Rant ranty rant rant growl snarl rant )

So.

Writer's Block: Your First Record [18 Jul 2008|09:36am]

What was the first music album you ever bought or owned? Do you still listen to it or have you moved on?

The first music album I ever owned was called "Songs of the Pogo"... the cover was fairly pink and had a picture of Pogo. There were a lot of weird songs that I didn't really understand, but I used to listen to it all the time because it was MINE.

I don't know who thought POGO was appropriate for a 2 year old.

This song in particular was my favorite but I totally didn't UNDERSTAND it...

Don't Sugar Me

Oh, I may be your cup of tea,
But, baby, don’t you ‘Sugar’ me!
Don’t stir me, boy, nor try to spoon,
Don’t sugar me, cause us is throon!

I won’t sip a lip with you, less
You want a granulated lump or two,
Just roll them eyes right out that door,
Them saucer eyes ain’t square no more.

All them things, them diamond rings,
Them stuff you promised me,
Were figments, Newton, sure as shootin’,
Shootin’ sure as A, B, see

The teapot pouts that the kettle’s blue,
It don’t work out that spar is true,
Just boil away, boy, don’t sit and brew,
Don’t sugar me, cause us is through!

The album has a LOT of weird songs, totally not insipid like 'children's music'... and apparently this is available on Amazon... hrmmm I think I'm gonna add it to my wish list! I moved on, hehe. I haven't heard these tunes since I was 4-5 years old.

Here's more of the lyrics:

Twirl, Twirl

Twirl! Twirl! Twinkle between!
The tweezers are twist in the twittering twain.
Twirl! Twirl! Entwiningly twirl
‘Twixt twice twenty twigs passing platitudes plain.

Plunder the plover and rover rides round.
Ring all the rungs on the brassily bound,
Billy, Swirl! Swirl! Swingingly swirl!
Sweep along swoop along sweetly your swain.

Why I haven't posted recently [18 Jul 2008|09:05am]

It's been about like it's continuing to be. I have a day off now so maybe I can get some work done!

To do:
Have lunch with Sara
Finish website re-design for MAHD by the 31st
Begin working on repackaging assignment today
Finish repackaging assignment by Sunday
Write book review by today
Reading for Collection Development by next Friday
Finish statistics for work by next Thurs.
Start planning for next SLA communications event
Meet with Jason about SLA website
Update poll on SLA website
Continue volunteering at Clark on Mondays (but try to get them to begin paying me)
Find a full time job doing what I love
Find a 3 bedroom (or over 1,000 sq. feet) house to rent for $1300 on a street lower than 52nd without a crazy landlord or floor plan from hell, possibly with air conditioning and a yard bigger than a postage stamp, hopefully before August 1st
Update my infogarden blog with the three posts I've promised various people I'd make by now
Edit the interviews of my friends for Youtube that I've had sitting in the queue for over two months now
Help Michelle move because I just listened to my voice mail and she's in town this weekend?
Figure out when the memorial lunch is for my grandfather so I can be sure to attend (maybe it's this month?)
Before the memorial lunch, put together all relevant family photos in a nice display
Clean the bathroom (and maybe the rest of the house too?)
Renew the title on my car before August
That's it!

The photos of this pair knit ruby slipper socks for babies keep cracking me up. Yes Wicked Witch of the East! (from craftyzine). Aren't they just perfect for goth babies?

My clairvoyance is usually extremely random and visions that I don't know the people or places. I have seen murders before.

My clairvoyance causes me alot of mental problems because I cannot place so much of it.

"Hideaway" helped me to understand that I am not crazy because I have visions.

I deeply understand and deeply identify with Hatch in "Hideaway". We have the same problems and issues that are so similiar and if I had a daughter I would be overly protective.

That's a real special film.

I just bought "Hideaway" at Amazon.com. My favorite movie and most descriptive of my problems with the problems of Hatch (Jeff Goldblum).

It was previously stolen from me.

I feel that my being alive now is against God because my life was taken by God twice. I'm not supposed to be here and seeing all these dead people and seeing all this painful, wasteland of a planet has left. It's a horrible planet. I won't return. I just wanted to go home and I was supposed to. I feel jipped by these resitations.

I'm so much like Hatch (Jeff Goldblum) in "Hideaway". We have the same problems.

I would kill a guy that is trying to hurt any woman.

why does your stomach hurt?
Y no sé, I'm medicated, how are you?
Estabilizada y what not.
WHY DOES YOUR STOMACH HURT?
Perfecto no era, so so so, why does my stomach hurt?
Ache no es la palabra para la ocasión.
No es tan grave. 23, 24, 40, cuántas fueron?
Bah, dejame en paz de todas formas, yo estoy medicada.
Yo estoy a punto de llorar.
WHY?
Dejá de mirar.
En serio, dejalo ahí.

Yo arruino todo, yo rompo espejos, paredes, ventanas, armarios, cráneos. Anything you want.
Hoy me miré al espejo y te sonreí aunque no estabas.
(perdón)
Mañana.
(perdón, perdón, perdón, perdón)
Neptuno miente.

Beautiful moon tonight.

I'm congested and achy. I'm not sure what my weekend plans are now. If I still feel like this tomorrow night, I'm not going anywhere.

Time to sleep, or at least try.

I didn't learn how to be tender and passive like my father until I became a man. I began giving of myself when I became a man.

I has BOOTY! Arrrr! [18 Jul 2008|01:45pm]

I really like to shop. I don't get to do it much because it involves money and we don't usually have any but it looks like, despite having days off, Heath got paid his incentives afterall! (Could management be getting a clue? o_O)

So I went off in Lindcraft yesterday. On top of buying the sewing machine (Brother LS 2125) I got
  • 2m of black pretend leather,
  • a meter of cherry red and white gingham
  • 1 sheer sparkly pink offcut and
  • another cute offcut of material that's blue with silver stars.
  • a bunch of thin ribbons in various colours,
  • four reels of good quality cotton in various colours,
  • some bias tape, and
  • 1m of wadding (aka batting).

Lindcraft has a lot more of the cherry red and white gingham at the shop so I have plans of using it as the basis for decorating baby's room. There is only so much baby pink a mother can handle looking at you know.

The day before I also had fun op-shopping. There's a Treasure Trove Op-Shop on Broadway down here in Rezza and the women in there are so nice! I got
  • a bent but probably fixable musical mobile for the baby's crib,
  • a big shaggy bedspread thing in black white and brown stripes that will make a good big retro rug for the TV room,
  • a skirt that will never fit me but is in a lovely red material that I can use for something else I'm sure,
  • 4 baby blankets in various colours,
  • 2 baby sized soft flannelette sheets striped in lovely colours,
  • a soft furry red cushion cover,
  • and a giant black knitted shirt-dress.
Actually, it's probably just a jumper but it really is giant and in almost brand new condition so I'm wearing it like a dress because I can, and it was only $6!

I don't think I've left anything out. Ah! I'm so excited! All the stuff I can make!
