I closed the fridge door last night while I was making dinner, and one of my brother's glass cups fell down off the top and shattered at my feet. Same foot as the razor incident. I might as well hop for the next few days.

Tossing out a request for a big favour to Van folks. M's sourced out a nice couch for us when we get our new place back home, but it's gotta be moved out of its current location (West End) ASAP. Does anyone have a basement or spare room where a couch (7 foot x 3.5 x 3.5) could be kept until the end of August/beginning of September? We'd be happy to kick in some boozahol of yr choice as a thank you, not to mention the use of my wiry lifting arms the next time you move.
Thanks! |

Gonna be a busy day tomorrow. Traverse City Film Festival public tickets go on sale at 6pm and I have to have all the tuning I can do done early in the day. Then it's off with Scully to set up for Lori's Wedding dance.
Gotta get a lotta good sleep tonight.
On an unrelated note, my desk is eternally cluttered. I have at least 3 things going on all the time, and lack anything resembling a good filing system. In fact, I'm pretty sure that such things, like ogres and unicorns are myths meant to entertain small children. However, it is becoming difficult to find anything in the pile. Of course the minute I try to put anything away, I need it. So it all becomes a big waste of time.
I'm certain that a tidy desk is a sure sign of a disordered mind. |

Hello, Babes... SO Sorry, I took a bit of a vacation from posting Events for awhile! The Dog Days of summer are here and, I don't know about you, BUT I feel the itch to get out and be with my community. [Jul. 17th, 2008|09:31 pm] |
while making 3 garbage bags and only 2 ( aw :-( aw aw) boxes full:
- lots of fake tattoos (the press-on temp kind)
- lots of change
- lots of dust bunnies
- a shit ton of leftover embossed UC Berkeley thank you cards, with inner and outer envelopes
- a krusty the clown figurine in one of those vending machine eggs
- lots of LOW balance gift cards (we're talking a hand full of one-dollas)
- a book Pandar5000 wrote about my elusive upbringing, drug trade, car theft, man-pimping, work for the CIA, and eventual "saucy" retirement
- my book-year (hand made anti-yearbook) from SMHS, 1998-1999
- lots of keys for an assortment of doors, most of which i cannot place
- Travel Scrabble
- a lifetime supply of bobby pins
- Pope on a Rope
- lots of shot glasses
- a pink flamingo embroidered iron-on patch!
- reason 1.0 discs, i can only hope they work on OSX. if not, damn you G for breaking my 2.0 discs! (though i found out today propellerheadsSE are on 4.0, but i dont exactly have $500 to blow)
- embarassing middle school photos of me secretly getting drunkish at company christmas parties
- my guitar teacher of yesteryear getting riding-cropped at her birthday at Julies Supper Club
- burrito money Ivan Johnson gave me as part of an HS grad gift
- MY CAL ALUMNI CARD THANK YOU FKN JESUS I THOUGHT I FORGOT TO REGISTER. TAKE THAT ALUMNI ASSOC. GIMMEH MY FREE SHIT NOW.

Played rockband for the first time EVAR (ps3 at l-rocks house) last night. Didn't wanna play gtr because its frustrating that it's not actually a guitar... Not coordinated enough for drums. So I sang say it aint so, and maps, oh we did Creep but failed halfway thru b/c I think the batteries in the gtr were baked & it kept not registering the notes and failing. But it was pretty epic.
In other news I need to get back to the plan for vocal lessons to fix my breathing so kent & I can get Love Den back in action. I really wanna do an electrorock cover of Can't Get You Out of My Head. Pretty gh3y. Hahahhaha. I'd want a live drummer for that though the work with the loops rather than figgering it all out on a 16step and having to do all the swing treatments to make a seq sound live...
Ok its true...Actually any Kylie song would be welcome in whatever we end up working on... Trip hop cover of The One? You never know. I just know I'm bored out of my eyeballs eversince dj G**** (ahem) broke my sound bank discs for reason and I lost all the backups like 2 computers ago... |

"Help, Gmail is blocking our customer's newsletter! Fix it!"
"Um, No. First of all, I'm not gmail. It is not possible for me to change their spam filters. I can't even make a request to do so, there is no channel available to do that. Secondly, I don't fucking care how much they protest that an opt in list isn't spam. It still is." |

"I'm getting an error on the web."
"ok, do you have the page with the error there in front of you."
"no, I closed that window"
"I see. Do you remember the error message?"
"No, I didn't read it. Can you fix it?"
"Ok. Let's try to figure out what went wrong another way. What were you trying to do when you got the error message? Were you looking at films, trying to buy a ticket, or something else?"
"Uh, I don't know. Stuff."
"I see. What kind of stuff?"
"I don't know. You know, stuff. Why so many questions, it's your error, fix it."
"Sorry sir, I am trying to help you here, but it's just a little difficult to fix it when I don't know what I'm trying to fix. My questions are meant to help identify the problem, so we can help you."
"Well, it's your internet, you should know."
"I understand your frustration, but I need a little more to go on. Do you know what page of the website it was on? A web address, anything that can help me identify the place where you encountered the error?"
"I don't know. I searched something in google for the festival and clicked whatever came up."
"Do you remeber what you searched on?"
"Don't be stupid. Nobody writes that stuff down. I don't know. Try something."
"Do you remember what time of day it was when you got the error?" (thinking maybe I can search logs at least)
"I don't know. Yesterday some time. Look, I'm not answering any more questions. You're just stalling. When I can I expect to have it fixed so I can get back on the site?"
"Sir, you've told me that you have a problem, but have given me no information on the problem you have. I don't know where, when, or what the problem was. I don't even know if it was on our website. Without some further information , there is nothing that I can do to help you."
"Look you motherfu.."
*click*
*sigh* People really amaze me sometimes. |

( I Love Living In The City... )
And, of course, for those of you who don't give an Evelyn Hoey about my words, here is a special GlamSpam of rows of dames and studs surrounded by dames. Enjoy!

( Chorus Girls are the spice of life... )
I watched an episode of The Guys Next Door on youtube today at work. LOL! I used to love that show, too. I remember thinking all the old film clips they showed between skits were stupid, but now I think they are the best part! I spotted Paul Muni today :) And their video for "Bad Boys Club" has clips from Street Scene (1931) in it. Yea, yea...
I'm also re-reading my old books. Right now I'm reading Clara Bow for the 6th time. All this loss of film knowledge has been depressin' me! |
