What kind of cruelty Allows justice to be administered Punishment to be meted out By an arbitrary judge?
What kind of power Is great enough That it can give One control over another That it can be complete Even when divided?
What kind of right Is joined by cruelty and power?

i saw this the other night and it was mesmerizing.. kubrick had worked on this project since the 70's but because he did not think that the CG was advanced enough to create the david character, he handed it over to spielberg. it was not until kubricks death that spielberg started to go into production. spielberg said he tried to replicate kubrick's style and that can be seen throughout the film but it was executed in total spielberg fashion.
Haley Joel Osment was frighteningly believable as the mecha robot. as i was watching this, i felt increasingly sad, for david, for human beings, for the world. everything from the story to the visuals to the actors were beyond terrific. the only thing i didnt like about a.i. was its multiple endings. like as soon as i thought it was going to end, something else started to happen...
there were a few other things i didnt like but i dont want to spoil it for those who havent seen it...
what did you think? did you like it? what didnt you like?

| Fly Away |

I pray doves had never discovered heaven in sky, Then their beautiful presence would not have to die. I gave you my heart to safely keep, You flooded me with tears to weep. You claimed to have found solace in my love, Yet you flew away on the wings of a dove. You found heaven in new embrace, Happiness reflects on your face. I used to mirror your every emotion, But that was when I had your devotion. Your joy I cannot mimic, My smile is but a gimmick. I wish in my arms you had stayed, I wish your love had never swayed. I’m glad you found someone you love more, I just wish I had been enough for you to adore. I lie by saying I’m happy for you, I can’t feel when I’m a half of two. I wonder if you ever miss me, Or reminisce what we used to be. Did you lose yourself in her siren eyes? Or did you lose me between her thighs? I wish you had returned me my heart, Instead of slowly ripping it apart.

I realized that since I started grad school, I haven't taken the time to do photography for myself anymore. I missed it. So on my week off, I took a trip to the Canadian side of Niagara falls to do just that.
In any case, here's my favorite. I got lucky and went on a night with fireworks.

| The Rocker Review |
[20 Aug 2008|11:24pm] |
While the box-office hasn't been kind to the employees of Dunder-Mifflin, Rainn Wilson is hoping to change that with his new film, The Rocker - and I can honestly say that he does it!!! Combining a great cast and a great soundtrack, the film overcomes its stereotypical plot to entertain one and all! Check out my review HERE and be sure to let me know your thoughts.

This 1990 flick with Tim Robbins is one of my favorites. Not because I like it, but because it's one of those films that produces outrageous arguments among movie buffs! Watch it the first time; it's impossible to figure out what the hell is going on. Watch it again; you'll analyze it to death. Then you'll read the reviews, which either (1) gleefully point out that if you didn't "get" it - you are a mental midget who can't appreciate true art, or (2) point out the mishmash of plot lines that make it a piece of self-absorbed silliness. Great movie for generating argument.
