I think I saw a ghost today.

My boyfriend and I drove to his friend's house to drop off something. I stayed in the car while he went inside. I was looking around when I saw a woman through one of the windows. She looked busy doing something. I figured she must be the girlfriend who lives with him.

When my boyfriend came back into the car, I told him I saw his friend's girlfriend. She had short brunette hair, a thin face and was wearing a grayish blue sweater. He looked at me and said "No effing way!". Turns out the girlfriend wasn't home and she doesn't look anything like my description. The friend was all by himself in that house. Whaadda?!?!

This rarely happens to me. In fact, it only happened once before. I was 9 years old when I first saw a ghostly apparition. Since then, I've moved out of our house and lived in a 150-year old mansion (not mine) that used to be a nursing home but I never saw a ghost, I did however hear someone call my name and I was by myself at that time.

Anyway, I don't know if my eyes were just playing tricks on me. Or if my bf's friend is secretly having an affair w/ that woman. And if it is in fact a ghost, she looked harmless.

Pero skeery parin!

My friend works for Costco and shares her office with HR. Yesterday a filipino in his 50's was being interviewed for a food court job.

HR: So do you think you're qualified for this position?
Fil: Yes! uhh...becos i am...uuuhhhhhhhhhh...self-absorbent!
HR: ????

At the end the poor guy didn't get the job.

I voted and he won! Yay!

I was gonna get the Sun-Times the day after, but when I got to the newspaper box I saw my bus coming. I thought I could just get the paper later, pero sold out na lahat. Boo!

Subject:Tokyo Trip
Time:12:18 pm
Tokyo was so much fun! The main objective of the trip was to shop, shop and shop some more, w/c I did pretty well up to my last $3.50 - to be exact.

Highlights & Observations:
- the first day we went around, we took the wrong train going back to our hotel

- we felt an earthquake for about 10-15 secs.

- the japanese people are very nice, especially the young ones. the pretty girls don't look at you from head to toe. they mind their own business.

- there was only one person - an old lady - who gave us an attitude. she was actually very nice at first, but since she can't speak english and we can't speak japanese, she gave up trying to explain about an item my boyfriend wanted to buy and so she shooed us away.

- everybody walks on the left. w/c i still do up to now.

- they have the best customer service

- my boyfriend asked this one sales guy what kind of leather this one bag was made of, my boyfriend didn't get it at first, so the guy crouched down and hopped around a bit w/ sound effects to match "tokotok-tokotok" "ponee" "ponee"....ahh Pony!

- i saw a truck with a logo that says PANTHER and an image of a cheetah. winner!

I may have to add more to this list, if I remember everything.

Subject:welcome back! i missed me!
Time:06:29 pm
yes, i miss me. i am so into myself that i miss reading my own lj. this is probably my first and last entry for the year though, i have ningas cugon complex kasi eh, hanggang umpisa lang ako.

anyway, when i'm at work i listen to virgin radio on my iTunes. kanina the dj's topic was pretty interesting, it was about putting some light on the rumor that TUBE (train) operators who witnessed suicides on the tracks are given by the company a hefty sum of money and unlimited (paid) vacation days. there was one confirmed pero he works for a different railway company, he got £275K, and he gave it to charity. but then again - the trauma! i wonder if it's the same if they ran over a deer, a kuneho or a big white elephant. maybe not.

osha, my ningas is dying down.

so here's the gist of the tour.

we landed in munich. after checking in to our hotel, we took the train to go downtown. i didn't even have the time to freshen up a bit. kasi mga kasama ko laging on the go.

we had side trips to nürnberg and salzburg (germany), pero the tour we took talaga was for prague-vienna-budapest.

prague - our local tour guide was miska. she was very nice pero her accent is so thick, monotone pa magsalita.

miska: we arrr going to hell
tito ric: o ayan pupunta daw tayong impyerno

(what miska really meant was - "we are going up the hill")

and she kept saying "picasso", so kami naman todo hanap kay picasso (picture, poster) or any of his works. what's picasso doing in the czech republic? yun pala she meant "big castle".

vienna - nakuu, i gave in to temptation here. i shopped. i know mas malaki value ng euro kesa sa dollar, and i bought before i converted. the only thing that stopped me from shopping more was the $400 maximum, if i exceed that then i get taxed sa customs going back here. i did pretty good - $385 (parang trading spaces, you can't exceed the $1k budget).

budapest - i loved budapest the best! may pagka manila, pero cleaner. i saw a sari-sari store. and the people are a lot nicer. and i learned to say cheers in hungarian...egeszegedre! our tour guide said, we can forget the words that we learned during our trip except one - egeszegedre! kasi she likes saying it daw, and ako naman uto uto, i can't get it out of my mind.

so all in all. i loved europe, iba and dating. though i don't think i can live in the places we've been, siguro pwede pa sa paris (but then again, i've never been there). most places that's been under the iron curtain, yung mga tao don't know how to smile. lalo na sa germany. my aunt nga asked pa this one store owner howcome nobody smiles in their country, kasi he of all people we've encountered was the only one who smiled a lot. he just said it is not common in their country. history has got something to do with it.

if there's another thing i'd like to complain about but can do nothing is the smoking. wala silang smoking areas. they smoke everywhere, even in your face. ikaw ang umiwas, they won't budge. so if they smoke lantaran in my fez, i fan their smoke in their fezes too.

and one more thing is the language barrier. it was useless to talk to them in english because they won't get it, so point on this and make hand gestures nalang. so while we were at a deli in vienna, my aunt wanted her sandwich cut in half, sabi nalang niya "pwedeng pakiputol?" with her hand doing the cutting of the bread gesture. the lady got it naman, and we were all happy. =D

i'm still here (like somebody misses me naman). i've just been so busy at work, that when i get home i don't wanna face the computer anymore. my nights are too short and i've to sleep early pa =(

but i'm so looking forward to next week. bakasyon ako, yaaaay!!! hopefully i don't get that freaking bird flu. it has reached poland, w/c is right next to germany (tama ba?). dapat ko bang iwasan lahat ng ibong makita ko? what do i gots to do?!?

anyway, to the very few who are on my lj friends list. even if i don't update regularly, doesn't mean i don't read your ljs. so please don't scrap me off your list. engk u!
