***IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE OR EASILY OFFENDED WITH RESPECT TO "FRIENDING", PLEASE NOTE: I have zero problem adding or dropping people at will -- or having it done to me -- so I usually do not feel any 'need' to post a whole explanatory entry about pruning my friends list. If you disappear, it should probably be fairly obvious to you why (could be a variety of reasons, but most commonly it is a lack of day-to-day interests or attitudes). And, to me, it's NO. BIG. THING. An LJ-add is not, to me, some sort of commitment to a side-by-side destiny -- it's chatting it up for a bit because we happen to occupy the same space. I've no problem with someone saying, "okay, see ya" and moving on for good after five minutes, and I've no hesitation in doing the same. If you think such things entail a whole Deeper Meaning and More Important Message (on LJ or in meatspace), you probably shouldn't be adding me in the first place because you would be reading *way* more into me than I like to contain in those areas. Bottom line: LJ is supposed to be make my life more *efficient*, not more complicated.

Well, the chinese horoscope has *this* to say about me:
"I am the seasoned traveler Of the Labyrinth.
The genius of alacrity,
Wizard of the impossible.
My brilliance is yet unmatched
In its originality.
My heart's filled with potent magic
That could cast a hundred spells.
I am put together
For mine own pleasure.
I am the Monkey."
Seems pretty apt.
Also, I am INTP (with a longer INTP description here, that also conveniently explains away my disregard for tidiness!) although I test out as INTJ just under half the times I've taken the test and actually sometimes prefer to think of myself as more of the latter. Mix that in with the Monkey and you've pretty much got me nailed -- doing so is the tricky bit, however.
(and for anyone who feels this information is relevant, I am also a Capricorn, with an Aquarius Rising and have a Moon Sign of Leo) I also self-identify as an anarcho-capitalist for the most part although, unlike many other ancaps, I do vote and I generally vote libertarian.
And, when I work (oh the freedom of freelance!), I work as a draftsman, which means I do things like this and thus satisfy my geekery bent.
I teach yoga to Kinder-2nd graders at my son's school, but I volunteer my time for that.
I am also very active, usually with my son at my side since he was two -- so that he may learn service as a lifestyle not an ideal -- with various children's causes, education reform organizations, refugee aid organizations and many hours at a no kill cat shelter.

Expect nothing deep here. Ya want deep, click the link to my blog where I like to drown in it.** This is where I intend to get stray bitching about losing my glasses and stuff out of my system so i don't do it around the house. Also, I tend to think of this journal as a "group email" and use it as such. I figure it will eliminate my getting nagged by friends -- near or far -- about being such an infrequent correspondent. This way, I only have to say things once! Also, I can rarely think of an appropriate title for my posts and in such cases I just use an adaptation of
**A note about the blog: That is the way heavier, deep, self-examining side of me. And almost all the entries are vague in that I do not name the events, people, relationships that are causing such thought. But, they are in general a good indicator of where I am ::sitting back in chair and pushing up glasses:: on a "deeper level". And, in general, they are ultimately about the *most* personal of my relationships, loves, lovers, life choices and decisions. There be no "where the fuck are the glasses I lost?!?!" there (although, there might be an esoteric pondering on the nature of loss! :) )
"And he tried to explain that the great changes rippling through his being had little to do with mysticism, in the sense of being magical or mystifying. "Truly, it is just pure technology, yes? This is what technology is: just consciousness reflected upon itself, gaining ever more control of itself and creating new forms.""
-- David Zindell
"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?"
-- Douglas Adams
"Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire."
-- Robert A. Heinlein
"I let go of all desire for the common good, and the good becomes as common as the grass."
--Lao Tsu
"... transhumanism doesn't need ill-informed people who go off on flights of 'what if' fancy. You know what? All of us have been doing that since we were five years old. What transhumanism needs is transhumanists. Not people who talk about it."
- Shannon Larratt
"When I hear somebody sigh, 'Life is hard,' I am always tempted to ask, 'Compared to what?'"
- Sydney Harris
"Seek those who find your road agreeable, your personality and mind stimulating, your philosophy acceptable, and your experience helpful. Let those who do not, seek their own kind."
- Henri Fabre
"Yesterday they called it coincidence; today, it's synchronicity; tomorrow they will call it...skill."
--Antero Alli
"Blah, blah, blah. Aren't you tired of making the same speech every time you're faced with a challenge?"
--Seto Kaiba
"At which point I realized that I'm living the life of a thirteen year old. But with a full wine fridge and a really great rack."

Every little bit helps. Or at least get on their mailing list. Really.
