Your Skin, My Skin, Our Ancestral Bones

Seeing that we are all interconnected is something I often look over, but it's of major importance for us all to realize we are One. No better than the other, no different than the other. We are all Brothers and Sisters. In my continuing study and reading of The Mist-Filled Path by Frank MacEowen, I have come across yet another fantastic and moving exercise I want to share with you all.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your Skin, My Skin, Our Ancestral Bones

The next time you find yourself in a crowded place, whether on a bus, in a bookstore, in a football stadium, or in a movie theatre, do the following practice.

Look at all the different people and then whisper or think to yourself: "Every man, my brother. Every woman, my sister. Every crying child, my child. Every old woman, my grandmother. Every old man, my grandfather. Every wounded soul, my soul."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the world is looked at with that saying and we all truly start practicing it. Think how beautiful this world could really be. Brightest Blessings to you all, my family.

an important essay

Why Wicca Is Not Celtic v.3.2
by Iain Mac an tSaoir and Dawn O'Laoghaire

The following is by no means an indictment of the religion called Wicca. Wicca is indeed a valid and powerful path for those who truthfully walk it and understand it. However, there is a body of people who believe that Wicca is the descendant of the religious ways of the Gaelic or other Celtic peoples (or 'Celts' as a general nomenclature). This simply is not the case.

---> READ THE FULL ARTICLE (http://www.clannada.org/wicca.php) <---

Note from Chrissy: I've yet to read this fully but I do agree with it (to the point I've gotten to at least lol). I've studied Wicca from a historical and Celtic Reconstructionism POV and Wicca, though it pulls a lot from Celtic things, is not the Celtic religion of old. This is why there is Wicca and the Celtic Reconstruction religion (visit www.imbas.org for more info on Celtic Reconstructionism) as there are many differences between the Paths. I do hope this article doesn't offend anyone, but it's good to read something like this, that what you know where you're coming from. History is something every Witch needs to have a good knowledge of. Please accept my apology if this article angers anyone. Also, please know that this article in no way is meant to debase the Wiccan religion (I practice a lot of Wicca—though it's not what I practice solely—so I wouldn't post something that demeaned the religion).

Wonderment Of Life: The Things We Take For Granted

Most of us begin our days with a continuous list of things we need to do to keep our lives running smoothly, but we rarely take time to note all the things we don't need to do. For example, we don't need to figure out how to breathe. We don't need to find a way to make sure the earth continues to revolve around the sun. We don't need to concentrate to ensure that our heart beats and our cells regenerate. All of these things, and many more, take care of themselves without our having to think or do anything at all. This is the miracle of life on earth.

Beyond the wonder of the natural world, we have the wonder of human-created conditions such as indoor plumbing, electricity, automobiles, airplanes, telephones, and the Internet to name a few. Someone living just a hundred years ago would be overwhelmed by the ease with which we can communicate with people all over the world. Every day, millions of us jump on airplanes and fly to distant locations in a matter of hours. If we have access to a computer, we can read obscure information about any subject, free of charge, at any time of the day or night. And yet, it's only when one of these miraculous inventions fails that we notice it at all.

When you wake up tomorrow, take time to notice how many things are running smoothly, how many small miracles compose your day. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, as you put them on, take a moment to appreciate the fact that without them, you would be unable to see. Your life would be entirely different if someone hadn't invented corrective lenses. As you take in your world, you might feel a moment of gratitude for the basic fact that, once again, the sun has risen to illuminate the abundant earth, and the earth's gravitational field holds you and all that you hold dear in a tight, life-affirming embrace.

Source: Daily OM - June 20, 2006

Chakra Test Results

Just took the Chakra test at Eclectic Energies to see which of my chakras are open or closed. Here's my results ...

Root: under-active (-56%)
Sacral: open (31%)
Navel: under-active (6%)
Heart: under-active (6%)
Throat: open (56%)
Third Eye: open (25%)
Crown: open (50%)

So as you can tell, I need some work done on the Root, Navel and Heart. What's weird is I felt pressure on these chakras while taking the test, especially the Navel and Heart chakra.

Greetings

Hi, most of you know me as elergia, but I have decided to create a secondary LJ for my spiritual/religious postings to be held. This was done for numerous reasons; 1. to spare those on my regular account who care not, 2. to cut down on filling up friends pages with tons of posts and etc.

Most information about me can be found on my userinfo but I will also give a quick synopsis here. I am a 23 year old female from Alabama, USA. I am still fairly new to paganism but it's where my soul and heart have been laying all my life. I decided to follow my true path last year and study Gnostic Christianity, Celticism and other forms of paganism, right now I am pretty much eclectic in my practice—though I do harbour huge pulls towards Greek/Roman and Celtic practices and deities.

I hope that my posts will inpire & interest you. Feel free to friend me :-D
