I was bored and I decided to look at the hamsters in my area on Petfinder.com
You always here people say that you should rescue pets instead of supporting pet stores.

I found one place who wants people to adopt 2 syrians (at least they are female) together because they came from the same place and they are friends. They don't want to separate them.

"While many sources say that adult hamsters should only be kept singly because of fighting, these girls get along beautifully. We would like to see them be adopted together. There is always a possibility that fighting might break out at a later date, but we at the rescue are hoping for the best."

Whut? Yes, lets just hope for the best... Hopefully if they do wind up fighting someone notices before the hamsters hurt themselves.

Am I just crazy for getting mad at that? I kind of expect syrians together at places like Petsmart, but not an animal rescue.

From Style.com:
why won't the embedding work??? )

It’s ironic that someone who is in a perpetual state of half dress is so strongly influencing fashion. Lady Gaga’s aversion to pants has been well documented, so it’s no surprise to read that the blonde balladeer is responsible for a huge increase in the sales of knickers in Britain. It’s another thing altogether to find allusions to this pop culture omnivore (who is attired by a Warholian gaggle of twentysomethings working under the moniker Haus of Gaga) at the haute couture in Paris. And yet it was hard not to detect a hint of the Gaga effect in
Gaultier Paris‘ leg-bearing bodysuits, Christian Lacroix’s sculptural skirts, Givenchy’s dangling chains, and even the pouf-skirted finale dress at Chanel. Click for a slideshow, and let us know what you think of the results—sacrilege or a breath of fresh air?

Did Lady Gaga Influence The Clothes At Haute Couture?

Thursday, 07/16/2009 at 1:07 PM 9 Comments

Love her, hate her, or think she's positively lost her mind, there's little denying that Lady Gaga is a fashion force to be reckoned with these days (even Mr. Dapper himself, Kanye West, admitted he couldn't compete with her wild style). But would you believe she had a major influence on the clothes that came down the runway at haute couture?

0716lady-gaga-couture_fa.jpg

Style.com says yes. According to the site, "allusions to this pop culture omnivore (who is attired by a Warholian gaggle of twentysomethings working under the moniker Haus of Gaga) [were found] at the haute couture in Paris. And yet it was hard not to detect a hint of the Gaga effect in Gaultier Paris‘ leg-bearing bodysuits, Christian Lacroix’s sculptural skirts, Givenchy’s dangling chains, and even the pouf-skirted finale dress at Chanel."

While we regular gals may find some of her looks a little less than wearable for everyday life, you must admit, she's doing a bang-up job of getting us to notice her. Remember a few years ago, when Mary-Kate Olsen wandered around the NYU campus looking kinda homeless and nobody understood her look? The layers upon layers of knits, the oversize handbags, the grungy-looking boots? And lo and behold, a few months later, we were all wearing watered-down versions of that very same aesthetic. Sometimes, it takes a true fashion visionary to readjust our eye, to introduce us to a brand new silhouette, and make us scratch our heads while simultaneously admiring the view. And it seems like Lady Gaga is definitely one of those visionaries. Maybe a few months from now, we'll all be wearing more futuristic shapes and severe silhouettes...though I'm just gonna say now, I'm opting out of the zipper eye patch.

Head over to style.com now and check out the slideshow of comparisons, then let us know if you think the disco diva did, in fact, have an influence on the clothes at haute couture. Are you willing to take fashion cues from this woman? Discuss!

Dear Diary:  The hardest part of life among humans is their habit of inventing new words.  Just when I learn to respond to “play” and “dinner,” they become “fetch” and “num-nums.”

Just this morning, in fact, as I awaited the customary call of “walkies,” I was briefly puzzled to hear them call it “skydiving” instead.  Ah well, a rose by any other name, right?  More later.

Today is a strange day, for my least photo-cooperative hamster allowed me take photos of him. Sure, I bribed him with treats, but still.

This is Oreo, almost 14 months*.

* Ages determined by when I got them, add a couple months (or perhaps 3 or 4 for Magneto) for their true ages.

So today was cleaning day, and I go into Cookie's pod. I pick up the house and there she is. Everything is fine I talk to her and let her walk out to edge of the pod, and I see something moving from where she was. I freak out. And put everything back the way it was. Luckly I hadn't touched her or anything in the house except the top of her house. SO I think we're safe. I knew bringing home all these adopted hamsters we would end up with one preggers. LOL

I'll try to get pictures cause the bottom of her blue pod is clear. I hope she doesn't eat them. :(

Oh and they had to be born last night or this morning. I didn't get up til 1pm, had a late night seeing HP.  But last night Cookie was out with me before we left for the movies at 9pm. We didn't get home til 2am, but I didn't check on her.

OK, first of all, this is one awesome photograph, Emily M. It’s really beautiful—kinda along the lines of Died and Gone to Heaven. Can’t you imagine that you’re in this field, and this teeeeny bunny comes up to you, and she’s all; “Come with me! I’ll show you the secret bunny burrow—we’ll be safe there! But we must hurry!”

First day and he's already being horrible about Karlie! I feel sorry for her watching at home. They don't seem very well matched anyway...
How rude of him to say that he was keeping his options open (then mentioning Noirin) and saying that Sophie is too pretty for him, therefore insulting Karly's looks!

Also, I really don't like how Siavash always stirs stuff... he's really fake, I think
Also, ew did anyone else see Marcus eat his toenails! How disgusting
