I heard the horse-head fiddle, the morin huur
Singing the song of loneliness
That was playing in my heart.
I want to ride blazing across the steppes,
The dry wind taking my hair
And turning it to ribbons, flapping wildly
Off of stupas far from here.
Rush along the river's edge-
Watch the herds of wild horses
Undulate across the land like thunder.
Out there, alone:
The dawnlight breaking across the land
And highlighting the brilliant blue of the sky's arc.
The haunting notes echo across, away,
And within.
You would take my hand
And keep me with you?
If you can keep up, I will let you.
