Howdy, y'all! I'm still alive. I participate in some LJ comms but keeping up with posting and reading the flist here is a little intimidating; it takes so much time. Raina's already 10 months old and still the most wonderful thing. She's so beautiful and content and happy and smily. She truly is the best thing in life. :)

a few more if you wanna looksie )

I hope everyone is doing well and hopefully I can check in soon with some of you. I have so many awesome people on the flist. I browsed through some entries the other day to see what everyone is up to and for some of you, it seems as though I have missed a lot! But take care. I just felt compelled to leave a message and say a howdy-do!!

Only have a minute. Wanted to drop a line to let everyone know I will be MIA for awhile. I went in for a doctor's visit and ended up being stuck in the hospital to have labor induced. I am now a mother. And a busy one. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, 20 inches, 6 lbs. 15 oz, born October 5 at 8:52 am. I am in awe of her. SO I wont be around for awhile and if I get a sec I will put up a hiatus note to the website too.

..and I'm not even gonna mention politics 'cause really...what's there to say anymore? Mad World.

Dude, how did I ever live without a DVR?!

Best. Invention. Ever.

I use it everyday to record everything from Jeapordy to science shows to primetime goodies. I also got a cable upgrade so now I get more channels...like, the good ones that the stupid basic cable wouldn't give me, such as Sci-Fi and the History Channel. Yayz.

As for my PC issues: I am currently writing a shitload of files (in safe mode) to disk and my plan is to simply wipe the whole hard drive clean and reinstall everything. I'm really not so upset over it anymore; in fact it gives me the opportunity to start fresh and rid mysel fo all those clunky files that tend to accumulate after a number of years. All I can hope is that all works out well.

Thanks for all the help, guys! Especially [info]cassiee and [info]rosely.

Okay, my birthday was cool. I just chilled, as I normally do. My uncle gave me $300 and my boyfriend bought me a new super-comfy computer chair 'cause my last one broke and the temp one sucked. He also got me a new bed set...comforter, pillowcases, shams, sheets and a bedskirt. Me likes! My mom didn't get me anything but I don't get her anything on her bday either. It's like an agreement we have and it works out fine. I went over to the uncle and mom's house for some meatloaf, mashed potatoes and some veggies, followed by some chocolate cake. Everything was good. And then I came home and watched House. Thanks to y'all for the bday wishes! xoxo

As for the baby shower, I got tons of useful stuff. That's the best part: it's all useful. Even the clothes are awesome...no silly froufrou pink dresses or anything. I got a super stroller that has tons of space and will be used for years. I got TWO bouncy chairs, which is cool 'cause I can leave one at the fam's house since the baby will spend lots of time there too. I got a good and colorful swing. And of course I got lots of receiving blankets and clothes and other baby supplies.

My mom and uncle got me a wonderful, custom-made crib Tinkerbell set. It's just wonderful and pretty and I adore it. I can't wait for my furniture arrives (also from the fam) so I can put the nursery together.

And my sister got me tons of stuff! She was very generous. 1) An Eddie Bauer diaper bag, 2) a cute outfit, 3) a breast pump, 4) a manicure before the shower plus some clothes for me a few weeks earlier, AND.......5) a digital camera! Like, a nice one. A Canon SD450 Elph.

Also, someone gave me the softest blanket ever. omg, it's the best. Everyone wanted one and it was just for me. :D And Pete's mom made two blankets for the baby. That is just amazing. I love that my daughter will grow up with something made especially for her by her grandmother.

Okay, that's about all for now. I gotsta to finish my thank you cards by the morning so they can be sent out.

So I know I haven't written up an entry about what ny baby shower was like but I haven't felt like it because my computer is pissing me off. I'm currently using my laptop. It seems my desktop has caught some annoying worm that causes the system to continuously reboot right after it starts. It doesn't give me any time to search the system for malicious files or time to run a scan or anything. And I haven't even found much help online with the problem. If anyone knows anyhting about this I would love to find a solution.

My boyfriend just got me a copy of Photoshop CS2 and I haven't even been able to play with it since I installed it the other day. What the hell is this stupid worm and how do I get rid of it!?!? *stabs PC*

But the shower was aweome and I got lots of realy useful stuff. Maybe I will go into more detail later when I get this stupid shit off my computer.

The newest Entertainment Weekly was the Fall TV Preview and it was loaded with tons of awesome pics. I spent like 4 hours scanning, cropping and cleaning them all yesterday. How productive.

So I just got over a horrible adware/malware/bullshit infestation on my desktop PC. It took a lot of work to get rid of it but I think I'm in the clear. I had to use about five different programs to rid myself of it, including that tricky HijackThis, but I think I am back in business! I haven't been doing much with the www the past week or so; I've been using my laptop, but mostly to just check email and play FreeCell and Spades, games I haven't played in forever.

I got to say though, I LOVE google. It totally saved my ass. Evrytime I came across a Trojan or Adware thing that I couldn't get rid of, I just googled it and found a solution. Thank you google!!

Other than that...what's up with me? Not much. We decided on what we are going to name our baby girl: Raina James. I just adore it! And so does my boyfriend and my mom. In fact, my mom is the one who suggested it. Of course she suggested a bunch of other names first that I just had to reject but Raina stuck. I think it's lovely. And unique enough so that she will be the only one she knows with the name but no so unique that is sounds crazy, you know?

Okay, still browing through the flist here and then I am going to get something to eat and then cap some more Prison Break episodes.

"Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you." -Fox Mulder

La la la. I miss you guys. I've been sooo busy! You would not beleive all the home improvements and projects I had/still have going on. The entire house was repainted, save for my bedroom which will be done in a couple weeks. I got new windows. I got a new fridge and stove. I got some new cable hookups around the house, including an actual home phone! Gasp! I haven't had a a phone in forever! I've moved so much furniture around and I went through absolutely everything in my house and got rid of everything I don't want/need/use. And still.....I am getting my house rewired and my bedroom repainted. Sheesh. My uncle has done all this for me; he and my mom are so excited for the baby and they want the house to be in perfect standing. I'm such a lucky girl.

As for the baby news...I have an appoinment next Wednesday at which time I will be able to schedule an appointment for an ultrasound. So I should know the sex soon...provided the baby cooperates. The boyfriend and I haven't really agreed on any names yet but I do know that whether it is a boy or girl I am giving it the middle name James, after my uncle. Cause he's the bestest.

I also redesigned the website. That was a project! There were just too many sites that looked too similar to mine and I felt like it was time for a change. I even managed to get oth coppermine sections and my lj to match. It took a while to figure out how the global head thing works but I got it now. And I was able to finally use some of my 70s Show scans; I scanned over 50 of them and I've only used like two.

Okay, just checking in, y'all. I'm gonna go browse my flist. It's like 3am so I don't imagine I will go comment crazy, but I'm gonna se what's u with y'all. xoxox

"I don't want to repeat my innocence. I want the pleasure of losing it again." -F. Scott Fitzgerald

Hey y'all. Taking a bit of an LJ break. Been really busy with some house spring cleaning and I feel really exhausted all the time. I can only stay awake for a block of fo a few hours at a time. But I can feel the baby move a lot now! I have a doctor's appointment in nine days so I want to ask when I can have another sonogram to find out the baby's sex!

Also, my boyfriend's sister is in the National Guard and is being sent to Iraq in the transpotation unit. That's a very worrying thought especially since she will be on all those convoys with the IEDs. It doesn't seem right to send the National Guard overseas...I'm just sayin'.

Anyway, I made a few Grey's Anatomy walls. Haven't made any slash art in a good while so...

If I am missing any important life stuff from anyone on the flist, please let me know! I should be back around more frequently in about a week when the spring cleaning finally draws to a close.

"Because they're stupid. That's why everybody does everything." -Homer Simpson

In the last couple days my internet broke, my air conditioning broke and my house was put on the market. So let me break it down for you real quick here:

1. Internet. It just stopped working. And then a day and half or so later, it just started working. So whatever.

2. The A/C. it just stopped working. And then some guy came out and took a look and bascially the system just needed to be cleaned out. So yay. It works now.

3. My uncle put this house on the market...and then later in the day he took it off. He really hates my neighbors and doesn't want the baby living next to them. But I'm gonna live here for another few years and then we'll be getting me another house.

So all in all...much ado about nothing, eh? 'Twas a strange few days.

So because of the internet trouble I haven't checked the flist in a few days. I have lots of house cleaning to do so I don't know if I will catch up although I will try. but let me know if there are any prressing issues I should know of. xoxo

"The right to be heard does not autmatically include the right to be taken seriously." -H. Humphrey

Decided to post all the wallpapers I made in the last two weeks 'cause I just spent like 15 hours in front of my computers for Memorial Day organizing folders, playing in PS, listening to podcasts and capping a few episodes of SatC. It stormed like a motherfucker today so I was stuck inside...and the thunder was racuous and nonstop. It actually sounded really cool. I peeked out the window for awhile to watch all the rain come shattering down and I was ever so tmepted to go strolling through it. I haven't done that in ages. But this was like hardcore movie rain--the kind that just comes down in daggers, where you are soaked within three seconds of stepping into it.

So me and the boyfriend go shopping for some food to barbeque and we get back here and....my fucking grill is GONE! My neighbors steal everything! Two garbage cans and a grill. Jeez. Thankfully I had an extra one in the garage but it is a really small portable one so I'm still pissed.

Alias Finale...two words: POETIC JUSTICE

Dude. I am actually quite satisfied with the last Alias episode EVER. cut for spoilers. )

I watched some of the first hour of the 24 finale but I am going to watch the whole thing in its entirety tomorrow...if I can hold out! I promised by boyfriend I would tape it for him since he had to go to his son's baseball game.

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on." -Robert Frost

Been busy with baby stuff. My mom and uncle are so excited they even started shopping for cribs and dressers and whathaveyou. I'm so lucky. My baby will have everything he/she needs and wants. I love my mom and uncle. They are also terribly concerned with making sure I am eating well and enough.

Anyway...I'm so behind on my flist....I've been catching up on it for the past hour and a hlf already and I am still at like skip=60. *le sigh* I kinda just want to lay down and finish my Gilmore Girls season five marathon (and I took some caps of a few eps too!). I've never seen it as I don't really watch the show ehen it airs...I wait for the DVDs. So I am gonna try and browse instead of reading absolutely everything. Forgive me please. Me is tired.

prison break: michael/lincoln

Okay, I just wrote a friends-locked post that I think is special so here's a fandom post from me:

1. I commented on a lot of my flist's posts about these already so I'll just sum it up real quick. Monday night season finales:

Prison Break )

Grey's Anatomy )

2. If anyone knows of a torrent for Mondays' Everwood please let me know. I can't find one!! I could only watch/tape so much TV at the same time.

3. Some news leaked about the CW pickups/cancellations. But I guess y'all heard that already. I'm pretty cool about it all around. I mean, what are you gonna do about it anyway if you didn't like the results?

4. Dude, the Entertainment Weekly article on the Lost finale was awesome and I so cannot wait for the last three hours. I am a whore for his show. Almost everyone on my flist is cuckoo over Veronica Mars but I am all about Lost even if I do like the former...it's just not as good, imo. There, I said it.

5. I made some wallpapers recently after not playing in photoshop in a long while. Preview: (spoilers for VM and Lost)

2 Veronica Mars
4 Lost
1 House
1 Gilmore Girls
1 Buffy tVS
1 Angel manip

Bigger versions below )

6. There's ome new shows for the fall I found interesting for one reason or another. Take a gander. )

May. 15th, 2006

TV overload never gets me down but it does get me behind.

There is WAY too much TV I need to watch tonnight. SO much, in fact, that I will be forced into downloading something since I can't tape/watch everything at the same time. Stupid Monday. Well, at least two season finales air tonight. That's comforting....the tv season coming to an end and all.

Prison Break
24
Everwood
Grey's Anatomy - 2 hrs

That's a lot of viewing. Good thing I only have to watch 2 hours of it tonight. Grey's and Everwood can wait till tomorrow or something.

I installed another Coppermine gallery on my site, this time for the fanart section. It looks so pretty. I hate customizing coppermine...it's such a tedious process. But it looks good. that's what matters.
