Oh livejournal, I'm sorry I've neglected you. Let's see, what's been going on these last few weeks?
I decided to go to William and Mary! Really really pumped for that. I think the school and people seem awesome, so I'm looking forward to next year.
I've also been hanging out with new friends that I've met and I'm really happy about where my life is going!
I won a $500 scholarship yesterday for an Italian-Heritage essay contest! Life is good.

| it's been such a packed week so far! |
[08 Apr 2009|03:46pm] |
sooo it's spring break!
friday I went to starbucks with a few people and then went back to Jake's house where we played Scrabble, and that was fun. Saturday was the pillow fight on wall street! there were thousands of people there and it was like an extremely comfortable mosh pit although I was coughing up feathers after. then i went to emily's house with jen and we watched sweeney todd! and sunday was my grandma's 88th birthday so i spent the day in queens eating rainbow cookies and playing scrabble. and monday i went to see Adventureland with Jen and Brian and it was a hilarious movie! and yesterday was tuesday and i went to port jeff with ally and sam and then went to the mall with sam, shannon, seema, and jake, where we bought jake some new clothes and then i went to starbucks with eric who i met at a party a couple of weeks ago and that was fun and i made new friends, and then i went to a party at bharte's house where i reminisced with my elementary school best friend who i haven't spoken to in three years and i jammed to george michael and didn't drink at all and knighted brian with a plastic sword and it was awesome!
and now i'm home and last night i had weird insomnia: i fell asleep at 1.45 but woke up at like 5.45 and stayed awake for over an hour and then fell asleep till almost noon. verrrrry weird!

| Thinking. |

So I'm coming to the end of highschool. It's weird knowing I won't be living on Long Island next summer. I went to the beach last week and I've been driving around near the water and it's so beautiful and peaceful and I really love it here. I know that I'll probably be happy at whatever college I choose to attend but I think I'll miss it. The Sound, the salty water that burns every crack in your leg, the jutting rocks, the swans, the marshes, the smell of low tide, the sea gulls that steal your bagels, the seaweed, the Atlantic, the lighthouses. IDK a lot of people say "I can't wait to get off LI!" when they graduate highschool but I don't feel that way. Long Island is a part of me and I've always felt connected to the coast. I'm just feeling a little sad I guess.

| New York City |
[02 Feb 2009|09:56pm] |
The other day when we were waiting for our train in Penn station, there was a Beatles tribute band playing near the board that states which track the trains will be on and everyone was dancing and singing along: old, young, white, black, rich, poor, etc etc and it was nice to feel like I was sharing experiences with other humans.
In other news, I lived up to the Boitano name and went ice skating and it didn't end in disaster.

| Two nightmares last night |
[01 Feb 2009|07:43pm] |
Have you all ever had a nightmare where YOU are the bad guy and bad things happen to your life because you're doing bad things? I had a nightmare last night that I shot someone, but I can't remember if it was my math teacher or my friend's mom or something, but either way, I woke up at 4:30 in the morning practically in tears because what a horrendous thought, right?
Then I fell back asleep and had another nightmare that I was being held captive with a whole bunch of other people by this random blonde-haired girl at my cousin's house and I don't know why I was being held captive because this girl was could have obviously been overpowered by all the people that were stuck there and she never presented any kind of weapon. Very strange. I woke up just as the police were going to come to free everyone.

| Feelin Kinda Lonley Lately? |
[13 Jan 2009|07:24pm] |
School and everything's been going okay but I guess I haven't been feeling all too great. New Year's resolution is to stop eating fast food so maybe that will make me feel more energized. I'm also dieting for senior banquet/international night next month!
I feel like maybe I alienate people sometimes to make them avoid talking to me so that's going to end hah.
My friends have been awesome recently it's just like... IDK. I wish my family was more positive. There's a lot of negativity all the time and I don't like it.
I just want to find out what schools I get into ahhh. Although I have a few things to look forward to.

| It's been an exciting weekend |
[21 Dec 2008|11:27am] |
Sooo after the snow shenanigans on Friday afternoon, I managed to get into another snow thing with Laura hah. We were trying to leave our house, but our car got stuck on a bump of snow on the bottom of the driveway (the ones created by plows). We foolishly thought we could just drive over it and the car just got more stuck. SO realizing this predicament, we got some shovels from the house (and this was about 9.45 at night) and started shoveling. I have never shoveled snow in my life and we must have transported like 200 pounds at least. I was wearing completely inappropriate snow gear (a wool jacket, cottom gloves, and designer boots which were not made for snow) and my hands were freeeezing but we finally got the car to go back up the driveway. We got back inside and my we couldn't stop laughing because we felt so ridiculous for shoveling snow till around 11 at night and my parents had absolutely no idea that we were still out there. We had opened the garage, retreived shovels, and yelled while outside but they didn't hear us. Weird.
Then yesterday I went into the city with my famiglia. We went to John's Pizza (the one in the theatre district) and I ran into none other than Mr. and Mrs. Gallucci (Ms. Belli)! It was extremely weird to see teachers from my school at a restaurant 50 miles from where I live but pretttty exciting. After eating we went to see The Fantasticks, and the play was in a reallly small theatre so no one was more than 30 feet from the stage. We were in the second row AND THE MALE LEAD WAS PLAYED BY THE DOUCHEY GUY WHO WON THE AMAZING RACE THIS SEASON. I KNOW. I was starstruck the whole time hahahahaha. That was an interesting surprise as well.
All in all, goooood weekend.

| Writer's Block: Small Economies |
[16 Dec 2008|05:18pm] |
IDK I haven't really been affected by this failing economy. I'm usually pretty thrifty regardless so I think I'm going to make most of my Christmas presents as I usually do. I see a lot of shirt-stenciling in my future.

| Writer's Block: AIDS Awareness |
[01 Dec 2008|06:42pm] |
Welll everyone knows about HIV Peer Educators Club. This year I think we successfully educated freshmen about the dangers of AIDS, esp that you can contract HIV through unprotected oral sex if you're the one giving it so that's a little known fact that can be extremely helpful to anyone. I consider myself something of an expert when it comes to AIDS transmission, so if you have a question, don't be afraid to ask!

| School's been not so great lately. |
[18 Nov 2008|09:53pm] |
IDK, I haven't had a grrreat time at school recently.
Got a C on a math test that I thought I did well on, didn't get elected to anything in English Honor Society, got in an argument with a security guard (as per usual).
Ahh I just want this whole stressful college thing to end so I can know where I'm going (hopefully Yale or W&M!) and just be over with it.
At least I have my murder mystery party to look forward to! It should be fun and that's something to take my mind off things at least.

| YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY ANNOYS ME |
[14 Nov 2008|10:33pm] |
When musicians who are obviously not from new york (COUGH COUGH CONOR OBERST) try to act like they're legit new yorkers. like this line in a song "i always get lost when i leave the village / so i couldn't come meet you in brooklyn last night". WHAT. First off all greenwich village has THE most confusing street structure; it's not gridded and the streets aren't numbered so it's actually much more difficult to get around. also, you can learn the subway system after living in ny for literally two weeks so it's not even that difficult.
fail, conor. fail.

[01 Nov 2008|08:22pm] |
YESTERDAY WAS HALLOWEEN!! A lot of funny costumes at school and I love seeing how all-out people get. Entertaining even though I didn't dress up. After school, Ally and I took the train into the city and went to the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade! We saw the Ferris Bueller float and there were a whole bunch of interesting people walking around and it was really fun! Scoped out babes and stuff. On the subway, we both saw MR. RAISHER! the crazy physics teacher who has pictures of him on the internet holding stuffed unicorns and who used to buy anime trading cards on ebay during class last year. He tried to escape but he could not! Crazy guy.
Today I went to go visit Yale!!! It was gorgeous and amazing and there was a cute tour guide and it had a great sense of community about it. I expected to see annoying yacht-club type students there but I didn't get that vibe at all. I reallllly want to get in. Yale, accept me please! I'll be a good student, I promise! Also, on a side note, Anderson went there so really can it get any better.
Hahaha I was typing in facebook in my address bar before but I almost accidentally wrote "racebook". I wonder what kind of site that wuold bring me to.
