Yesterday at work, an elderly lady was talking to someone in the waiting room about her grandson. It just amazed me at how proud she was of him. She seriously talked about him for 30 minutes and I evesdropped as much as I could b/c it was the kind of bragging you don't mind hearing and that isn't annoying in the slightest.
We have all these elderly patients come in now who are seriously the greatest people in the world. I always attach myself to them as much as possible b/c they seriously just kill me. I mean, I talk to 90 year olds with more wit than most of my friends (with a few exceptions hah)!
sometimes they will come in pairs, husband and wife, and one will devotedly wait while the other goes through treatment. And then it kills me when they come by themselves b/c then you assume that their spouse is deceased and that makes me so sad to see old people by themselves. I can't explain it, I don't get sad over most things. There is just something about old people being by themself.
one man was waiting for his wife today and was talking to me about everything. In the middle of our conversation, he admitted to me that he wished his father was still around so he could tell him things.
I might get harry potter and an ipod tomorrow.
