I'm sooo loving David Yates!! And i'm sooo glad he's sticking around for the next movie!

If you don't care much for spoilers, then feel free to watch these two vids.

What an unforgettable Mother's Day it was.

Ever.

My sister became a mother on Mother's Day.

My mother became a grandmother on Mother's Day.

I became this old forty year old lady on Mother's Day.

And a bright fair baby boy was brought on earth on Mother's Day. May 13th 2007.

The day we welcome a new member into our already ever humongous family. Making it a total of 10.

I'm too tired for details, but the following happened today.

My mom planned a secret get together at our granny's house to surprise our grandmother on Mother's Day. Turns out, she'll be the last person to arrive at our granny's house cos' She had to accompany my sister who's already in labor. One week early.

At 1.30pm, my sister safely gave birth to a healthy 3.5kg baby boy. He goes by the name, Mohd Amir Haris Bin Zulkarnain. Check him out below.

I pity that boy. Exams must be a bitch cos' he has such a long name to spell out. Lolz.

Anyways, fast forward all the details, we managed to have a fun filled Mother's Day celebration over at my Granny's and boy was she surprised. She managed to enjoy a day with all her kids and grandkids and plus, she became a great grand mother all in a day.

That's why its a Mother's Day Miracle/Madness.

Videos of the baby at the hospital at my Youtube Account for those who bother.

Man, this show is sadder than 1 litre of tears, that I cried at least a reservoir of tears, and its not even completed yet.

14 Sai No Haha or 14 year old mother is seriously a story about the strongwilled 14 year old girl who has to overcome all sorts of obstacles in raising a child on her own. It has the same ingredients as 1 Litre of Tears, though this time, its not about incurable illness, but the stigmatization that the society has on pregnant teenagers.

Its definitely a must-see for all Japanese drama lovers. Plus, the entire cast is so "kawaii"! :)

Exams are just round the corner and I have yet to start cracking on my revisions. I still have another essay and a presentation to go, and its already the last week of my university life. Man, i'm going to miss NUS. Or rather, I'm gonna miss the free internet connection and the privilege of subsidized tertiary bus concession rates. I'm also gonna miss having the abundance of excuses to give my parents whenever I want to stay out late at night. *Sigh*

I still feel the urge to procrastinate, even though I'm left with a week for revisions. However, it seems that I have completely run out of things to procrastinate with. I've watched millions of E.T & A.L videos off Youtube that i doubt there's any more vids left to watch. My craze for Japanese movies and dramas have also dissipated, due to the lack of shows that's interesting enough for me to watch. Gah.

What can I do....what can I do????

No money to go watch movies in cinema, (actually, I do. But i just want to start saving. I don't wanna be living like a leech sucking off my dad's money. I wanna be sucking on my own dough. Okay, that sounds weird. )

I better start updating my CV and start sending some out for potential job placements. Maybe I'll just start off with internships and see how it goes. Who knows.

    <lj:music>I don't give a damn....Avril & Evan</lj:music>

I don't know how many posts already that I have headed the entry with "Procrastination" as its title. Anyways, as usual, my room is the procrastination central.

But surprisingly, I procrastinated from my schoolwork by doing something else.

Housework.

Well, not really housework, more of my "room"work.

I've just finished a month's worth of laundry. Boy was there a huge load of clothes that needed to be washed. I think, the amount of dirty laundry compiled for two weeks looks like someone else's laundry for two months. I think what my sister said is true. The bigger my laundry bucket, the more dirty linen i'll stuff in.

Anyways, i've just chucked my last batch of clothes into the washer, and hopefully I can get started with schoolwork. Its my day off today, but I didn't take the opportunity to go roam the streets, cos' i'm trying to save money. I've been spending my dough all week on taxi cabs and meals for my brothers, since mom is always at the hospital, so, she didn't really cook at home. And all the visiting to the hospital is eating away my pocket money. Se-ry-os-ly. The salary that i get from my weekend tuitions dries up extremely extremely fast. I need to find some other way to get some dough man.

The year 2007 zoomed by within the wink of an eye. Can you believe it's already nearly the end of March??? Soon, my final year exams will be rolling by, and it will be bye-bye to NUS. I'm gonna miss the campus. Maybe i'll see if i can join the alumni. *grins* Maybe i can get special privileges.

Exams is in another three weeks time, and i've still got two presentations, 3 project reports and an individual essay due within the next couple of weeks. I'm really tight on time these days, though somehow, I managed to squeeze in about an hour (or three *grins) of Youtubing. Hmmm.....wonder why? *strokes chin*

Hey....my chin is rough.

Masquerade

My oh my. Hearing the burst of "Masquerade" blasted from outside the door brings back memories. Not particularly fond memories, more of humiliating memories that i would never ever want to relive again.

I think they're showing the movie "Phantom of the Opera" right now, but I'm not exactly watching it, just hearing the songs from outside of my door.

Its amazing how different the original version of "Masquerade" is compared to the version that we sung back during our performance at Marine Parade library. I admit that it was fun being caught up on all the theatrical antics, with the rehearsals and practices that we had and the elaborate costumes that we had to scour for days just for the show.

I even had my hair made especially for the performance. Back then, I sported really long hair, thus, the perming of my hair took longer than it did for the others. The results was okay i guess, though it was embarrassing cos' it was such a huge 'do that i couldn't wear my headscarf afterwards. That was the first time ever that I performed in front of an audience.

The most embarrassing memory of the whole Phantom of the Opera gig was the dress. I was extremely uncomfortable in that long red gown, with ruffles around the shoulders while baring a considerable amount of skin, not to mention cleavage. *shudder* I just hope there's no photos of me in that whole Victorian get up lying around in an album somewhere. I would absolutely die is anyone ever manages to get hold of any of that. Let's hope those photos have already been burned or destroyed by now.

The dress is still around though, but its in my eldest sister's possession now. I think she's the only one who would be able to fit in that thing. If i were to try it on again, the dress would probably end around my knees, and would no longer be called a gown, but more of a mini dress. Lolz.

Ahh...secondary school days. The period where i still have a social life. The era in which the Internet has not yet abducted me from the real world.

I got meself a new pair of glasses. Burnt a whole in my pocket with this new pair. Never have i spent so much on such a small thing, even though its something worthwhile, but still.

I'm still feeling the pinch from forking out a hundred and forty bucks for this new pair of rimless multicoated glasses which i bought in NUS.

Yeah, who knew NUS even had their own optic center?

I was on my way to pick up the my reading's course pack from the printer within the NUS Co-op when i noticed a small little shop tucked away in the corner of the room. Curious, of course i went over to check it out, and seeing that the nice-looking uncle seems lonely, (Haha..no, i'm not hooker! Sheesh) since there wasn't much business going on, I went inside the shop, hesitantly at first, cos' all the glasses on display looked dang ex!

My only intention was to browse through the collection available there and see if there's any particular design that's within my taste. And maybe, i thought i would be able to get a free eye-checkup or something.

HOwever, knowing my reputation for being the world's biggest pushover, once the uncle approached me and went into his saleman's speech, I couldn't NOT leave the shop without purchasing anything. So i resigned to my fate and went in to get an eye check.

Boy was the technology used in this optic such a marvel. I've never seen anything like it before. The optic center that i used to patronize over at Joo Chiat road still uses the old kind of machine, the one where you have to slot in the lenses along with the little knobs and screws jutting out. This new contraption that was used in the NUS optic was a state-of-the-art model, complete with a remote for changing the slides for the test screen.

Anyways, it turns out that my degrees had shot up almost 75 degrees from the current one. No wonder I couldn't seem to make out the words on the projector screen in my lectres. I'm myopic.

So i got meself a new pair of glasses, based on the uncle's recommendation. He initially told me that it cost 65 bucks, which I thought was extremely cheap! Then it turns out that the 65 dollars was only for the frame, not inclusive of the lenses, the multi-coated layer that he is going to apply, and the service charge. It all amounts to a hundred and forty buckaroos. *Sigh* There goes my salary. Seriously, the dough that i got from tutoring never seemed to last longer than a few weeks. Guess i have to eat at home for this whole month.

On the brighter side, now i'm able to see! K-feeshingly wonderful. No more straining of ze eyes.

The Vincent Ng Jap lookalike.

I'm hooked after watching Waterboys 2. Over and over and over again. I can't seem to get enough of watching these cuties practicing synchronized swimming, especially since all five of them are reasonably a sight for sore eyes.

Anyways, I've hit a j-dorama goldmine where i could watch all the japanese movies and dramas online, full episodes and completed series for free! I've already re watched News No Onna with that has the other eye candy Hideaki Takizawa, who also starred in Strawberry on a SHortcake. I also completed watching that a couple of nights ago. Now, i'm on the hunt for even more japanese dramas to fill up my boring nights. I'm in my procrastination phase, and what makes it better, is that all my deadlines are due next week. *grins*

OOOHHH! Another Air mail!! *yippee*

My sister just chucked a large brown envelope at my head. I wonder who sent it this time round.

I love getting airmails. The excitement of seeing that large brown envelope on the desk, relieved that it has finally arrived after waiting for so long.

However, the excitement is always short lived after seeing that dad had obviously gone through the contents of the package. Sigh. When will i ever get the chance to rip open my own mails? He always went through my mails, even those from NUS and even greeting cards from friends. Seriously. I need to get my own mailbox. Or maybe, i'll just direct all my mails to my sister's home address. I doubt she'll ever go through my mails.

Nevertheless, i still enjoy getting stuff that's been flown from the other side of the world. The joyful feeling of getting something that has been touched by the hands of the mail guys from U.S. *grins* I'm whacked aren't i? I imagine that the U.S mail guy to be someone who looks like Jensen Ackles. *glees*

I wish. Though i do dig looking at all those FedEx and UPS guys inside those tv commercials. They all look good in that cap of theirs. *Giggles*

I'm mighty giggly tonight. I think its caused by my burnt tongue.

Anyways, this is the third time i'm receiving something from U.S. The first was a DVD that one of my acquaintance got for me since the DVD wasn't available here in Singapore. It seriously was generous of him though. If only someone teaches me how to send mail. I'd love to send stuff to people over there.

My sister suggested that i go to the Singapore Post office and just sit in there and observe how people send mails. She said that's what she and her friends did. But their reason was that they were hot. Geez.

I'd love to have a field trip like that. Going to the post office and see the mail guys sorting out those huge piles of brown (or isit white?) envelopes of different sizes. My uncle is a courier, maybe i can ask him if they have any tours to see the insides of the SIngapore post. Who knows. I'll just give it a try. Maybe i might meet some those cute FedEx guys from the commercial.

Last note. Check out the song Lollipopby Mika. Extremely bubblegum pop. Very addictive. :)

Sickening. That's what it is.

Definitely not something that i would like to see so early in the morning.

I am referring to this couple who were smooching and displaying all sorts of affection with each other infront of me during the lecture. I can understand that they might have been deprived of their "alone" time together these week but blatantly hugging and touching each other is definitely not acceptable. They could have at least done it discreetly or something. Or maybe sit somewhere else where no one can witness their exchange.

I feel sorry for the guy who is sitting beside them, who is also their friend. How awkward that must have been for him to see his mates doing such a thing in public.

Okay, movie starting. Hopefully, the next time i update won't be in three months time or something.

What a way to spend the day.

Yesterday night, i returned to an empty house, save for my brothers. Apparently, my parents and sisters were all at the hospital. My aunt (father's sister) was in her last stage of her life.

This morning, at eleven am, she gave her last breath.

She suffered two blows. A month ago, she was hit by a stroke which left her right side paralysed. A couple of weeks ago, we just learned that she was also suffering from cancer. There's a tumour in her stomach that's already in its fourth stage of growth.

For the first time ever, a death has affected the whole family terribly. My parents, along with the other relatives spent the whole night and this morning at the hospital at KK's ICU unit. My dad told me not to go to school, though it wasn't such a big deal cos' i only had one lecture today.

After she passed away, we headed straight to her house to prepare for the funeral and her burial. My eyes are really sore from weeping too much. Even though we were'nt that close to her, she was the first closest relative from our father's side that passed away.

We just got home from the kenduri and prayers and i'm completely shagged, though i can't really go to bed cos' i've got a mid term "take home exam" essay due in 48 hours.

By the way, Mai, the reason why i asked about your mom was because, i thought your mom worked at the icu unit in KK. Sorry to bother you.

Watching the Singapore match against Thailand is like pulling teeth.

It's really frustrating to continually see the Thai players falling down and rolling on the field like they truly worship the grass. I swear, that must be their tactic this match. To try and get as many chances as possible to stop drop and roll, and then blame it all on the Singaporean players.

I must admit, that it is truly admirable of the Singaporean players to withstand the harsh onslaught of the Thai's on their half of the field. I think by the end of this game, Lionel Lewis would be sore rightthrough the bones whereas the Thai goalkeeper would probably be bored to death since the ball rarely go to his side of the field.

But irregardless of who won tonight, i still say that the Blue jerseys are the best. Hehe...I'm glad they're wearing blue instead of red, cos' the blue is calming to the eyes, whereas looking at red contrasting with the green field is terribly hurting my eyes.

Apparently, Jonathan leong's back in NUS. How do i know this? Well, i just brushed past him on the corner of AS4. I think he was heading to his lecture or something. When i saw someone walking in the opposite direction of me, i thought his face seemed really familliar. I almost didn't recognize him since he'd not decked in shades with his floppy hair carelessly but professionally tossed over his shoulders. I knew something was amiss.

He doesn't have people surrounding him. Lolz. Most of the students who walked past him continued on nonchalantly, and i think most of them can't even recognize him in school.

I did. But i just brushed past him and his facial expression kinda looks like he is confused about something. Probably wondering why on earth didn't any of the NUS students even smile nor acknowledge him. Although i did notice a couple who were sitting at the study tables just as he passed by it, and they had some curious expressions on their faces and were probably staring at his back as he walked away.

So now i know how "celebrity" students are like in normal school. They act normally since no one even bothered about them. Although i doubt that's gonna be the case if the celebrity is some American actress or so. Imagine Lindsay Lohan taking Chinese class alongside of me. I'd probably be in the tabloids the next day with the headlines "Boring student sits besides LiLo!"

*Snickers*

I saw Elvin Ng once. Face to face in fact. It was back then when he was just starting out in Mediacorp, and he was in his final year in NUS. It was the same place where i saw Jonathan earlier. Wow. That place must have been some sort of celebrity hallway or something.

Honestly, i'm getting frustrated with our education system. Why can't we have a form of education where we can actually enjoy learning and not solely for getting good grades? WHat has happened to the era where students are encouraged to experience the feeling of learning something rather forcing them to participate in discussions so that they can get their participation points? *pulls at hair* Ahh. I saw the trailer for Princess Hours, Goong and tried to see what the show was about, cos' it seemed interesting. Lo' and Behold, i fell hook line and sinker and spent three nights watching the whole series. 24 EPISODES IN THREE DAYS! Lolz. I never thought i'd like watching Korean dramas, but Goong proved me wrong.
Oh, what joy it is to be able to laugh again at the antics of Ron and Hermione in book six. I'm really glad that JK didn't make them go out with each other too soon, cos' it'lll definitely ruin the anticipation of wanting them to get together, and i'd rather have them awkward with each other with oodles of sexual tension in between rather than have them already snoggin each other. No more suspense if that had happened.

Oh how could i think that i'm ever going to get over the Harry potter fandom? Reading the books again (skipping all the Harry parts, lolz) makes me interested in that world again, although not so much now, unless the fifth movie is looming closer. Oh, by the way, Happy Birthday to my favorite red head, the live version of Ronald Weasley, Rupert Grint!! I'm not sure how old he is, lolz, what a great "fan" i am, but nonetheless, let's hope he doesn't become like Daniel, all gangly and awkward looking. Lolz. No offence to Dan fans.
