Calling all cosplay/sewing people

As you LJ folk know, I am off travelling for a year and I'm currently going through and getting rid of a lot of my stuff (so that I don't _completely_ take advantage of my parent's generosity, and attic space).
I have decided to get rid of the various stocks of material that I have left over from a number of different costumes over the years. I was wondering, rather than putting it all in the bin, would anyone on here like to have the material for free, and pick it up at Minami?

I'd much rather that someone make use of it, as it's only been idling away here and would otherwise end up in the bin which seems such a waste. Just request what you'd like and you can have it!

Below is a photograph of the material, and a general description of what's included. All of the pieces are a reasonable size, some much larger or smaller than others. Basically all bits are of a size I thought may come in handy at a later date.

The photo is before I took the list so a couple of things aren't there any more (like on really odd shaped piece of the red T-Shirting, and some misc. material from our cheap IKEA curtains is there, sorry!)

- Long thin strip of Black Oriental design silky type material - approx 2m x 50cm
- Bright Orange Thick Cotton - L shaped - approx 1.5m in each direction of the L x 50 cm wide.
- Deep Blue Thick Cottony Material - approx 1.5m by 70cm with an extra bit on one end.
- Brown Courdroy - one piece approx 2m x 50cm, and second piece 80cm x 50cm
- Thin yellow cotton - approx 1m sq.
- Deep Purple Polyester (I think) - 1.5m x 50cm approx
- Dark Navy Leatherette - approx 1m x 80cm
- Beige Rough Cottony/Lineny type Material - approx 1m x 1.5m
- Black Leatherette - small bit - about 50cm sq
- Light Blue Thin Cotton - approx 1m sq
- Light Blue Thin Cotton - slightly more blue than above - approx 1.5m x 50cm
- Forest Green Thick Cotton - L shaped - approx 2m x 50 cm, with approx 70cm sq piece on one end to make the L
- Two small pieces Interfacing
- Black Thin Cotton - one piece approx 5m x 1m and another piece approx 1.5m x 70cm
- Yellow Felt - Lemony colour - slight funny shape, approx 1m sq
- White T-Shirt Material - stretchy, great for dyeing - approx 1m x 3m
- Very Light Grey Thin Cotton - odd shape (something cut out of one edge) - approx 1m x 70cm
- Red T-Shirt Material - stretchy - 1m x 2m
- Unknown Beige Material - small piece - could be some kind of iron on interfacing but it's like a cotton - no idea :D

Really good deal people - some substantial pieces like the mass of black cotton. First come, first serve. Fight it out amongst yourselves if some of you wants only one bit for a particular costume.

Lets Updating!

Time to update this, really.

Trip - Flights booked, insurance booked, visas done (nightmarish), project booked, TEFL - wading through, still have to shop for like half the stuff we need, argh!

Overall, we're getting there. Only 41 days to go now. We've started to pack up the house and we've really gotten through the TEFL course for our project in Thailand. It's all very exciting, but extremely stressful and also quite frightening! It's already starting to change my view on life in general, and what I want out of life, hmm.

Anyway, we'll be at Minami, so that will be a good time to see everyone and say goodbye before I jet off for at least a year. Otherwise my life is pretty busy up until then. We move out in a month, I finish work a few days after that, and then it's Minami then next day. In that time we've got Jon's friends coming down, going to see Jon's parents, and a packing up the house weekend. Also, hopefully, although this is sad, I'll be in the country long enough for the last ever episode of ER <3! Why do you have to end, my lovely series?

Moving on - it's likely we'll set up a travel LJ/Facebook, or at least we'll be on these journals when we are away.
Hope you are all ok out there!

Yesterday Jon and I booked our Round the World trip. Not only did we get every stop we wanted, but we managed to get a free overland part of the journey in NZ and a free trip to Hong Kong added on :D!

Leaving April 2nd :D.

What an excellent birthday present to myself :D!

Well, Jon and I now have completely useless arms for the evening.

One MMR vaccine in one arm, and one Hep B vaccine in the other arm. Each of us.

4 weeks time, Hep B in one arm, Rabies in the other.
A week after that, Rabies again.
3 weeks later, Hep B in one arm again, Rabies in the other again.

Oh, not to forget we still have Typhoid and Hep A, and of course, the wonderful Malaria tablets to go.

This trip better be worth it!

(My face was like Tyra's with the MMR v_v)

After following the Rugby World Cup all the way through I was extremely disappointed and cross last night to have the result of the England - France match spoiled for me. As we were entertaining Jon's parents last night, we weren't able to watch it live, so were avoiding it at all costs (we even finished our meals quickly to leave the restaurant early as they were showing it too). I was cross however, to discover that of all places, I would have the result of the match spoiled for me from people's posts on Livejournal, as I discovered on a quick check before bed. I would have thought that people would have had the decency to put any kind of reactions behind a cut, because now I am off to watch the recorded match at my parents, a match that will have all the suspense and thrill taken out of it. Thanks guys.

Poorly Nami

Been a bit worried about little Nami since last night as she really suddenly took a turn for the worse. She became all wobbly, half asleep and wouldn't open her left eye up. She also started making a funny clicking noise today. So, despite how foolish we were going to look going to the vets with just a hamster, we decided to take her to the vets anyway, as we both rather be told if she was going to suffer. Turns out that the poor little Namin has pneumonia! So now I have to give a hamster antibiotics... I hope she still wants to drink from her bottle because I don't much fancy trying to syringe it into her mouth, even if she is very, very friendly. The vet said because she is in such good nick then she has a good chance with these antibiotics, which is quite a relief. Anyway, I'm off to crank up the heating, vets orders!

A Sad Day.

At the best of times, packing a house up to move is in my opinion one of the dullest, most draining, depressing jobs around. Sifting through all of our crap yet again takes ages, although, at least this time we are being incredibly ruthless in regard to getting rid of possessions. Today, however, was a sad day. Today was the last day of the Katamari costumes. The Prince and Fujio have sat merrily in the second bedroom, smiling at you as you come up the stairs and keeping the hamster company for over a year now. Sadly, we have no need, or space, for them anymore, and we couldn't find a home for them. So the time came for them to be crushed. Their poor smiley faces went all crinkly :(!

Although that was a sad affair, we are finally getting through things and getting rid of a lot of things we just don't need anymore. I'm getting rid of all my cosplay tomorrow (except for the wigs and Mono/Momoko) and I have to throw away the majority of my university work... which is kind of weird, having only finished 3 months or so ago. We were quite horrified to find that we still had Con-packs from many moons ago (why?) two of which had very out-of-date Pocky in them. Even more gross was the can of Safeways (they don't even exist anymore) Peeled Plum Tomatoes. Over two years out of date. That means we must have carried it with us for no less than two previous moves. What the hell??? I'm usually very carefully and to be honest, slightly anal about sell by dates and food hygiene. Had me rolling around the kitchen floor laughing for a while, anyway.

Another fact which had Jon and I laughing a lot was the packing boxes. Jon stole these boxes from the next doors garden when they moved in a few weeks ago. The best thing we discovered tonight, they had a whole, huge box dedicated just to jigsaws (judging by their writing on the outside). Eh?? Dorky or what! My mother suggested they could be some kind of erotic jigsaws, which only inflamed the laughter and joking further.

Not going too badly, all over by the weekend :) (but then there is the unpacking, woes!).

Vegetables!

Having spent a week and a half at my parents I have naturally eaten very well. Despite gorging on my the homemade crumbles and custard, and my Dad's never ending supply of freshly made cakes (his retirement has been so good to my tummy for the last couple of years!) I somehow seem to have lost weight, or inches or something. Upon my return to Nottingham today however, I have eaten atrociously. Weetabix, some plums fresh from the tree in the allotment, a banana... (in Salisbury) then.... one and a half huuuuge triple chocolate cookies, a pepperoni pizza and a bowlful of cornish vanilla ice-cream (back in Nottingham). Blaaaaaargh! Asda woes~!

Oh well, my dad has laden two plastic bags with veg from the allotment, so now I have too much to do with in the two weeks I have left. I was quite sad to discover that he didn't include one of the now dubbed 'mega-onions' from the kitchen garden. They are now larger than a babies head, and for some reason he seems to not pick them and allow them to grow bigger. Odd. This years discovery vegetable was Chard, which was fairly enjoyable, quite a lot like spinach. Not as exciting as last years discovery vegetable, which was Butternut Squash. I <3 Butternut Squash too much now v_v!

EDIT: On a completely unrelated note, I just saw one of my cousins on the show Street Crime UK. He wasn't the one being arrested, luckily. Why I'm watching this, I don't know.

Well, I couldn't really be bothered to write up an AmeCon update, tbh. It was great to see everyone again, and get to know some others better like Donna and Nert, as for me the conventions are all about seeing my friends really. AmeCon yet again lacked that certain something, the thing that makes Minami so great? I don't know what it is, maybe the fact Minami (and everyone therefore) is all in one place, or that it's smaller, who knows? Anyway, it was a great weekend, topped by the fact we got Jon's contract through on the Friday morning so we knew we were finally heading to Southampton :D!

Anyway, since AmeCon, my life can be summed up in a simple term, "Flat Hunting". This has been THE most disastrous bout of flat hunting I have ever had to do. Truely awful. The first time Jon and I ever rented somewhere we walked straight in to the first place we saw and took it straight away. The second time (which was due to midly unfortunate circumstances, i.e. the landlord didn't pay the mortgage, oh shi~ repossession) didn't go as smoothly, but in the end we saw a few places and settled on one which wasn't in that great nick, but would do. Neither of those times can compare to this time. Argghh! First off, I had to go flat hunting by myself, as Jon had to stay in Notts for work. So off I travel down to my parents, thinking that it's going to take about 5 days. That was the wednesday before last... I have seen around 20 places over the last week and a half, travelling to Southampton pretty much everyday to browbeat the useless letting agents into allowing me to see places. Half of the places were just so disgusting/completely full of damp/need to be burnt down that it made you full of woe just when they opened the door. And it's not like we're on a tiny budget, either. Some were too small, others perfect but we were just pipped at the post in getting them. For instance several times we turned up at the property only to find the person viewing it before us had taken it. Infuriating! Also, the incompetent letting agencies didn't help much either, taking my details only for us to discover that a couple of days later we weren't on the system nor had they ever heard of us.

In fairness, we did find some lovely places last Sunday, and were about to take them, yet we had a Hamster incident. The lovely flat had the most intrusive landlord I have ever met, to begin with. We met them at the property, and she wanted to "pop-round" when we had moved in, if we were going to take it. And then I got quizzed about mine and Jon's employment status (I mean really quizzed, apparantly to check if we were professional enough) and then to top it all the husband lectured me about this rulebook that I would recieve on our move-in day. O...k... So I decided I would go for this flat regardless, but then the question of pets came up (we had already agreed as a family not to mention the hamster, yet, she was so intrusive I worried that she would just "pop-round", spy it, and we'd be in breech of contract, boooo), so getting that flat was totally screwed over. The other nice flat we saw before that was decided against, because it was right behind Domino's pizza AND a Chinese, both with their chimney stacks directly underneath my windows. Sads!

The long and the short of it is, I eventually managed to get a flat! And I pulled it out from under the nose of another prospective tenant hahahaha! Although it could do with being slightly more spacious, I suppose (or a better layout), and is completely overbudget, it is in the perfect location and in good decorative order, with a seperate kitchen woohoo! That was all I was asking for in the first place v_v! It has a fancy fireplace, and a lift too. Maybe access to the gym, fancypants! Also, the lettings company, and the lettings man, were the nicest out of the lot of them. He did so much for us, even with our little hiccup in getting this flat yesterday. I will have to send him a card when I move in (hopefully, eventually!) All I can say now is thank god we have somewhere to live, and only 5-10 mins from the station and J,G and D's too. :D!

P.S Bruce Parry is back on the TV, which equals, (yet more drugs) <3

Cosplay Disasters!

  • Aug. 7th, 2007 at 3:04 PM
david tennant, dr who
The first disaster is a wig-based woe, involving rubbish sellers who sell things that are not as described! Grrrr! I will hopefully be getting a new wig on next day delivery, so hopefully Mono will not be ruined ;_;!

Secondly, due to some serious money troubles, I had to do Momoko instead of May Lee for the King of Fighters group, but oh well! She is cute anyway, and cheaper (or maybe just cheap?).

The final point of this post is not ranty or angsty, but had Jon and I (and my parents) laughing for a while. Saturday afternoon I decided to construct some things out of Fimo for cosplay, and having crafted them carefully we put the oven on ready to bake them. Jon asked what the instructions were, so I shouted through "230 degrees, 30 minutes"....
Well, after 15 minutes Jon complains of a headache, and shortly after I am suffering too. 25 minutes later, I suddenly piped up "Can you smell burning??". Ensue panic and rushing, and out came some huge lumps of black, smoking, bubbling Fimo, not remotely resembling anything that I had constructed. Being quite shocked at this outcome, Jon went to check the instruction on the packet, and well... 230 degrees fahrenheit Heather, not celsius! Woooops! So only 120 degrees too hot for it then! After falling about laughing and allowing them to cool, we tried to remove them from the baking tray, which resulted in the now volcanic-rock resembling Fimo taking the metal of the baking tray with it... Ack!

Amecon is approaching fast, and I need to ask if anyone can help me put together a few things for my KoF 2003 Ralf Jones costume:

I'm looking for a wig and mostly the gilet. Does anyone have a black/brown padded gilet, made of nylon or something which they could let me borrow for the friday of Amecon? Also, if anyone is willing to lend me a similar wig to the picture I'd be really grateful.

Thanks,
- Moose.

Other news: Heather doesn't think she's going to be able to do a masquerade costume now, especially with this time deadline entry thing. Is everyone boycotting the masquerade now? lol :D

Excellent!

A while ago, on the 26th March to be precise, [info]jvchamary posted a brilliant video from YouTube, of Speak, the Hungarian rapper (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--Vaz9jW054). This video has reached quotable, comical status amongst some of my friends/family, yeah c'mon, and I was very pleased to just see it played as a feature on 8 out of 10 Cats. Yay! (C'mon).

This week has been very busy, but good. Will write soon about graduation, and post photos to Flickr etc, but for now I must prepare to descend upon the local 24 hour Asda to see if I can claim a copy of the new Potter book. Lets reading desu!

A Bad Day, with added Films/TV

I am having a bad day today. I'm in one of those really shonky moods, when you really want things/someone you can't have. This isn't helped by being back in Nottingham, in the crappy house (it took 5 hours to get back here yesterday) which greeted me with a new ant infestation and the remains of a good hundred flying ant corpses across my kitchen floor. At least the ant powder worked I guess, but it really wasn't what I needed at 8:30pm last night. Nor did I need the new fresh batch of ant deaths that seemed to have made their way onto the floor this afternoon. The kitchen is now a shoe-only zone, yuck. I would rather go back to the cucarachas than have these ants which are supposed to fly, yet seem to be devoid of sense so they just kind of bounce around in a pointless manner. Hmph! The Gourmet Place at Wheatcroft also ran out of Brumptons Pork and Apple Burgers too, so my meals are full of woe til Friday! The baps and corn on the cobs are mourning their loss of purpose hehe. And to top it all, all the computers are breaking in this house :(! The MacBook has had a broken hinge for a while, so has to stay in a permanent open position and makes a horrible crunching sound whenever you either attempt to, or accidently, move the screen. And today, in my fateful decision to try and install the Sims (plus various add-ons), the computer had a fit and decided to break itself. I think it's the computers way of rebelling against the neglect of having been left, dismantled in the living room since April. Sads.

Phooo ranty! All trivial stuff really, but your brain works overtime when all you have to think about is whether or not it would be a good time to put some washing on. Thrilling, I assure you. Anyway, on a lighter note, I am thoroughly enjoying the new series of Rome. I loved the last series, but this new one is on twice a week, with more sexy men (although my last favourite has grown a decidedly ridiculous beard), and with more swearing and distinctly more anal rape. Bonuses lol! My favourite incidence of swearing has been 'By Juno's cunt!'. Excellent! I am still midly freaked out by Caesar Octavian's face. He is really quite terrifying, and resembles that terrifying woman in that make-up remover advert (she is here if you want to see - http://www.lorealparis.co.uk/minisites/demaq-expert/). I have really taken a liking to Titus Pullo in this series, it's as if he's really jumped out as a character in this series. Anyway, highly recommend this, it is worth the watch.

I also took advantage of my parents veritable cinema system on Saturday and watched the new War of the Worlds, Elizabethtown and Wedding Crashers. I was impressed by the new War of the Worlds, as I wasn't really expecting too much. I remember adoring the original when i was shown it in the school hall aged about 9, however I unfortunately couldn't remember any of the fine details for this remake to spoil. I also dislike Cruise as an actor, having only ever liked his performance in Collateral. However, the effects were good, and it was quite a good movie. Except for what felt like a slightly rushed ending, that annoying boy at the end, and Dakota Fannings tendency to over-act in parts.
Elizabethtown followed (as it was either this or the remake of Poseidon, erk), and that was pleasant enough. Quite a 'nice' movie, although it did have me going 'what?' for the first 40 minutes. And it had Orlando Bloom, who really can't act for toffee, which was a bit erggg. Oh, and Kirsten 'Plate-face' Dunst, who is amusing enough, with her wangy limbs haha ^-^. I sympathise, co-ordination can prove difficult. Still, kind of amusing, and gentle. With a great soundtrack. Yes. Don't rush out to see it, but it was a nice gentle evening movie.
Last, but not least was Wedding Crashers. Good comedy movie, but then again I would say that as I love Owen Wilson (giant nose and all). Was amusing, predictable and cringeworthy in places, just as one of those movies should be. Still, had me laughing along at midnight, I enjoyed it.

Right I think that's about it for now, can you tell I am a bored girl with a broken computer? Yes. Well. Oh, cosplay plans. There was some kind of talk about Shining *insert required genre* (Wind) cosplay not going ahead? Or something? Kat/Amy/Nia, are you still doing it for masq? Also Nia, I need to talk SotC with you. I saw you were going the natural materials route, so I might go for a cotton (or hopefully something more rustic/exotic) with a handpainted pattern for Mono's dress. Yay, sacrificial robes!

Life etc.

(I tried to write and post this yesterday, but after spying me on the computer yesterday morning, my mum cornered me and had me doing all kinds of job-suitability tests and looking through job adverts. She nearly made me apply for one, argh!)

So, being back in England after over a week of sun/sea/sand/water parks/good food really, really sucks. It's fricking freezing here :(! I was used to 24 degrees plus, *cry* :(. Anyway, news -

I got awarded a First Class Honours degree. May I say,WOO HOOOOOOO! Still not wholly sure why, but I'm not going to complain :D :D! Yeeee! How exciting! Although now, crap, what do I do with my life. I did have a brief flirtation with the idea of being a dolphin trainer after my visit to the dolphin show at the Aquapark in Tenerife. Although perhaps I should stick to the dolphin impressions whilst in the water instead. Hmm.

Other news - Tenerife was excellent! Apart from the god-awful 'Brits-abroad' atmosphere. But we were all expecting that so managed to avoid most of it with great ease. Had some great meals, although I didn't manage to find any 'Churros', noooo childhood memory~! But I did gorge myself on plenty of Flan de Vanille (creme caramel) and zumo de Meloncoton y Uva (peach and grape juice, ahhh godly). Didn't get any Pez in the end, as all we could find was some horribly freakish Shrek Pez, which would only put you off, tbh. Most of our time was spent at the pool and the beach, relaxing, although we did take a day out to go to the aforementioned waterpark, which was excellent (with added hot lifeguards). Only one complaint about the waterpark, the flooring. This had clearly not been thought out, because as soon as it got past 11:30am the floor became so scorchingly hot that you could practically hear your feet sizzling away. Although, this did provide great amusement to my sister and myself, as there is nothing quite like seeing a group of big, muscley, 'hard' lads dancing and prancing across the floor like a bunch of great jessies. Also, far too many girls over there think that topless flossing is a really great look. Those with great bodies, then I can understand. I did flirt with the idea of topless sunbathing ever so slightly, but then thought of burnt nipples and ending up like the 65+ year old down the beach who is also topless and in a thong, and just decided NO! This caused me more woe at the waterpark, when an obese, topless German lady came flinging down the rubber-ring slide before my turn, and I had to put up using what became dubbed as the 'boobie ring' on my go. Sads!

Anyway, that's enough updating for now, I have to return to Notts again tomorrow, and craps it's like only 5 weeks til Ame. Shit, cosplay!

Well, this was the best night I've had in a very long time. The venue was great, the acts were great and the company was brilliant ^-^!

Long Post Warning! )

The last hour was filled with dancing, cheesy music, classic songs and photographs (the rest of which can be found on Flickr/Facebook - if I figure out a way to post videos, I will edit). Didn't really want it to end, I was having such a good night. Although my feet were in some serious pain having been in heels for over 8 hours x_x. It's really sad to think that apart from Graduation next month, that's it. It's all over. I know I've been a lot less socialable at this university than Westminster, but I've still had a great time. Especially last night. I laughed a lot, danced every available minute and I wish it didn't have to end. Sads, grown up world now, boo :(.

Top Model, again.

  • Jun. 18th, 2007 at 10:14 PM

I have had a Top Model binge these last few days, meaning that I have now watched the whole of cycle 3 of Australia's NTM. I was very impressed, as Nia has mentioned before, it feels so much more like a modelling competition. I have become a little bit disappointed with America's past few cycles, with the girls being purely mediocre and the challenges/runway shows just being so overdramatic. This cycle of AuNTM was refreshing, and good fun to watch. Even if the finale was a parade of painstaking boredom, and mucked up voting arrangements, ughh.

Anyway, just watched the newest episode of Canada's NTM, and in comparison it's awfully disappointing. If it wasn't for the horrifically kitsch Mr Jay, I don't think I could watch much more. The girls are again, very mediocre, and it's a bit of a joke of a show. However, some wonderful lines came out of it, particularly -

"This has been a really challenging week, the girls have both learned to walk and to talk." HAHAHAHA! They kept going on about how they had been really poor at walking and talking, and in all serious, it sounded ridiculous. I was just waiting for "Next week, you girls will be learning how to chew, swallow and drink! That could be a tough one, and some of you will lose that waif-like shape you currently have. Following that, you all will be learning the most important pastimes of models, which will include learning the skills of snorting, injecting and guzzling alcohol!"

I know that is a horribly sweeping statement, but I really couldn't resist...

Grrrr Rant-tastic :(!

I am having one of those days >:(! Woke up tired, had to go into town to look for a dress for the Grad Ball, it rained - a lot, there was a complete lack of affordable dresses, seriously bad hair day - well, actually, my hair is in a constant bad state atm, and then to top it all off a man fell over on top of me on the bus home. He actually sat on me, for an inordinate length of time. My poor arm ;_;! Sads.

Blehhhhhhh x_x! Anyway, rant over. NTM update for Nia: Watched Ep 1 of AuNTM last night. Wow! Already this is quite good! Going to watch 2 and 3 hopefully tonight, but should be a fair way in by the end of the weekend. No spoilers plz, but so far I think Alice is really pretty and unusual, yet she desperately needs a meal. And a bikini wax apparantly. Can't stand Polenta, sorry I mean Paloma, and I was freaked out by how much Cobi (the first voted off) looked like one of the Olsen twins. Just a bit chubbier.

CNTM has amused Jon and I greatly. SHAMELESS product placement. So over the top it's unbelieveable! At one point during the photoshoot of the makeover it just had a completely pointless closeup of Nole Marin using an LG phone, and going "ooh, yeah, ooh", to the phone. What?! CNTM is definitely worst for product placement, it's like an assault. ANTM and AuNTM are nearly as bad though... oooh GHD, ooh Ford Fiesta, ooh Olay, ooh Covergirl! Anyway, Nia, CNTM is poor (like Britain's - which starts again 6th July) yet Mr Jay presents it :D.

Boys

A very pleasant afternoon at Sandbanks (oooOOOohhh very expensive, very posh houses) where we strolled along on the sand with our trouser legs rolled up. This is when natural light makes my fake tan look very odd. Yellow ankles = not a good look x_x. Evening spent at Poole Quay, fish and chips and some good, and some not so good live music. Oh and of course, pointing out which Sunseeker yacht/penthouse apartment you're going to buy when you win the lottery/become some kind of star/etc.

The main reason for this post was to wirte up about a very funny incident that happened whilst my mum and I were stood listening to a band. This boy, chav boy, came wandering towards us. After gawking at my sister, he started gawking at me. And then something very bizarre happened. As he pasted me, he turned and barked. Yes, barked. Like a Rrrrrarfff. Unfortunately, he barked as he stodd off the curb, and therefore barked at my left breast, within about 6 inches of it. He barked at my left breast! What?! I do admit that it is a very fine left breast, but I'm sure that it's nothing to bark at! He may have been making some kind of derogatory 'dog' comment, but he did look quite embarassed as my mother and I fell about laughing at him, and scuttled off in his swaggery-chavvy way. Odd boy!

Let's updating!

Well, I can say this whole no-uni, no job yet, relaxing situation is suiting me well at the moment ^-^! Down at my parents in the very sunny Salisbury for the week, where I am enjoying eating them out of house and home, and getting away with doing very little. Came down last weekend for my good friend Polly's wedding which was all very civilised and lovely. We all looked very grown up all smartly dressed, even if it was mostly black haha! I wore a skirt, which both my parents nearly keeled over at, and I think we all agree that Kat, in a dress, was a sight that we're all not going to see again for a very, very, long time. Even if you did look really pretty, Kat!

The rest of the weekend was spent enjoying barbequed food (which is the best kind of food, in my opinion) and catching up on a few missed shows like Dr Who. Jon went back to Nott's for work, so all I have been doing is lying in the sunshine outside reading the next book in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series (<3), walking the dogs, and obsessively playing Zoo Keeper. GAH! Animal puzzles take over my life :(! Heading off to the seaside tomorrow, one of my favourite places to be, after the dentist though, boo :(. Fish and chip dinner though, yay :D!

In other news, I'm really rather surprised at the marks I'm getting this year. In a kind of holy crap, what the... kind of way. Whoever knew that the longer you leave it to the last minute, and the more completely stressed out and panicky at 4am you become, the chance of you getting firsts rises? Odd. Or of course, it could totally be down to the method posted on J's (jvchamary) journal. I'm going with that option.

Anyway, apart from the seaside, must construct 'Under the Sea' costume for Johnny's party the saturday. Jellyfish phwoooooo~~~! Really looking forward to it, but I am rather sad that I will be missing the Mexican pubcrawl :(! Too many themed events at the same time people!
