Red Room Hello. I have been working on this painting for a solid two months, and now it is more or less done. I am pretty pleased with it. Soon I will go to the Met and see the Michelangelo painting they just got in. It is the only Michelangelo currently in the US. He painted it when he was 12. But for now, I will enjoy what I have done. | | Thursday, September 11th, 2008 | | 11:33 pm |
Hey did all of you crazy news junkies catch the Sarah Palin interview with Charlie Gibson? Here was the highlight: I feel much better now, because we know what we are getting into. | | Tuesday, March 18th, 2008 | | 9:41 pm |
Save Zee Date Collision Machine 4-26

Please come to the event. I am considering raffling a small painting. Getting an H. Morgan for a dolla is reason enough, no? But there will also be art, bands, and a bar on the roof.
EDIT: My long lost *Dad* is also going to come, I believe. That's right, people who have known me for a long time, my actual father might just materialize. That is an exhibit unto itself. | | Friday, January 4th, 2008 | | 10:50 am |

Eventastic REMINDER
Please come to the Salon and see the art, see the bottom of a glass, see monkeys that fly, and toast my birthday. I heard some of you Boston people will be in town, which I am very excited about, please spread the word to the non-lj folk (do such people still exist?) Votin' in da Primary
I went down to the poll this morning and did my civic duty. Tonight I think i am going to go down to Patrick headquarters with Craig to get a Deval Patrick sign to hit people over the head with. I will be very happy if one of the last things I do in this state is to replace "the Mitt" with a black democrat. I also want to plug John Bonifaz for Secretary of State. He is a Constitutional lawyer and founder of the Voting Rights Institute. He also wrote a book about why the Iraq war is illegal and the President should be impeached. And he won a genius grant. | | Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006 | | 1:05 pm |

Like a lot of you, I have been completely frustrated by the fact that our administration is an unstoppable monstrosity that acts even against the will of the American people, and Congress has either been totally complicit or too cowardly to do anything about it. The reaction of the public has been described as "muted protest". That's us. Well, ordinary people don't have too many channels to express themselves beyond the voting booth, unless we plan to take up arms or start having secret "sons of liberty" meetings. Anyway, here is some of the folly we have had to bear mute witness to:
-the White House is working together with Congress on a bill that would eliminate illegal wiretapping, by making it legal. Now there's an idea, if it's one thing the president needs, it is more power- give it to him, so he doesn't have to bother simply taking it!
-the house and the senate just passed a bill that criminalizes helping a minor to obtain an abortion out-of-state in order to bypass parental notification laws, with no exceptions for cases where the minor has been abused. It would be really great for our society to jail family members who try to help kids in trouble. Q: What do you call a kid who has been impregnated by her gin-soaked pappy? A: Mom!
-the PM of the government that we set up in Iraq said yesterday that he supports Hezbollah and wants to maintain close ties with Iran. So to recap, 14,000 Iraqis died this year, 2,500 Americans casualties total, and all in the service of setting up another potential US foe. Well, if that ain't success!
-we do have one thing to be grateful for- we have a legislature that is pursuing what is really close to the American heart: banning gay marriage, ratifying a constitutional amendment against flag burning, and putting your grandma in jail.
Giving control of the legislature back to the Democrats might be our only hope for standing up to this.
If you disagree, don't take offense, just don't give. | | Sunday, April 23rd, 2006 | | 4:48 am |

Back on the Rack
I came in from SF at 7 this morning, and went straight to work a ten hour day. To pay for more vacation club, naturally. I didn't write a travelogue. San Francisco is way up there in Places I Could Live. It's big but it doesn't act like it is too cool for school, and it has nature and trannies. Some highlights were -dropping a few bucks at Amoeba. They have only records that you want and do not already have. It is a dangerous place. -the conservatory. Sweating and giant orchids, just like that scene in the Big Sleep. -my second drive up the Pacific Coastal Highway. It's the thrillsphere! -lots of crepes, not much sleep -Boy in Static, names in lights! -giant trees -some tiki and some faggery -sharing the LOAD! Sweet dreams Abby, your nest ist the schnazzest! East Coast people, I am po', but seriously come over and eat Rice a Roni, my Tenderonis. | | Friday, September 2nd, 2005 | | 10:44 am |
You may have such drives in effect at your own workplace, but for any of you in Boston who want to donate food, children's clothes, blankets, etc... to disaster relief in NOLA, I am collecting things this weekend to bring to my office drive next tuesday. | | Thursday, August 4th, 2005 | | 4:03 pm |
I heard a rumor that I have a new job. I haven't signed anything yet- the official offer is still pending a background check. Why this place should care that I am an in-debt former stripper is beyond me, but they Want to Know. Hey guys, I didn't inhale, much. Anyway, I am getting really annoyed with my current position- they keep increasing my work and cutting my overtime. My new job means more money and it's a short walk to the new apartment. Cambridge ahoy! The building has a rear entrance right on the esplanade, so I can sit on the riverbank at lunch. I am going to get a celebratory espresso frappucino. Yuppielicious! J. thinks I should get a scooter with the new dough, like a little primavera or something. That boy thinks a lot of things. | | Saturday, July 30th, 2005 | | 10:39 am |

My mother and stepfather were fond of telling me, growing up, that if I didn't quit being such a loudmouthed smartass, I would be going nowhere fast. Well, I have never been one to heed the advice of the tedious. Today I took my big mouth over to the Boston Common and City Hall to protest the appointment of right wing justices to the Supreme Court. That democracy is for women, too, is something I feel very strongly about. My impassioned expressions and large sunglasses garnered me some notice from the organizers- they have asked me to help out with future events. Next time I will be in a pink dress and scarlet lipped, if any of you ladies care to join me. I hope I didn't end up on tv. I was supposed to be at work. | | Friday, July 8th, 2005 | | 1:53 pm |
Oh Lordy, THIS
This can't be real. But I enjoy the fact that someone out there knows that we want to know what Dave Navarro did this morning!

more internet advice
You might remember me from such tips as "don't do a google image search for "finger". Today I read a blog written by a sex offender who killed an entire family two days after the last entry. He had a real thing for the Lord. And of course child rapin'. Don't google things that you read about in the news. | | Monday, June 27th, 2005 | | 4:41 pm |
At Last, a meme
[Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one reason why I like/love/adore you. Then put this in your own journal and spread the love.] FINALLY, your chance to hear my real opinion, which I would NEVER otherwise reveal. | | Tuesday, June 21st, 2005 | | 11:18 am |
Happy Birthday Jussi! For your birthday I am going to buy you a Bic lighter, and use it to set your house on fire. No, no, no, I am going to buy you a puppy, dressed all in roller skates, and teach him how to hug you. Today I read something that Maya Angelou said, "people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did (good news!), but people will never forget how you made them feel." For your birthday I hope I can reflect some of your joy back at you. ...singing something that ends in la la. |
