| VHORSTMAS |
[Dec. 18th, 2008|04:34 pm] |
VHORSTMAS approaches once again. We're all ready down here at VHORST HQ, we hope all you good people up there on the surface are too, whatever crazy festival you're celebrating.
Recently I've been suffering from back pain. It seemed to be spreading down to my left leg and the left side of my pelvis but has since stopped. I hope it doesn't come back again. It was hard to move, hard to get up, it didn't stop hurting during the night. I almost thought it was a sciatica but that wouldn't account for the lack of pain now.
Seeing J tomorrow to exchange presentsies. Hope she likes her present, I'D like her present. Well I hope she doesn't have it already anyway. If she does thennnn, well it doesn't matter. Presents are just presents. I'm not sure where we'll go. It'll be nice to see her again anyway, maybe we can break into the British Museum this time.
Then off to Leicester from Saturday to the 5th of Jan to see AB :). When I get back I need to look for a new place to live and do loads of work. Why loads of work then? Well I'm totally lazy right now, I spent 2 hours looking at clips of 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure', then realised I couldn't possibly do any work with that mindset. Most triumphant.
Hope ya'll have a fine dandy 'Christmas'. May VHORST loom over you threateningly. |

| | None | ] | You know what would be a good idea? A feature that focuses on what happens inside a zombified person's mind when they become a zombie. Assuming they don't simply die, that is.
It'd be cool if, instead of simply blanking out, their mind constructs some reality where everything is normal. Then it steadily breaks down. One minute they're in Tesco, the next they 'imagine' they're gnawing through someone's face in a dark, exploded alley turning around to see several bloodied lurching figures swarming over them. Then it flickers out and they're back in Tesco going: "What in cotton pickin' tarnanity is wrong with me?" Also this is a southern gentleman... who rhymes.
There's quite a few zombie features out there but I've yet to seen one that focuses on the zombie as a victim. As THE victim in fact, as the main character who slowly unravels what's happening to them and comes to the horrific realisation that, no matter what they do, they can't stop anything.
In other news:
ILLNESS. I am ill. It's nothing major by Anaxandria's standards (I'm not being rushed to hospital twice in the same week!!), but I am shivering a fair bit and wanting to be sick a lot. It's times like this I think how much money I'd make for a: "Days off school - first illness free" clinic, where people pay you to get your illness so they don't have to go to school. Only drawback is those crazies who spread AIDs as 'the divine disease' might show up and crash the party.
AB and my family came over this past weekend which was nice. Unfortunately AB got ill too. :(
I don't want to keep writing this because I feel a sudden and stomach churning urge to run downstairs to the bathroom. If there are any typos or anything you fix them in your mind and you fix them good.
We'll be back after these messages. |

WHERE'S THIS DAMN EXPANSION?!
Every little thudding noise in the house makes me jump to the stairs to see if it's been delivered yet -- and each time it's not. ARGH, JUST DELIVER THE DAMN THING ON TIME YOU BRATS!!
In other news: shakingggg.
EDIT - YEAHHHH it arrived. Strange time to deliver mail but I'm not arguing. Finally! |

| Confusing |
[Nov. 11th, 2008|06:56 pm] |
So a while ago a friend of mine vanished from MSN completely. I was a bit confused. This friend then vanished from MySpace and Facebook, seemingly into thin air. At first I thought I'd been blocked or something for my outrageous political motives/racial inequality/sexist digression, but soon I forgot about it, though I missed talking to this friend they were always quite private and did things without mentioning them. I thought they would return in time.
I randomly searched on Facebook to find this friend and lo', there they were. I added them and asked them where they'd been. They said the Internet had been distracting them too much and they now only used a new Facebook. Then they removed me because their boyfriend is, from what I can gather, an overprotective maniac who doesn't allow this friend to have friends on the Internet whom they don't know in case she cheats on them.
A bit weird I have to admit. We used to get along quite well, and it's kinda strange to have this person saying 'we can't be friends anymore' like a parent is standing next to them with a disapproving, concerned look on their face. Overprotective spouses SUCK. Stop having them! I'm not going to cheat on your girlfriend/boyfriend, just let me speak to them!
Sis is missing too, which is terrible. I enjoyed speaking to Sis so much, for ages she was one of the people I spoke to the most and then one day wham, gone. It's funny how it affects you so much. She's busy with her boyfriend or something, there's month gaps in between the replies on e-mails I send her. It's easy to forget about people from the Internet, I suppose. Ahhhh well, I miss these vanishing types.
- In other news: the uni friend's party wasn't so fun for me. There were lots of people I didn't know, to the extent that I couldn't get inside any room and had to hover in the corridor. There were hours of just standing there, staring at the wall. I did try to speak to people but, sadly, the flow of people didn't allow for conversation and people had a tendency to get pushed away by the stream in the corridor. It was a choice between retreating upstairs or leaving early, and I chose to leave early.
- Saw AB last weekend and went to her cousin's 30th birthday. There were lights and dancing. It was kinda fun I guess, but only because AB was there. I've realised I'm not good at parties. In fact I'd say I was downright terrible at them. I wanna buy a T-shirt that says 'Hi I'm introvert. Speak to me!', but it'd be trashy and gimmicky. Someone should make a brand called 'Introvert'. It'd be a good name for space-age fashion accessories.
- OBAMA is president, hurrah. Changing policies and a man in the White House who can actually think for himself. Sure he's a Muslim Arab terrorist secretly planted by al-Qaeda, but I still like him. He has moxie.
- In future tales: I need to make plans to meet with J at some point (PROVIDING MARKY-MARK DOESN'T BECOME SUPER PROTECTIVE TOO), I forget what our latest quest is though.
- This weekend I'm off to see Sam in Hastings. We plan to conquer some ruins and hurl rocks from a ship at other ships. We'll beat that damn yacht that just sailed past us last time.
- Then the weekend after that AB is coming down and so are my family. Haven't seen my family in a long while, actually. Well that's both a good and bad thing, I suppose.
- In the meantime I need to do various bits of uni work. Stupid ethics essay is going to be a bit of a deal to improvise. Hard to write in depth essays for such a worthless subject. If I ever become a journalist I'm going to deliberately throw away any ethical concerns, just to annoy all these goons who keep writing tomes about ethics in the media.
Also new expansion for WoW approaches. Need to shoot into that somehow, though I'll be late as I'll be in Hastings. Should be funnnn though, lots of new content to explore. Lore to digest! |

| Should totally be asleep |
[Oct. 30th, 2008|02:05 am] |
Central London, especially the South Bank, is such a pretty place at night, providing you don't die of course.
Just watching the dark water of the Thames lapping against the walls, so relaxing and interesting. I should go on night walks more often, but it's knife-central out there and I don't have a knife so I'd feel left out. I could get a table knife but they're for spreading really and you can't really 'spread people up'. Well you can try, I guess, but I'd rather not.
But anyway, back to this sleeping lark. |

| | Tears For Fears - Head Over Heels | ] | Yesterday, whilst performing the mundane task of checking my e-mail at university I suddenly felt gripped by fear. Unusual I thought, I had no idea why. I must have thought of something that really scared me. It was quite weird, I mean I've been trying all day to remember what that thought was but it eludes me. Such is the rollercoaster of my life. It was something I'd been putting off and had to do in the future, but I really can't remember what it was and I just know soon it's going to rear it's fearsome head and I will be there, fearsomely fearsomed.
This weekend AB and Popeston came down. It was nice to see Popeston, though it was easy to relax and really, to be honest, it seemed like I'd been talking to him (in person) for years. There was no real sense of awkwardness for me. I'm a terrible host though, and don't you forget it. I'll introduce no one to anyone, and serve food and beverages only if threats of violence are made against me.
Tomorrow I must go... somewhere to pick up tourist-y leaflets for class on Thursday. I figure I'll go to the South Bank as I like it and need to go there at night at some point. Of course if I do go there at night I minimise my leaflet-picking potential by 900%! So I'll just go in the day like a sap, safe in the knowledge that I will return at night at a later, yet to be confirmed, date. 24 hour buses rock, after all, as do night walks.
Off to a university-pal's birthday this Saturday. It'll probably be filled with drink and laughing and I'll be in a corner tapping my fingers on a wall to the sound of whatever song is currently in my head. I think at the moment it's 'Head Over Heels' by Tears For Fears, though it's more the literal version that's 24/7 on the stereo system that is MY MIND. You should watch the literal version if you've not already. It will bless you with laughter. In fact I'll post it here:
Then someone will take your blessing and eat it, because people are jerks who eat blessings. |

| | Take That - Rule The World | ] | I spent the weekend with Sam at his new flat in Hastings. Hastings seafront is a brilliant place, especially when you're with a friend. The beach is so relaxed, and on a 'nice' day the sea seems to be made up of flowing gold. Sam's new flat is huge, it was just a really great weekend. I forgot how relaxing the sea is, how you can just spend hours staring at it.
Will definitely be going back there soonish. |

| Quirky |
[Oct. 9th, 2008|04:15 pm] |
I love quirky people. You can have the biggest house in the world and wear the finest clothes ever, but if you've got nothing special about you then what's the point? There's too many boring people in the world who are scared by anything out of the ordinary. They're concerned only with their own lives, or the lives of those immediately around them, concerned only with pursuing the mundane. The world outside their lives doesn't matter, so long as they conform and live exactly as they believe a person should. Repressing any thought that contradicts their almost list-like lives.
No you've got to have a certain quirk about you, a certain brilliance, an enigmatic character to truly be 'there'. To see and understand the world around you, and not to ignore it, but to think on it, to think on topics outside your own greed and your own circumstance.
I like to surround myself with these people because it's endlessly entertaininment. It keeps you on your toes, you'll never know what happens next. The mundane is irrelevant; your thoughts dwell on the possible, the impossible, the entertaining. It's intellectually stimulating, even if the topics are perhaps the 'stupidest' ideas ever presented.
I just wish I knew more of them in London. |

| You're not strong |
[Oct. 8th, 2008|12:59 pm] |
What do people mean when they say they're 'strong'? I don't mean physically, because that's fairly obvious. When people say they're a 'strong person' it's usually because they're either: a) arrogant as hell b) upset but don't want to show it or c) delusional.
It doesn't help that half the time these emotional gladiators are the first ones to sit down and start crying and moping around. They're usually the first to go beserk and start saying how pointless everything is. People who are truly strong don't need to say they are: they know there's problems in life and they deal with them without fanfare or a fuss. Persevering is a basic human quality.
I'm just so sick of being told how strong people are. Their weaknesses are all too apparent. It's just unbridled arrogance, a complete lack of vision for people around them. I wish some people had a more introspective slant on their lives. |

Brutally murdering my opponents and stringing their corpses above my hell-fiends.
Oh yeah, something to do with presents too. Presents of PAIN.
Thank VHORST for VHORSTMAS. Literally!
Anyway long story short: handed in all my university work today. I think it went well, but we'll have to wait for the results before any further decisions are made. I am off to see my darling girlfriend on the 22nd of December and then arriving back on the 3rd of January.
So if goons say: "WHERE'D YOU GO WITHOUT TELLING ME?!?!" when I get back, then I shall point, laugh and barrel roll outta there.
Because, despite the fact I never get any comments and don't update for months, I still expect everyone to read my LJ! I read it! |

What's going downnnnn? Gravity. Gravity is going down. Or more gravity is pulling everything down. There you go. Now you know. You can stop saying 'what's going downnnnn' because you know.
I don't really know what else to write. Nothing monumental is happening, but then if it was would I really be wasting time writing about it here? Doubtful. I have a few university deadlines but that's not really a problem. VHORSTMAS draws ever closer I suppose, need to start writing cards for people and such. Gotta get those death threats out in time!
Last year I made some crazy VHORSTMAS song or something but that isn't happening this year because it's totally not worth it and I have to prepare for the brain farm. This year I'll just celebrate VHORSTMAS with the occasional murder. Nothing too fancy. Maybe a good old fashioned dance with death. That'll please VHORST, surely.
Well I'm bored of writing in this now, so over to you Popeston! You tell us what you did in America in an LJish way that makes us all laugh. Also you've yet to give me the gold you promised. I know you said we signed a deal whereby you'd give me malt instead but I don't see any malt either. It's like you've given me the souvenir of disappointment! I NEED that gold/malt for my nuclear arms fund/vinegar making device! |

| | None (partially deaf in one ear for some reason) | ] | I've been sorting out my bank accounts today, as well as saying 'hi' to my hairdresser who, when asked how he was, replied by saying he was fighting the power. I asked him what power and he said 'the status quo', he didn't really elaborate on how, but I knew he had a reason. I felt like dropping in and saying hi because I haven't had my hair cut in a while, I'm talking months here! Plus he's good to talk to and even if it's just a ploy to get me to come back, he's interesting to be around. He shouts at his other customers, it's fun to watch!
But the highlight of today was waiting in Barclay's bank advisor queue and seeing an elderly man brandishing a pair of shears. Why would you bring a pair of shears, rusting may I add, into a bank? Much less, into the part of the bank where you sit down with an advisor? I was in the queue first, but the man sneered at me when I went to see an advisor before him. I'm not sure what he had planned, but whatever it is it's probably happening right now.
But life is good when you can say to the assistant bank manager: "Think there was a guy in the queue who wanted to kill me. He was brandishing a pair of shears, be careful if you see him next." And he replies with: "Heh, there's always one."
I need to go back to the bank at 2pm to speak to someone who was on their lunch break about opening a new account. This problem really worried me yesterday, so hopefully I can get it resolved as soon as possible.
It's that or I get murdered by shear-man!
IN OTHER NEWS: AB's birthday soon. They grow up so fast...! :)
And in other other news: Congratulations on surviving another year to Sam who doesn't read this. I'm going to be trashing his house this weekend and complaining about his drinking habits. |
