Proud little Brother Jake & our winner!

The breathtaking sunset on the way home. :)

Mom and I went down with Jake and had a great night. It ended earlier than usual but was so exciting to see her WIN! YAY Britt! Not too bad for a 13 year old driving a standard!

Holy thunder and lightning!! It kept Britt and I up passed 1:00 AM. SOOO tired today. Brittney caught some lightning on video though. Pretty neat. So shocked that my two boys snored right through it. The house was shaking!! Gotta love beautiful west coast weather!

Yay!

Have I mentioned how much I love our car? I had my Sister use Paul's truck to get our table home. When we went to recycle the boxes, they ALL fit in our car. We could have transported it ourselves. I just assumed it wouldn't fit. :)

*excuse crappy cell phone pics.. too lazy to use the real camera. lol

The table. :) Now, [info]kandi_bomber and I have twin couches & tables... that's how we roll with our good taste. lol

Amanda, Brittney, Summer and I went to Vancouver for a Fall Out Boy concert. Metro station, Hey Monday, and All Time Low played as well. It was awesome!! Best trip in a long time. It was so much fun hanging out with just the girls and getting to see a wicked show, live.

<3 More later.. I am about to head out to lunch.

Happy Easter to all, too by the way!

Griffy
My Mom wrote this email to myself, my two Sisters and our old Nanny, Penny.. It actually brought tears to my eyes. :)

* * *

Hi all,
I just had to share this little story about Griffen. Stacey had asked me if I could pick Griffen up at CRRS, and keep him until she got off work. She had picked him up from school, and Brittney was going to a basketball game after school.

I told Griffen that we would go over to Dollarama, so that he could pick out something, seeing as how he had so generously let Jacob have the little stuffed dog that Eva had given to Griffen for his birthday.

We went in and started looking. Well, there really isn't much to choose from that isn't crapy, but he naturally settled on a gun, with hand cuffs etc. He actually asked how many things he could get and I said a couple. So picked out two and that way he could play with Jacob, I suppose.

I wanted to look around for a couple of things so he tagged along with me, during which time he exclaimed that "Grandma you are the best Grandma". I said "oh that's nice, but your other Grandma is nice too". He said, "yea but she yells at Jacob and I when we turn around and around on the chair". I assume a swivle rocking chair. Oh well, far be it from me to talk him out of his ideas.

As usual, Griffen talks non stop, so it is really a good idea to just spend some one on one time with him.

We got to the car and he said "Grandma, when you get old and live in Yuculta, I will come and see you everyday". I said, "oh, that would be wonderful, that would make me so happy". I said, "maybe you could even take me shopping at the Dollar store sometimes". He said "yea, and I could give you a hundred dollars". Trying to keep a straight face I said "wow, I'm some lucky to have you as a Grandson".

I didn't know he even knew about Yuculta. Too funny. I said to him "I wonder where you will live in you are an adult?, hope it's not too far away from Yuculta".

Anyway, I just had to tell you this little story.

Cheers
Doris

So, last night I went over to see[info]kandi_bomber . We had planned this get together earlier in the week. I have been looking forward to some friend / adult time. :) At the last minute we invited Kyla over. (If you don't remember who that is, she was a super good friend of mine until she ended up dating, having babies, and marrying Brittney's Dad. We hated each other for MANY years. In the last couple months we've grown close again and become friends. I attribute a lot of that to our bond of hating Britt's Dad (they split up a year or two ago.)

Amanda, Kyla and I were all super good friends back in the day (Junior High Cheerleaders!!! hahah). I honestly cannot tell you how many years it's been since the three of us HUNG OUT??!!

Kyla came over and insisted on making us gin & club soda with lime. I am a hater of all things gin. She swore we'd like it and she was right! We sat around in Amanda's family room, laughing and talking and even snapped some pictures. (Send them Amanda, can't wait to see them!!)

I didn't make it home until almost 3:00 in the morning. So worth it. I'm working today and a little fuzzy headed, but thankful we all got to hang out and have such a great time. :)

Flashback to Grade 8, only now we're older, wiser and in my opinion - better looking! hahaha

Good times. :D

The remarkable thing is that we really love our neighbor as ourselves: we do unto others as we do unto ourselves. We hate others when we hate ourselves. We are tolerant toward others when we tolerate ourselves. We forgive others when we forgive ourselves. We are prone to sacrifice others when we are ready to sacrifice ourselves.~Eric Hoffer
