I want to make you some art, but omg, I don't know what fandom to do!

Is it just me or is anybody else having trouble getting on IJ today?

First off let me just state how much I hate doing personal business taxes. It feels like all I've done this weekend was calculate work mileage and add up expenses. ):

First off, I've seen that a number of people have added me lately, I just wanted to drop you all a hello! and thanks! I'll need to be doing another getting to know you post soon, possibly this weekend, since I've fallen so behind I don't know where to begin. I still have art I need to post here also. There are just not enough hours in the day. :)
Just today alone is uber busy, I have a house to photograph this evening, plus I need to make some backdrops for a portrait sitting I have tomorrow night. I've also been taking advantage of the lovely weather we've been having this week to do some new planting. We've had absolutely fabulous weather, 75 degrees and lightly breezy with clear blue sunny skies, perfect for replanting my angel trumpets and dahlias. Plus I found these beautiful deep, dark purple rosebushes (they almost look black) that have the most amazing spicy scent, almost like cloves. I would be outside all day if I could.

I heard about the new G.I. Joe movie they are making, and while I'm skeptical as to how good it might actually be, I'll go see it for at least these 2 reasons:

Meanwhile, finally updating a week later than I said I would.....

Looking through my journal, I've come to the conclusion I need to to dome serious clean-up work around here. Tagging is horrible, my memories section is a mess, I've never gotten around to replacing moved or deleted art, etc. I need to do some spring cleaning BAD. Also, I'm thinking about possibly making any adult art posted here filtered. I've had some RL noses poking around here lately, and I would like my job and my journal to remain strangers. I haven't made a definite decision about this yet, but if I do I'll be making a post regarding being added to the filter soon.

I got to give some love to dmacabre, who sent me a wonderful package the other day filled with all sorts of goodies! I got some beautiful Froud notecards, a handmade bookmark, and some chocolates which I promptly consumed. Thank you so much! ♥

I was going to throw out my 2 cents on last week's Torchwood, but seeing as how there is a new episode today, I might as well wait a bit.

I've actually been getting quite a bit done artwise, but I'm jumping back and forth between different projects so there is nothing fully completed to post just yet. But I can offer a little something. While stuck in out of town for work I drew a bit, but since I don't really want to work on fandom stuff while stuck with the people I work with, I played around with this instead. I'll don't know when I'll get around to coloring it, I gotta finish some other arts first.

I'm actually working on making a real post, but I wanted to throw this out there first.

So it's been made official. Deathly Hallows will be two movies. For the most part I'm excited about this, since that means we get one more movie, but it does feel a bit like they are milking the franchise for all its worth. I don't mind that Yates will be directing, my main concern is hoping all the original actors will be up for one more film. I mean damn, these kids are going to be like 40 years old by the time this all ends? As long as they can snag the trio, Rickman, and Fiennes back for it, I'll be ok with it.

So. Where do you think they will split the movies at? I'm thinking possibly around the time when Ron takes off in the woods. Any other ideas?

edit: Interesting little piece of trivia: The guy who played Tommy (To the Last Man) on Torchwood is the brother of Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom).
It didn't register at first, but now I totally see it. :)

I had a whole lengthy entry thought out to post, and the minute I sit down I forgot half of what I wanted to write about. Hmm.

Rorschach and the Comedian look great. I'm having a bit of an issue warming up to the way Ozymandias and the Silk Spectre look, maybe it's just because it's odd seeing how their costumes translate in RL. Is her costume made of latex?
And where's Dr. Manhattan dammit?!?

The last couple of weeks have been such a bust, I've been in and out of town repeatedly for work and it feels like I've accomplished nothing artwise or similar. I've skimmed my flist once or twice, but I've missed so much I can't catch up. ): Did anything interesting happen?

I did manage to catch up on Torchwood. Speaking of which..( spoilers for this week's episode.. )

Dammit, I can't find my art gum eraser.

In the midst of working on a drawing done on bristol board, I've managed to misplace the gum eraser. Now all I have is this lame chunk of white vinyl eraser that is pretty much just doing nothing but smearing the pencil around and leaving half the marks I want to get rid of behind.

So in a fit of aggravation I decided to fool around on LJ instead.


So..the writer's strike is officially over today. About time that got settled. Now all I need to do is sit tight 'til fall when my shows start coming back. :\

We are well into the 3rd season of our Alias marathon brought on by the lack of regular t.v. viewing. I had forgotten how much more awesome Weiss is than Vaughn. OMG, if I were Sydney, I'd be all over that and Vaughn can have his scary eyebrows wife. I mean c'mon, Weiss is funny, buys you books, drinks tequila with you while patiently listening to you lament about Lauren YET AGAIN. Vaughn..Well Vaughn just needs to make sure he has enough angst to maintain his wrinkles. Also, my bf has taken to making catfight growling/hissing noises every time Syd and Lauren share a scene together. Good times.

Also, to show how out of touch I've become with the X-files fandom, while puttering around the internet the other night, I came across the Gossamer Project. OMG, I had no idea that was still around! Spent way to much time that night reminiscing with old favorites and discovering a few new ones. X-files was one of my very first fandoms I got heavily into online. Oh, the memories...

It hasn't been touched since. Way to go me. I spent the time I could have been cleaning distracted by the new yarn I bought and worked on this instead:

,OMG. I had to exile myself from pretty much all things internet for the last couple of weeks while I threw myself into doing nothing but work, work, work. A builder/designer award entry deadline is due Monday, so I got slammed. Pretty much a different photoshoot every day, all week long, for two weeks. But last night I finally got the last set of photos ready for mailing and basked in the glow of being completely finished a day ahead of schedule. God, it felt good.

Meanwhile when I was away, I found out someone nominated my art for the dramione_awards! Thank you whoever nominated me! And on top of that I received this:

Since I am through with work for at least another week or so, I get to take all next week to do nothing but draw. I plan on bustin' out at least 2 commissions and collab. project I'm working on.

O.K., I can finally sit down and write this damn post I've been meaning to do for days.

First off, I hope everybody had a good Christmas and New Years. Thank you bluebear_74, friarlawrence, moonjameskitten, and dmacabre for the lovely Christmas cards, and tbranch for the AWESOME Dr. Who drawing.♥ My Christmas haul was exceptionally stellar, mainly for the fact that since all I pretty much asked for this year was stuff for my business (some new lighting, etc.), my parents felt I should get something for fun so they surprised me and got me and my boyfriend a PS3. Now I'm not a huge video game player (hell, I the last game I played was Kingdom Hearts 2, which I never finished), but watching Order of the Phoenix in Blue-ray on the plasma totally makes up for any lack of gaming skills I may have. It's so pretttyyy..
For New Years I had a wild night of sitting in front of the t.v. and knitting. Midnight came, my boyfriend got up and gave me a New Year's kiss and a hug, and.... I went back to knitting a sock and he went back to surfing the internet. Holy shit, call the party police, that much fun shouldn't be legal. Honestly though, I'm perfectly content with my evening. Trying to go out would've been a pain in the ass, plus I don't drink so what's the point?

We are coming up on the home stretch of season one of the Alias marathon at our house. In turn, this has kicked me back into my Sark/Sydney shipping hard. I've spent way too much time rediscovering old stories I used to love, plus finding new ones. I need to get back on the ball with art since that and the holidays slowed me down a bit. That being said, there will be quite a bit of new art coming soon. I've got some left over commissions from '07, a special project I'm working on with
