so i started a xanga account, and so this is a update from it... i may just switch over, im undecided about it at the moment though.

phew. just finished cleaning the room and setting some more stuff.

gorgeous day, absolutely gorgeous. after church this morning jenny lindsay matt and i decided that we would get some lunch at niu to waste our dining dollars, and we got kevin in on the hottness too [despite him already eating].

we just sat and talked for such a long time, just really enjoying the weather and all. good times. kevin and i recollected hilarious moments with jack bell and other jr high friends.

great day looking to get even greater....

so today was like the best day in a long time. im tired, so im gonna give you the most of what i can before i pass out.
we were originally going to go camping in the michigan dunes, but we failed to make reservations, and so we definately didnt get to stay over night. so the backup plan was to go early in the morning and stay all day. so thats what we did. except the weather was really crappy with a like 70% chance of rain. well, we figured we might as well go. so, matt, ruth, lindsey, jenny, nick, and i went off to the dunes. on the way there, it rained. on the way back home it rained. but while we were there? it was awesome. we actually got some sun too.
so when we got there we started to hike around and just explore what was there. we went up this huge huge dune, and it took like fifteen minutes to beat it. then we just took various trails around. we ended up playing in the sand and burying me, then we [more like I] jumped off this really steep hill. way fun. all of this moving and hiking had made us really tired, so we went for a swim.
the swim was great too. the weather made the waves bigger than normal, but at the same time, the water wasn't that cold. we played there for awhile jumping waves and the such.
then matt told us about this clay area that he found before. so we went for a walk. when we got there, we found this clay that was like goop. well of course we had to throw some of it around, and this led into an all out war. there was clay flying everywhere. it was nuts. soo funny. i had clay all over my face, back, legs, and chest. the only part of me that wasnt grey from clay was just around my eyes and my feet. just insane. i had so much clay in my hair too. and my ear [thank you ruth]. we then walked back to our stuff and took some pictures and washed up. went for some din din, then home.
the ride home went really fast, i was with nick and ruth, and we talked like the whole way. great time. after getting back, we did some fancy car shuffling [ ;) ]and then headed back to the room.
in the room we watched donnie darko, then played tons of bs [the card game]. after, we did some more car shuffling and then here i am now.
so yeah. thats it. long post, sorry.

its friday morning and im so tired that my eyes hurt
it was sooo hard to fall asleep last night, there was this terrible highpitched screeching noise coming from outside, on top of the fact that it was so hot and humid in our room that matt adn i were almost driven to kill. but on the brighter side we got to talk like old times, so i think it turned out ok.
wow, so i went to update just a sentence and then continue my math homework thats due in an hour. meh. my new motto is "math is for kids who suck", and i dont suck, so math just isnt my thing.
i really really hope that we get a campsite for camping tonight. that would be hott. otherwise our trip will be downsized to just a visit during the day. whatev.
ok, i really gots to go. the math is staring me down, and i have 15 minutes to finish and get so b-fast.

oh man
i love it here. i mean really really love it here.
i just finished a real solid run, and im feelin fine.
i love my room. my floor is great only cause it could be so much worse.
i really need to get to studying and stuff. my procrastination has kicked in.
im just bubbling with thoughts and feelings and.... i just cant begin to describe it.

does anyone even read this anymore? im like talking to like five people who already talk to me quite often... oh well. that cant destroy my mood now.

oh man, so im back at school again. and not a second too late. everything is exacly how it was before. theres a real comfort in that.
our room is soo hot. our RA has come by like three times to tell us how cool it is. weve got our lofted beds up, with entertainment system half up and our futon up. just hot
very hot
also we had ruth lindsay and jenny over and they chilled with us and then we went to jenny's apt. good times. night went fast too. im really looking forwards to this year at niu.

okay, so heres how dumb i am....
for some odd reason i agreed to take some extra hours these next couple of days. and then i thought about it. and, oh boy, im gonna be tired.
today i worked a 9 hour day, tomorrow i work an 18 hour day, tuesday i work a 12 hour day, then i finish my lifeguarding year with a cool 8 hour day. im gonna be sad tomorrow...
18 hours?? what was i thinking??? oh man.

so im teaching a pre karate class [aged 5-7]and i had all the kids grouped in front of me while i was talking. suddenly, someone says "gross" and they all part to reveal that someone had thrown up. it wouldnt have sucked so bad, except i was the only one that was there. oh, and i was the only one because the other instructor decided not to let me know they were not going to be there. greeaaat.
so right away im like "water break!" and i shoo all of the kids out of the room. i then go to the front desk and i ask where the janitor is. well the front desk lady snapped at me. she basically yelled at me cause there was no janitor. wonderful.
so i ask if theres anything that i may use to clean it up. again, she gives me huge attitude and gives me some paper towels. "just paper towels?"-me "yeah, those are paper towels"-lady "uh, could i maybe get something to disenfect the floor with?"-me ::evil eye followed by a heavy sigh::-lady "yeah heres some stuff to clean it with"-lady
so, i got the wonderful privelage of getting to clean throw up. oh, and then the kid then decides hes feeling better and wants to join the class again. but he has vomit on his uniform, and his parents arent there. so i had no choice but to make him watch class in on the side in his dirty uniform...

oh, and i get home and i find out that dpb is playing somewhere an hour away, and they started at the same time i got off work.....

oh boy, tonight better be grand....

on that note, i officially quit all forms of working and will now be known as a proffesional hobo. that way, no one can touch me. when was the last time you asked a hobo if they will come in to work for you at 5:30 in the morning? never. thats what i thought. i could roam the countryside telling stories in exchange for shiny things. man, that would be great.... ::long, thoughtful sigh::

saw memento again last night with kim and niki. so great. every time i see it, i like it a little more.i need to find more movies like that. movies that make you think about stuff. like fight club, vanilla sky, gattica, donnie darko, seven, etc... you know the kind... the ones that make you go "whoa, whoa, what just happened?"

went to dekalb last night. good times. i always have a fun time there. just great time. we went around town and found everything to be closed, then over to rensley's house. then after that we went to rensley's house. dont get it? well now you have a reason to call me. ho. anyways we went and saw the terminal. solid movie. just solid. i liked it alot. then we went to the house and rensley won at slap jack.

which reminds me that i saw the village this weekend too. pretty good movie. i liked it, but i could see why everyone else i talked to didn't.

which also reminds me... i just saw elephant. wow. just wow. i dont know what to think. i want to hate it but i cant. soo messed up. like, the whole thing was soo uneventful, then just one giant happening.... oh man. crazy. someones gonna have to see it with me again.

my brother is making me more and more frustrated every time i see him. right now its 1205 and i can hear him goofing around in the basement with shannon. yeah. but shannons got a boyfriend. bogus. and i think hes been street racing again. no good. i know hes hanging out with them... arg... why wont the kid listen.

sooo tired yesterday morning
one hour of sleep. how you ask? well, lemme tell you. after getting back from dekalb at 230 in the morning i made the mistake of going online for a bit. well, a bit turned into longer than i expected, and i had my alram set at 430 to get to work.
meh, i went to work, then got a 2 hour nap, then i went to lunch with the willie. he hyped up this all you can eat mexican restaurant and it turned out to be only mediocre. but you cant really complain about all you can eat, so it was cool.

straight from lunch went back to work. then i went to best buy to check out their phones. my bros getting put on my program, so i get a new phone. but the selection was soo crappy. if i want a flip phone, i get one with no caller id, or i have to spend another 100 on one with a camera. bogus. but i really want a flip phone, and a caller id is a must, so i guess im screwed. i was looking at these three phones. if you have one of these or one of your friendsw does, then tell me what you think of it.
1. samsung flip phone, with a camera in the hing of the phone so it can rotate.
2. motorolla flip phone, camera next to the caller id
3. lg flip phone, caller id under the camera.
ive heard that the motorolla one sucks, and the guy at the store said that they have the most customers complain, and compliment it. odd, i guess that the quality isnt consistent. the one that i was thinking of getting was the samsung one cause he said no one has had problems with it, and plus it has a longer talk life than the lg...
like i said, help me out with the decision...
went out with some of matt's hoffman buddies. very very nice guys. we went out and played at the super park. good times. my whole body was soooooo sore from karate that afternoon, but moving around made it 100% better. by the end of the night i felt fine. this morning, however, im dying.

so matt told me that he updates more than me. i thought that he didnt. he said he did. so i counted. from june 1 to this moment, matt=9 dave=10. i win with updates. you suck matt. oh, and not mave, which has been suddenly the cool thing to call me {thanks ru-en-sly}.
so my summer has suddenly taken a turn for the awesome. ive been having so much more fun hangoing out with more people. ive been playing tons of poker with matt's hoffman friends, traveling a ton to see the cru friends, and rocking out with kim and the elk grizzle crew. sooo hot. speaking of hot, i saw part of "big fish" again with kim. good good movie. i dont think kim liked it as much as me, but its such a hott movie. [note the two t's]. ive finally decdided to just master reset my computer. the virus has gotten out of hand and i cant handle it. meh. i just gotta burn my papers onto a disk and then ill be money. hopefully the hottness [kevin] will be able to help me hit dat.
hanging out so much has really lessened the stress of work. and yes i know that i shouldnt be stressing, but i do. i find myself looking forwards to going out at night. good times good times.
i finally sold out and got stuff from A&F. i dissapoint myself. but the stuff is soo hot. its funny cause freshman year i made a promise to myslef that i would never buy anything that was considered popular or name brand. boy how times have changed.
im having a really good week. im in such a good mood about it. soo good.
went to dekalb today too. very good times. ruth has the most realxing house ever. it was just so warm feeling. and plus, matt and i noticed that we only saw one tv in the entire house, as compared to my 8.
oh, so our dorm is gonna be awesome this year. with a futon!! so im extending an open invitation to any who want to stay over at niu, cause we gots a queen size matress waiting for you.

man, im just in a great mood. good mood.

ruth jenny and joel came to schaumton heights today. hott. we went to the pool and played and then we went to mcdonalds to hit up the 49 cent cheeseburgers. after we got butterfly effect... i remembered that movie being so much better in the theatre. meh. good times, good times. i love hanging out with those guys.
so my last update was sad, so this one will change. and all of you guys who took the time to really ask what was up, you guys are true friends [you know who you are...].
thats one of the things that has happened this summer that i have been really happy about. ive gotten much closer to so many cool people.
oh! also i get to actually take action and manage the pool on friday. im kinda nervous, but also verrry excited. if this happens and goes well, then it will definately put the nail in the coffin to finish my karate career. if i enjoy managing, then im only gonna push one more semester of karate, then cut my losses and be done with it. it seems like such an easy thing to say now, but its gonna hurt hard when it happens. oh man. ive grown up in karate, its been my life. but now things have gone out of my hands. in short these are the basic reasons that im stopping...
1-my grades hugely dropped due partly to a lack of time to study
2-most of my required classes are falling at night... no time
3-drving 1 1/2 hours sucks hard, no matter how i look at it
4-the office treats me like dirt
5- im tired and i ran out of things off the top of my head
but man oh man, im gonna miss it. im gonna definately miss the kids too. talking to them is the highlight of my day. i love kids. oh man, the more i write, the more i realize how hard this is gonna be...

lets keep this on the down low though, cause i havent fully decided yet. what you can do to help is pray, pray that i make the wisest decision....

so i cant sleep. like i really need to, and i cant. i have to be up at 530 this morning. something is on my mind, but i dont know it. terrible terrible. its something important... it has to be. playing guitar didnt help. okay, maybe a little, but still no help. my fingers hurt from playing too much guitar lately. i dont like hurt.

i miss last summer, i miss the summers when things made sense. things dont make sense right now.... i dont know what i want anymore... i just want these thoughts churning in my mind to be calm again....

ok so ive been really sucking at updating... and i blame it all on work. im a friggin whore when it comes to work now. i dont even have a choice whether im going to or not. its ridiculous. karate calls me and just tells me im working on thursday. it wouldnt be such a problem except they told me tuesday. waaaay bogus.
so if youre wondering, "but dave, how has this forced you to not update?", i have no answer. honestly i just wrote that work has forced me not to update only cause i really have no excuse. so there

but i have seen a few movies lately and lemme give you the verdict...

still sick... overdosing on advil caught up to me last night. lets just say that i wont be doing that again...

tomorrow [wed] im gonna be stuck inside all day. soo sad. i gave up 15 hours of work at the pool, it broke my heart. it was funny cause it took three people to fill the hours i was supposed to work.

if you want to be the coolest person in town [or even the country] ring the cell or give me a visit cause from how i sees it, tomorrows gonna be ultra boring... you will really make my day!

oh man, so when i said i got sick, i gots really really sick. my body ached, massive headache, the chills, sore throat, and to top it off, a fever that maxed at 101.4. i feel like criz-zap. oh and to top it off, i still went to karate and taught all of the classes minus two. and to top it off i almost overdosed on advil. and to top it off, every single nurse at the treatment center treated me like i was ten.
okay, so i got sick, whatever. but i took three ibuprofin at like 3 to combat it. then i went to karate. hardcore suck. symptoms only got worse... and when i was there, one of the other instructors gave me 2 advil at like 6. and so i got worse until i had to go home. then i felt like poop so i took 2 more ibuprofin. well, it turns out that advil is the same as ibuprofin, and on top of that, i more than doubled the maximum dosage allowed. 7 over 6 hours. the lady at the place said that i was risking kidney failure and that i should expect a massive stomach ache some time tonight. and since i over did the meds, all of the doctors thurr lectured me like nuts. five different people told me how bad it was. one actually had the nerve to say "now im not sure if you know this yet, but you shouldnt be taking medicine from strangers." wow. i almost laughed. then the doctor was checking me out and he looked in my ear and asked me if my ears were bothering me. i guess it looked like i had an ear infection too....not hot.

but with that all over, i think i wont be getting sick till like 2007.

cornerstone was soooooo hot. oh man it was the best vacation ever. very hot out, then muddy then hot again. but weather aside, lemme tell you about the bands.

hot bands [in no order]
-copeland... awesome singing, catchy
-cool hand luke... drummer sings! also very godly lyrics and the musice was really soothing
-lovedrug... relaxing music. put me right to sleep
-dennison whitmer... his music is very emotional, the songs made me think alot. good voice.
-mewithoutyou... insane stage prescence, hardcore god follower, very talented musicians
-university... very professional sounding, also very catchy- everyone was tapping
-rocky... [forgot his last name... roulatto?] one man band insanely good at guitar followed with a very soothing voice.

meh bands [the ones that were nothing special] nothing out of the ordinary

-noise ratchet

suck
-pedro the lion....! the man friggin stood on a christian pedistool to convey political beliefs. not very talented either
-further seems forever.... the new singer looks like steven segal, and his voice doesnt match the music.

thats all i can remember for now... oh and i must add that one of the most memorable moments was seeing mewithoutyou. the singer looked like a mix between a homeless man and a mentally handicapped individual. he covered the stage in flowers and threw them into the audience during the songs shouting "youre all beautiful". his voice had like a lisp and a studder and you could never imagine him in a hardcore band... talk to me and ill better describe how awesome it was.

okay, so i said i would tell of the vacation. but honestly im too lazy to put an effort forth to it right now. wow, thats awful grammar too.... meh.

so since im such a big kid with a tiny attention span, most of the parks that we went to [magic kingdom, islands of adv., universal studios, space center] were awesome. except the space center. overpriced, and plus there was really nothing there. what was there was like 40 gift shops.

the other parks were good. fun times. the only thing that really made the vacation lame was the lack of kids my age. plus i grew to be really sick of the brother. we met a bunch of cool girls that were scotts age, and plus some guys that were his age too. its just not the same when you hang with youngins... i feel like an old geezer.

so that was it. if you want sum funny stories that happened during the time, gimme and im [shotodave18]. plus, the day we came back, we went to boyz town with a couple of friends and got hit on, if you know what i mean....
