i'm ending this sweet little journal of mine, i think it's time to retire the ol' underscore, monroe, underscore. (really, i just wanted it to be monroe, and well, that didn't happen.) but don't fret my deers, follow me over to leavethedayfree for more of my ramblings! so goodbye journal, you've been kind to me...but i think if i went back to your first entries i'd be left giggling and rather embarrassed.

i tried making the move once but was drawn back to sentimentality...but i'm following in the footsteps of dear friends (because i'm a follower...? err...) and am making my move! this will still stay open, though. i could never delete these sweet gems of memories :)

other things;
1) am currently growing out my bangs over the last haircut horror where my lovely hairdresser (who cut my bangs amazing the first time) gave me a space-helmet/elvira cut. far too rounded for my own good. i need my straight cut bangs back!

2) am growing out my brows since i've been without a nice lady to thread them in far too long and have had to make due with plucking them. big oops. sweet baby jesus give me the patience!

3) i really need to make time for knitting and sewing! it's difficult going to work all day and coming home to prepare dinner. but no excuses, i need to figure out how.

being a nerd in the kitchen while cooking. mmm cherry tomatoes. i'm sporting one of my headbands, blast it for being so white. still getting used to our new camera & all the many settings...in time!

headband two. this picture makes me laugh...i look so depressed but i wasn't at all. i was waiting for george to figure out something with the camera and got really bored. my hair is so long in this picture *weeps*...oh, asian mullets. (alright so i don't really have one, but sometimes it feels that way).

someday soon i can see myself becoming the crazy bird lady. sure, i talk to all animals...but i've a special place in my little heart for feathered friends. i was really excited to go to seoul grand park just so i could feed the birds...but then some little kids were grabbing them and the man who owned the place got upset, banged his broom and they all flew away onto the trees. boo.

in more interesting news...i'm going to a penis park that, you've probably guessed it, has a bunch of penis statues in it this weekend. i look forward to finding penis shaped shot glasses that rest in vagina sculptures. amazing.

hello all!

life has been so busy lately, it can be so exhausting working with 6 year olds! on the upside, sometimes their over-the-top rich parents give you presents when their child wins something in a school competition. last week a parent gave me (& the other 2 teachers that work in the class) chanel lipgloss...just because her son won best picture in a contest (we chose the best picture in the class, it went up against best pictures from the school, and won) wow.

i've been a huge grandma lately and am loving it. back on knitting, finished up my super-long cowl and am now making cowls on circular needles (this will mean nothing for anyone). maybe one day i can step it up and you know, knit a hat? one can dream.

i've also been making headbands (as featured above!) what do you think? please ignore the cone head, the picture was taken after a very windy cab ride. we just got back from seeing 'terminator salvation' which, we loved. christian bale can do no wrong!

hi my name is galine. things that make me happy lately are the following: working with santa claus, catching up with old friends, talking about feminine things like poop with lindsay (the stunning broad featured above) and um, oh right, the fact that in one month's time, i'll be in the loving arms and bosom's of my sweet lindsaybelle. life.is.sweet.

my husband to be...who also happens to look like my brother, apparently. we've now got 'you both look a lot alike!' from a lot of people, including his mother & sister...eww? apparently, as some saying goes though, couples who look alike are true soul mates. i'm holding on to this saying for dear life, or else it just feels really creepy to me (ha ha...?)we are the same person though in most ways, so i guess it makes some sort of sense.

it was a summertime day today. a perfect day for blankets and short sleeves and sleeping under the sun and poofs and cloves and banjos.
