i heard that they were shooting around here today; they had the streets closed off and made everyone move their cars off the street, but i didn't see anything happening. :( woulda been cool to watch it from our window, it overlooks the street they closed off.

okay, i need everyone's help. under the cut is a bunch of images. i need you to tell me which ones definitely do, or definitely don't belong in my portfolio. this isn't a professional portfolio, i'm just trying to get into SVA's animation department. they want mostly life drawings. don't click on the cut if you have a slow internet connection, and THANK YOU for helping me put this together.

the ones that make it into my portfolio will be edited, of course, and some of them re-shot, if they're a little blurry. and UGH i rotated some of them and it didn't save! sorry. anyway, i just need you guys to look at the drawings themselves, and tell me which ones you think suck and shouldn't be sent in.

EDIT: also, obviously when i send them in you won't be able to tell that they're all from the same damn notebook; i'm going to crop them and whatnot so they look waaay nicer. and i know that i'm the shittiest photographer ever. okay, onto the show.

okay, so i want to start watching dr. who. i've seen a bunch of episodes, from different seasons/ different doctors, but i want to sit down and really get into the storyline. the problem is, i don't have the time to watch all of them, there being approximately 1 billion episodes.

so. who's your favorite doctor? which one should i start off with? i suppose i'll eventually get around to watching them all, but i want to start off with a really good season. so tell me your favorite.

supa rough concept sketches for my EPIC one minute film.

it's in a animator-friendly edward gorey style. the woman is in an abusive relationship with the katydid (which i drew from memory so i guess it doesn't look too much like a katydid yet; it will when i animate it) and the man is in love with her and wants to marry her. if that storyline doesn't pan out, i'm gonna animate an edward gorey story. or maybe just a few scenes from one. with dialogue! YEAAAAAH FUCK YEAH

ugh, woke up too damn early this morning. have an appointment for a student massage at cortiva, but i can't remember if it's at 9:00 or 9:30. stupid me. i'm thinking 9:30, but i don't want to take the chance. blegh. sleep cycle all messed up. maybe waking up early today will fix it.

THEN i have this huge project to do that i totally and completely put off until the last minute. it's due tomorrow evening. UGH FAAAAAAAIL

oh! right. also, found my old ipod i thought i lost and sold it on craigslist last night. now i'm going to use the money to buy a ds. shouldn't have sold my old ds in the first place, but whatevs. i wanted a tattoo. i wanted electroplankton for it, but i can't find it anywhere under fifty bucks. geezus. i've already been outbid on ike three ebay auctions. whatever, i'm not paying that much for it. oh! and i decided to buy endless ocean for wii. :DDD hooray.

oh, simon gallaher... *sigh* such a pretty voice. and he pulls off that fairly heavy vibrato beautfully, unlike say, nathan lane (don't get me wrong, i adore nathan lane, it's just that vibrato, it's insane).

poll: should i skip class tomorrow?

pros:

it'll just be a work day, and i can do that anywhere (she doesn't really teach, she just gives us assignments and we work on them for six hours)

i didn't finish my homework (20 frames to go- that's two seconds missing, she'd notice)

if i stay home i can do the dishes and get stuff done for other classes instead of fucking around for the last two hours like i usually do

i hate getting up at 8 for class

cons:

i actually do like that class

if i stay home i'll have to help with the laundry and do dishes

i have to go downtown anyway to get foamcore

i'll end up sleeping 'til noon if not forced to be awake for class

i'll probably decide in the morning based on how tired i am and how guilty i feel. aw, fuck. why the internal conflict?
