THIS is why I'm never, ever going to be completely satisfied with the reboot. ST2009 lost something so important to the franchise in favor of what appears to be a modern day love for Destiny, motorcycles, and rebellious dickheads who are really just tormented/geniuses/abused/abandoned but secretly really great guys.

They just didn't get it.

I still LOVE the movie to death - and I'm even fond of Chris P. Kirk - it's just a shame the writers - and J.J. - missed the mark on one of the most important characters in the history of Science Fiction.
