Bio
This is just for fun, part of classicstarcafe
I was named Myrna when my Dad saw the name Myrna on a train station stop. I started out wanting to be a dancer, but eventually found my way into acting which turned out to be a wonderful choice. I got my first job at Grauman's as a dancer, and from there got my first job in the original Ben Hur.
I stared in many films as tramps, and gypsies and women from other countries. I didn't find anything very fullfilling in these characters, but I was lucky to be working.
I got my biggest break in the film The Thin Man. One film turned into six, and I would be forever linked with William Powell.
I was named the Queen of Movies and Clark Gable was my King.
Later in life I left movies for a bit to do what I could for my country and helped to get bonds for WWII.
I was married 4 times
I recieved an honorary oscar in 1990
