While it's the cover shoot, it ended up not being the actual cover photo. The actual cover was a photo I took last year of Neil taking a Behind The Scenes tour of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology given by Dr. Brad Hafford (you can read about that here. The photo that I'd actually taken for the cover ended up on a full page on the inside, which is fine, because it's a better photo and the cover had an ad on it that needed to be fit in, so the one I liked better got an uncluttered layout. There were about six different cover variants, of which I got to see the final two. ( more of the story behind this cutCollapse ) Later in photoshop I burned in the edges to darken the bottom of his jacket and most of the street behind him -- this draws your eyes to the subject -- there are two things you want the photo to say "Neil" and "Philadelphia", and here you have it. Wasting money [20 May 2013|12:18am] manekikoneko by not posting. I just went through my friends page and I had to go back almost a week. I could mark the time specifically from Cleolinda's recap of "Sorbet", last week's Hannibal, to her recap of this week's episode, "Fromage", plus everything that was posted Sunday. Here are some things: Everyone who can stomach tolerate some gore should be watching Hannibal, cuz it's awesome and I want NBC to pick it up for, at this point, at least a midseason replacement 13 episode 2nd season. C'mon, NBC. Don't let Amazon grab it, forcing me to pay them directly instead of purchasing products, maybe. Although if NBC does do something stupid (they've already set that precedent for their upcoming fall season), I hope someone, even Amazon, does pick it up and keep it going, because I really want to see who else Bryan Fuller gets to play killers, and also if he can really get David Bowie to play Lecter's uncle. Everyone should also see the new Star Trek ASAP, and just enjoy it, dammit. Also also, Star Trek has the best music, for reals. (Even if some of the tracks have dumb titles. It is the lensflare of song names.) I found a Youtube lady who does tutorials for Edwardian hairstyles, omg. However, I have been getting the most use out of the tutorials of a pair of sisters who own a hair extensions company and do a lot of videos that focus on 1) long hair, and more importantly 2) quick hairstyles. Which mostly end up being modern things with braids, etc. (Vintage hairdos are cool, but I don't think most of them were intended for people who have to move around all day, climb ladders, push carts, etc.) There was also family drama recently, but I'd rather talk about TV. Shows about serial killers are much less depressing than real life. close the world.
