Love Actually

It seems like there are two types of people now days.. emokiddies and emokiddie haters.
I have wondered for quite some time how many people truly realize what emo is.
Are you using it to describe yourself or your music?
Do you have any idea what the TRUE emo music is?
Any idea who the first emo bands were or even when they started?
Excuse me for my rant, but I know ( especially within my group of friends ) this really irks alot of people.
A few more questions :)
Do you even know what the difference or if there's a difference between regular emo and emo-core?
Do you know what emo violence is?
Do you know what screamo is?
You're not emo if you dye your hair black, start wearing a scarf, and lock yourself in your room to listen to depressing music.
Being metrosexual does not make you emo.
Your haircut does not make you emo.

Emo is another stereotype, like gothic, preppy, or even skanky.
Just be yourself, listen to what you want to listen to, dress how you want to dress and forget the labels, but if you won't at least know exactly what you're calling yourself. Know what true emo is before you assume that identity.
