Apparently he didn't have permission from interested parties to post the pictures he had the last few days i.e. one of the Supernatural Superbowl pool going on in Van. So he deleted them and went to spn_gossip to plead that fans remove their copies as well. People wanked whether it was on the up and up so he went on to confirm it on Twitter.

Oh, and the controversy I would surmise stems from the things they discuss on that comm. /awkward

I thought it was over the pictures of J2 he posted? They've been removed, so that was the theory. My embarrassment squick got higher and higher as I read through the tweets and discussion :/

(I don't know what the deal was...I was asleep, too, and by the time I woke up the pics were gone and fandom had exploded.)

I think it's more pictures that AREN'T J2. The ones with just Jared, Jensen, or Misha are still up. It's the ones with crew members and crew names that are down.

Ahhh....okay. I'm trying to pick up details that are scattered around the net and mostly getting "OMG, JIM ON LJ, NOOOOOO!"

Well, the one of just Misha is still there. I don't think there were any pics of Jared or Jensen that didn't have other people in them, and I'm sure that fans were posting them everywhere, without thought that there were other people in the picture, you know? Those crew members were splashed all over the internet because they were pictured close to Jared or Jensen, and then I can see crazier fans using that knowledge for no good or to try to get inside info. The super bowl spread was taken down too, because it has names, I presume.

Sadly, none of that surprises me.

Yeah, that's probably the reason. I wasn't too fussed about the details, just what I gleaned from a cursory glance. But yeah, the squick factory was OTT. I saw pics as well but they were so innocuous so I really don't understand the drama. It was just a lot of o_O

He also said on spn_gossip that he's "been reading livejournal posts for years" which has spawned an epic amount of DNW from a lot of people.
