hmmmm...let's see....me.... (in incomplete sentences)
ph.d. candidate in historical archaeology (19th century west, 17th-18th century new england, 15th-18th century virginia). have an m.a. in anthropology (native ceramic studies). watch way too much tv, went to bowdoin, spent too much time in the theatre and not enough time studying.
i play the baritone saxophone, a little flute, a little clarinet (actually, it was a large clarinet), percussion and i think i can make some non-painful noise on a violin.
i read for fun
i'd like to think i'm funny

i believe in comfortable shoes, colorful socks, a woman's right to choose, alternate forms of energy, gay marriage, liberalism, the flying spaghetti monster, everyday hilarity and colorful linguistics.

i do not believe in: organized religion, hate, underwire bras (no one will EVER be able to convince me that they're any sort of comfortable), prejudice, mountain time television schedules, the US government, virtual hugging of any kind, large SUVs, reality shows, game shows, fox news, my ability to get things done on time.

i take personal offense at sand. i always have, just ask anyone who knew me when i was little, i can't deal with sand and shoes. it's maddening i tell you.

i also enjoy keeping my brain out of the mud. kinda works better that way.

oddly enough, i qualify as "petite" when it comes to trousers. believe me, i'm the most surprised.

oh, and i'm a raging britophile, but i can't stand tea. figure that one out.
