Reasons why I think I'm really going to love my job:

-My first day, I got to go out and watch as they weighed some of the weanlings. Which made my day, because baby horses at that age are all legs and just adorable.

-Everyone is so much fun and so wonderful. Lori is great and everyone spends so much time joking around, it's great.

-So far, the work is easy and interesting... sure, I was only cleaning out the archived files, but I was learning a lot doing it. I loved reading the genealogy of the horses, that was fascinating.

-Also, I really enjoy the drive. It's barely 20 minutes, which is great and it's along a really pretty road. And while this road has the normal horses and cows on it, it also has goats and camels. I have no idea why there are camels, but I find it amusing.

Those are just some of the things that come to mind. I really think I'm going to like it there. And I can't wait till I learn how to do some more of the complicated stuff, both breeding and racing related. The only thing I don't like about it is I haven't adjusted to the schedule yet. I'm not used to having to wake up early! My writing has kind of suffered for it... I've always been the most productive at night, but now I'm too tired to do any writing and just go to sleep instead. I've got to figure something out there, because I haven't written anything in a few days. Which is not good, not when I have a bunch of readers demanding the next chapter... maybe I should go work on that while I'm still conscious...
