Last weekend we ate the first batch of our Silver Queen corn, smothered in butter and lightly dusted with salt & pepper. I've tried it with and without butter, and it's amazing either way. The cucumbers were also delicious and very flavorful. I am eagerly awaiting our zucchini squash and eggplant crops, so I can make Ratatouille. Not gonna' lie, I miss the Heirloom tomato's a lot. Store bought varieties just aren't the same. Yep, I'm a "food snob". Hahaha.

Here's a few recent pics from our garden adventures. Once the corn is cropped, we've discussed planting watermelon. Hope it's not too late for that.

Two baby White Eggplants in our garden. We also planted black ones next to it. Ebony & Ivory yumminess.

Sunflower in our garden that was planted by the birds. Mother Nature's way of saying: "I DO WHAT I WANT!"

*Ooooooh* - I am in love with this oversized porch swing. It's like a daybed with better options. I'm imagining it off our *future* back deck/covered porch and pergola area. I could lay outside during the cooler parts of the year and read books or bird watch in comfort and harmony. The only thing I see that's lacking is that they need to notch out a slot for sliding a wine glass into the wooden arm, and a second hole to place round glasses for drinks like water, tea or a coffee mug. Then it would be absolute perfection. It's even big enough for two people to snuggle up and watch sunsets together. It can be yours for the (*coughcough*) low price of $1,099. Dream big, baby - dream big!

The next thing I've found recently is that there's a return of wooden things in home design, which pleases me immensely because I adore wood. It feels fantastic to the touch, looks stunning in a home - day or night - and it's easy to keep clean and great for people with allergies. If the home I live in currently was actually mine and not a rental, I'd rip up all of the carpet and replace it with wood floors. Supposedly there's wood flooring underneath it now, but who knows what condition it's in, plus it's a rental home and I'm not sure our landlord would appreciate my aesthetics changes; then again, wood flooring does bring added value to the price of a home, so that's a +PLUS+.

Anyway, while perusing the web, I came across a new idea: ceramic tiles that resemble various types of wood so closely that you can't tell they aren't made from a real tree. Seriously, it's gorgeous and made me *sigh* a little inside.
