLON EYE for
EYEdentification. Then there's the whole mandala/Eye of Jupiter thing. Eyes, people. They're big on eyes on this show. Keep your eye on them. (I'll promise to shut up about eyes--starting now.)

GAIUSSSSSSSS. I can't believe this, but he actually looks hotter in that new short(er) haircut and without the beard. *pinches his cute baby jesus face* He kinda reminded me of Desmond in that shaving/grooming/remember my dead son, bitch? scene (HE EVEN HAD HIS SHIRT HALF-UNBUTTONED) - which isn't surprising seeing as Gaius = Desmond. Just ask ack_attack.

I love that shot of Six smiling (she's all proud of her own personal jesus) when the kid's miraculously cured and OMG GAIUS BELIEVES (again. wait, did he ever actually believe? i forget.) Wouldn't it be awesome if Gaius suddenly went from the traitor of mankind to saviour of mankind. OK, I kid. That would totally SUCK. I want my Gaius all weasely and crazy, not saving babies and sleeping with crazy cult people. I'm just going to have to wait til this whole storyline progresses, but at least for now I feel kinda meh about it.

OMG that last scene with Sam and Kara. I really wasn't that huge of a shipper before, but now that he's a Cylon and she's... well we don't what the hell she is- I SHIP THEM SO HARD. Their relationship's all weirdly complicated and AWESOME. -- AND LOL THEN SHE GET'S ALL PSYCHO, SMACKS SAM IN THE FACE AND GOES OUT TO KILL ROSLIN. OMGGGGGGGGGG!!!11ONE

Oh, and I totally forgot about that whole Roslin/Caprica scene. Now this storyline is something I'm looking
forward to. (And not just because I'm all about Roslin = Final Cylon.)

Dudes, a theory:
What if Gaius's fate is to become this SAVIOUR OF PEOPLE, whose ultimate goal is to cure Roslin's cancer. BUT. Because Roslin's actually the Final Cylon, when he cures her he becomes SAVIOUR OF THE CYLONS, Six tells what he just did, and that, you know basically he's just been used by the Cylons all along. She only wanted to keep him safe because they needed him to cure their best kept secret aka Roslin. AND THAT WAS THE PLAN THAT (the Cylon) GOD HAD FOR HIM. you know the plan that Six has been going on about this whole time. AHAHAAAAA.

Yes, I do believe I just came up with the most plausible theory ever. In fact I'm not even gonna bother checking out the show anymore, because clearly I know what's going to happen. The bad guys are going to win (YAY FOR THE CYLONS) and it'll be... wait for it... LEGENDARY.

Oh, and I also have *another* theory. In this one, the fleet find Earth, not -contrary to a popular theory- the pre-historic Earth where the dinosaurs roam free, BUT in fact the year is 2007 which just so happens to be the time when Sarah & John Connor and their new best friend Cameron need help DESTROYING THE EVIL TERMINATORS. So, you know, what with the Cylon's tracking the fleet to Earth (well you knew that was gonna happen) the humans and Cylons all have to team up against an even more deadlier race of evil robots AND IT'S GOING TO BE LEGENDARY. Oh, and also? Six and Cameron are going to make out. A lot. (If you didn't guess that that was going to happen...you don't know me at all.)
