quickie but longie.

- so far, i'm adoring all 3 of my professors. especially critical thinking. that is my DREAM course. i'm such a thinker, and of course, a young philosophist. plus i get to throw buddhist quotes out there because they always apply to the lessons. such fun :)

- my layout teacher, vickey bolling does the watercoloring for the arthur books! when i found that out, i instantly became enamored LOL. she even showed me two pages she did, one with arthur & buster, it was beautiful. i've been reading arthur since forever, and i still watch the cartoon, so i was thoroughly impressed. she's also illustrated numerous children's books, worked for disney (she illustrated a few winnie-the-pooh books as well) and worked for turner broadcasting's cartoon network as art director for some of the hanna-barbera programs.

- i got approached in class today to do some afrocentric modeling for a photography student. i was immediately flattered and agreed to do it. i also do not wanna seem like some type of perpetrator or "trend whore", because it's not even like that. african garments and afocentricism in general has always been part of my interest, and i would love to take afrocentric pictures, especially being a darkskinned woman who definitely has embraced herself as a black woman. plus, my aunt was very much into african garments, and wore them frequently. they were even included in a fashion show at the last family reunion we all attended before she died (she planned it). this just provides inspiration to me, because i know this is something she would have loved to see. so i hope the student (who has gorgeous locks by the way) does some justice with the camera so i might even be able to get some copies of the pictures :D

- harry potter comes out the day after tomorrow!!!! i haven't preordered SHIT so i'm hoping on a wing & a prayer that barnes & nobles is good to me. (and my bf too, since he's the one who is supposed to be buying me the book, but i know he's also working on paying some money to the school as well)

- my roommate came back yesterday, and so far, all is good. i pray that the peace remains through the house all quarter.

- and oh yeah, and the "cool, face kids" say. uhm...facebook me? :)
