The Office

Confused?

Not for long!

Dwight realizes it's her, and then continues the conversation on the phone. While not looking at her! Heh.

I love it when Jim finally figures out that Pam is actually going to make them stay there. And when he realizes how much fun it could be. (JKras can do a lot with the back of his head.)

the business of breaking up

This reminded me a lot of Pam's art show. Even BEFORE what came later.

I love how Pam is all: "OH, OPPORTUNITY"
And Jim is all: "What, you want me to do something?"
And she's like: "Well, DUH, dumbass!"

And then she can't help smiling anyway.

My overriding sentiment towards this entire segment? HAHAHAHAHA!

Once again: HAHAHAHAHA!

life on the farm

harry potter!

century check

Yep! Still the 21st.

So, who's yawning right now? (Besides me, I mean.)

douchebag!

One small exchange to sum up my issues with Toby. It's not that I don't like him, but his crush on Pam kinda creeps me out at this point.

Okay, so I get the "whatever, loser" part, but what was that last thing? "You're a dead man?"

I don't know, I kinda like them...

OH NO YOU DIDN'T

more life on the farm

Complete with pushed together beds. Hee!

You know, when I imagined Jim in the stairwell with someone up against the wall, THIS WAS NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND!

Also, I can't be the only one who thought that Dwight would be relieved that Jim had time to leave before he made himself even more vulnerable, right?

italian food, ftw!

I love how Pam is like "Hi!" and Jim is all: "Yeah, yeah, whatever, no time for chit-chat."

all was well

(Oh yes, I went there.)

ETA: Forgot to link the caps

And she's like: "Well, DUH, dumbass!"

This is one of the few times I've felt them to be mean. Even though the motivation was "opportunity to get out of dinner," because of Michael's reaction, it came across as "make Michael feel even worse." Luckily, they redeemed themselves with the Dwight stuff at the end. (And it's interesting to think about the fact that Jim had no problem siccing Andy on Pam, but Pam has qualms about siccing Andy on Angela and...all the other cross-siccing that would create.)

Okay, so I get the "whatever, loser" part, but what was that last thing? "You're a dead man?"
Oooh, that's what the W was! Maybe the last thing was "You're dead to me"? Maybe? Oh, Kelly.

Has Pam ever worn something that green before? Relatedly, she looks really good in pink.

I loved the shot of Michael and Jan's shoes, even though in retrospect, it seems more art-y and less documentary-y.

If I thought that there was even the remotest chance that Michael might catch on, or that they thought that Michael might catch on, then yeah, maybe. But I still think that they're pretty saintly. It's one thing for the audience to feel for Michael, but can you imagine having him for a boss? Someone who's that childish, annoying and inept, and who considers himself to be one of your best friends? I'd start working from home, that's what I'd do.

Hey, documentaries can be arty!

Well, I'm not using the "pretty people" in the context of "OMG! ovaries go 'splody" so much as I've always like Office capspam since I find the people to be aesthetically pleasing, or something. Pam will always be made of adorable, though.

I desperately need Office icons. *goes off to find some*

I like that they're ordinary-looking, it works so well for the show. And I find Jenna positively gorgeous as herself, and Pam's starting to morph into Jenna a bit this season (in a character-who-is-developing, not in an actress-who-doesn't-know-the-definition-of-the-word-boundaries kind of way), which is definitely her prettiest season to date.

YES. It's been the first time in a long time that I've itched to make icons after an episode (it being so stark and all due to the documentary cinematography, I rarely get excited about the look, so there has to be emotional excitement. And BOY, was that ever present in this one!)

Man, Pam and her pretty pretty sweaters! I love that they use such subtle, real ways to make these characters grow. And it hits very close to home for me because I used to just wear black all the time because it was easy (and slimming!) and now I force myself to buy bright colors and not worry and Pam is doing that because she is more confident and in love and just *clutches heart*. So so pretty!

I am loving her clothes this season. And the hair! And the fact that it's been a long time coming and we can see why she's different because we saw her take those baby steps at the start of last season, trying to forge a new identity in the wake of the break-up from Roy.

Definitely in the episode, since I don't usually watch the deleted scenes (too much of a hassle when you're not living Stateside).

Feel free to use them for icons for yourself, but please don't use them for icons for sharing. If you want to make icons for sharing I've uploaded the untreated caps, they're linked at the bottom of the post.

You have totally brightened up my day. THANK YOU!!!! (I try not to check LJ at work, but yeah. Bad day.) And now I can't stop smiling.

There are so many things to say, so let me stick with what I learned that I didn't notice in my 2+ viewings last night: 1) Mose hiding in the shadows, and 2) pushed together beds. Thank you so much, because I'm not sure I would have ever noticed that second one. I find I have to rewatch scenes over and over because so much is going on. Like, look only at Jim this time, then only Pam next time, and so on.

I'm still in full-on glow from this episode. It's so nice to know that my fandom love isn't dead, it's just been sleeping because no one was trying hard enough to wake it up.

In conclusion, the two top right-hand caps are ridiculously gorgeous for the smiles/looks/make-believe of what might be happening behind the door.

Anything that makes you smile is ultimately a good thing, right? ESPECIALLY when you're having a bad day.

Heh, I've never really had a hankering for a Mose icon, but damn, that cap is just perfect! Though I'm pretty sure you would have learned about the pushed together beds from someone. I haven't seen a ton of people mentioning it, but word gets around. =)

I know what you mean about the glow, all the time I was making this picspam (and it took a loooong time) I was smiling.

As happy as the pushed together beds made me, I'm kinda sorta having a problem seeing them having sex (unless it was BECAUSE it was so dirrrrty. And let me tell you, I wouldn't mind reading that fic), but even the cuddling/spooning/can't-bear-to-not-be-next-to-you makes me all giddy.

You know, when I imagined Jim in the stairwell with someone up against the wall, THIS WAS NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND!

AHAHHAAHAHAA, agreed!

Things I never thought we'd see:

1) Jim and Pam kissing in the office!!
2) Michael sitting...on a freight train.
This show is amazing.

Oh, you capped! EXCELLENT. I HAVE PLANS.

Hee, it's just so out there, and it works beautifully!

Jim and Pam kissing in the office!!
Except for when it happened before, right? ;-) But I know what you mean, it was kind of startling to see it happen in front of everybody (and the cameras!) like that. The setup worked so well, though, I didn't for a moment think it felt forced.

I only did a "picspam" capping job, which means I only capped those scenes I wanted to include, so I hope your plans involve Pam and Jim. Or anything on the farm, because how could I not cap that?

I've had this post opened in a tab all day and I just keep randomly clicking back over to bask in the glory of this episode.

I can't even pick a favorite part. Well, fine, I CAN. But aside from the kiss, it is impossible. MOSE MOSE MOSE! Everything Mose did made me so happy. Especially when he was running next to the car - I laughed for like ten minutes. The writers need to come up with a storyline that would somehow bring Mose into the office. That would make my life.

And the Jim/Dwight scene killed me. John and Rainn knocked that out of the park. And, man, I knew Jim was pining back in season two (and three as well, now that we have some insight), but I never really thought about HOW BAD it was for him. It almost adds this whole new underlying layer of sadness to season two. We knew it was there, but we just didn't know how bad it was. I think most people look back at season two as lighthearted and fun, but it was really quite tragic how miserable Jim was. It makes the fact that they're both so happy now all the more satisfying.

I liked the episode even better the second time around! That's how much stuff I missed from the first viewing.

I think I enjoyed everything leading up to the kiss more than the actual kiss, because it was so emotionally charged. Though my favorite part would have to be anything and everything that happened on that farm.

Jim always seemed to brush it off in front of the cameras, but considering how clear it was to everyone how much he loved Pam, it's pretty obvious, in retrospect, that there had to be much more under the surface. Jim and Pam are one couple I wouldn't have a problem with seeing happy all the time. The writers have already shown that happiness doesn't make them boring.

Say what? I didn't even get any Toby/Pam vibes. Was there a moment that I missed?!

Also, my favorite part of the episode, hands down, was when Mose ran around Jim and Pam's arriving car. I laughed so hard, I wheezed. It was glorious.

Hee, it's kind of funny how I expect people to be able to read my mind. The exchange in question went something like this:

Kelly: "You have to choose, me or your daughter."
Darryl (without even a pause): "My daughter."

Whereas Toby is willing to toss his daughter aside for someone he's never even been on a date with. She's the one who had to remind him of his own daughter's existence. Twice.

I mean, I know it's played for laughs, but something about it just rubs me the wrong way. Toby's supposed to be a good father! Or so I thought until he started crushing on Pam.

Mose (and the farm) was more awesome than I ever could have dreamt. Not that I've done a lot of dreaming about Mose, but you know...

This was a really packed episode and I was distracted when watching it last night, so this has made me realize how much I missed on my first watch! And I'm torn because I would like for Ryan and Kelly to get back together and then go away but I do enjoy Ryan more in a love to hate way since he's been on his power trip. And maybe I was too serious last night but I loved Michael/Jan/freight train muchly - to the point of tearing up!

I really caught a lot when I capped that I didn't see on the first go, and that was without actually watching it, I just skipped to the parts I wanted to cap.

I've never really liked Ryan, more like loved to hate him - and even more so since his promotion - so I'm liking the Kelly/Darryl dynamic. Especially since it seems like he won't actually put up with some of her more annoying traits, which, good for him!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. =)

Before I posted this picspam I hadn't seen many people mentioning it. If any, now that I think about it (the one I thought had mentioned it actually speculated on whether they pushed the beds together or if they linked pinkies). It was just REALLY obvious when I was capping, but it's in the middle of the farm montage, and your kinda too busy being gleeful about the table-making demonstrations and whatnot to give serious thought to the implications of Pam's look back into the room.

(I yawned when I saw the word in your comment. True story.)
