I've finally posted my college thesis online in its entirety! If you want to read the prologue to a grand steampunk adventure that never was, dating back to the misty, murky days of 2006, then click on the pretty pout below to proceed to a world of magical, mechanical alchemy. It's 1909!

Thanks to Eric Canete for all of the conceptual guidance and Val Nunez for the amazing design job.

Guys, I've finally, AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, only just now, DISCOVERED THE IN PHOTOSHOP. I'd just been drawing with the default pencil tool, this is freaking mind-blowing! The dry media brushes are so much faster and more natural to use. I wish I'd known about this two months ago when I had to draw close to 200 pages of comics thumbnails. ;__;
I also hear that there are such things as custom brush sets! Where people make even more brushes that make your time in Photoshop quicker and more pleasant. AUGH. I usually just jump into things and try to figure them out without doing much research beforehand, and in this case it's cost me over a decade of valuable art knowledge.
Well, here are two sketches to make up for lost time. Digital art ahoy!

| Beautiful Portraits & Vulgar Renditions |

This year was my first time attending Flim Fest, a local film festival organized by Neil's pal and fellow director Kevin James. It was a bonafide blast. Established Flim Caricaturist Julie Becker let me share an art-strewn table with her, and together we cranked out some quick, cheap, fun portraits.
Here are a couple selections for your perusal. You can find the rest over at my Facebook album!
 Photographer Kevin Forti
 Artist Emmy Cicierega
Edit: On-the-spot drawing is tough and I'm not the best at capturing precise likenesses, but I had a lot of fun with this. I'm considering doing cheap portraits at conventions on better paper if I ever get my own table, maybe in the $3-5 range. It's an awesome way to get to know a stranger in 10 minutes or less! |

lo and behold, here is some of that long-promised, mythical "art" i am always speaking of. i don't know what's with me and all these original drawings lately, but i should really buckle down, get my head out of the clouds, get serious, and get back to drawing superhumans in skintight clothing.
until then, please enjoy this vaguely gypsy mystic with two unicorn spirits.

last weekend neil and i celebrated patriots' day by delving head first into some high class americana at main street antiques in plymouth, MA. then there was some time traveling nonsense. you know how these things go. anyway, please feel free to youtube all about it!
