Man, actually saying the Shahadah is way harder than the Kalimah. Which makes me even sadder about missing out on Matteson's Arabic class today =( This means I haven't taken a single Paideia course this year. Which is totally lame but I guess I had some other stuff to do. Like... avoid study. -_-'
But seriously. ašhadu ʾal lā ilāha illa l-Lāh, wa ʾašhadu ʾanna muḥammadar rasūlu l-Lāh is hard. I don't know why- maybe 'cause I haven't ever heard the ashadu an part... No doubt I will soon though. I'm excited for Intro Islam, I can tell you. I can only hope I like Ghanea-Bassiri though, because I'm going to be spending a *lot* of time with him...
In other news. I begin qualing at 9 am tomorrow- that is if I can wake up at a decent enough hour to go over there and get the damn thing. Ahh, why are you in the Chemistry building, leetle religion qual? That's soooo far away. It's all the way across campus! But I... think I'm prepared. I could do more reading, but I can read to break from stuff.
I may be disconnecting my internets though. We're not supposed to do research on the topics outside of what they give us, so the internet will only be a distraction, not a help. So facebook may not happen, LJ rarely happens anyway... I'll only notify people if something's really wrong. Try not to call me unless said is true for you plox?
You know, there was something else I was going to say. But I've forgotten.
OHHH that was it! My two favourite books as a young adult have both been lost, I realized looking up this term "maktub" that I used in a conversation on my mom's facebook. Turns out I got that probably from the novel The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, which I lent out and who knows where it went. The other book, Hard Boiled Wonderland and The End of The World by the amazing Haruki Murakami, I know how it got lost- at least, in whose ownership it was pausing before it headed out to the great unknown. It wasn't her fault though, I think. I think. =P
Anyway. I'm going to head off to bed. Or something. I got to sleep -_- I'll see you later, and I love you you know.
