9:40AM - Tarot

My tarot card reading went fantastic!

I got many "rebirth" "death" "new beginning" "travel" and "study" cards which all said i made the right decision in choosing to move 650kms away in 3 months time to study.

I also got the "two-faced" card a few times which means i have someone in my life who will cause me much suffering and who is saying bad things about me to others. The lady asked me if id been having problems with friends lately, to which i replied: YES! She said to not listen to them, they are at fault, they are having problems with the fact i am going places and getting stronger.

I also got many cards telling me to stop letting my worries burden me [big suprise there] BUT also that i need to stop being lazy! [so true].

And finally i got 2 of the most strong cards in the entire deck [there is only 3 strength cards] in my 6 card layout [very rare] and the reader said i am an INCREDIBLY strong person but no-one [including myself] is giving me credit for that.

Other cards came up such as creativity, worries, nature, dreams and abundence and it seemed every card she drew described me perfectly. Im very cynical at times but there was not one moment when i thought to myself: "as if".

She said my future is one of the brightest she has ever seen, but then she pulled out the "nothingness" card which was the consequence if i did not follow my heart. I was to have one of the most enjoyable lives full of hapiness, adventure and abundance, but there will always be an anxiety burden to which i need to learn to dispell if i wish to move forward.

I walked out of that shop feeling more understanding, motivation and hapiness than i have for any $150 phycologist apointment. It was well worth it and an amazing experience.

1:51PM - The Cult of Mourning

The Museum at FIT unveiled a new website to celebrate the current "Gothic: Dark Glamour" exhibit, which has an entire section dedicated as an homage to the culture and fashions of Victorian mourning. It's well worth checking out ~ just make sure you have the sound turned on your computer to get the full effect...

They have one of my designs (the Midnight Bustle ensemble) featured on the Mourning page. For those who haven't yet seen the exhibit in person, my designs are located in the "Cult of Mourning" mise en scene, in the vignette right next to Mina's crimson gown from Copolla's "Dracula"!

Also ~ if you're interested, I've uploaded some photos from the opening reception on my website at: http://www.kambriel.com/exhibitopening.html

3:36PM - winter coat love

It hardly counts as an outfit post (but it's better than nothing, [info]yes_me_sofie ;)),
but I am so in love with my new coat I had to show off :D

I'm a dork, but please note my boyfriend, who took the photo's, asked my to do the poses :')
so yeah it's from Topshop, cost 72 pounds after student discount,
and you're meant to wear it as in the first picture,
but I prefer it the second way (more breathing space for the breasts!) :)

now show off your wintercoats!
