I keep meaning to cut Happy Endings because I've never really taken to it, but all of a sudden I've watched an entire season, just from inertia. Maybe next year? If it even gets renewed, that is.

Looking forward to quite a few more:

Next week we have Veep and Defiance starting. And Awkward, but I'm not sure if I'll watch this season. I've also got a few episodes of Top of the Lake, but I haven't gotten around to them yet. And, of course, the Arrested Development excitement is ever-present.

I'm also thinking of trying out House of Cards and catching up on Nikita. Anyone got any other recs? What was Banshee like?

My first reaction when I heard about the VM movie was "No, no, no". But then, as the news settled in, I started thinking that there's probably not a way for them to screw it up any worse than season 3 and I settled down into calm acceptance.

Then today came the thought that actually made me happy about this (and may even make me donate): RENEWED INTEREST COULD MEAN SEASON 1 ON BLU-RAY. Even if this movie sucks to high heaven, if it gets me season 1 on Blu-Ray, I will love it forever.

I have to say, though, that the backlash of "how can you spend money on something so frivolous when you could donate it to charity" is beyond ridiculous. Like seriously? THAT'S your argument? Because pretty much every single person in the entire world is guilty of buying things that are not a) shelter, b) food, c) clothes, which means it's now you against the world (except you're probably guilty of it too, so HELLO, hypocrite!).

Also, I love this fandom a whole hell of a lot, even if the show did crash and burn, so seeing all the old faces again has been wonderful.

In other news, the exclusion of older fandoms has made my interest in Fandom March Madness fall to practically nothing. You know, there's a reason why those fandoms are still powerhouses after all these years - we have years of investment in them, unlike, say, 17 episodes of Joan Watson (who I'll still be voting for until the end).

I'm currently marathoning Parenthood, which is good, but not really revolutionary television watching. It's comforting background noise, though.

As for current shows, I'm loving this season of Lost Girl, I'm so happy the right person won Top Chef, The Americans continues to fascinate me every week, and even though it's only been a couple of weeks, I am so ready for Elementary to return (which I just realized it does tonight, so YAY).

Still haven't watched this week's Revenge, and I'm not sure I will. It's really hard to work up any sort of enthusiasm for that show. In surprising news, I'm still watching Deception. Surprising to me, that is, because I was ready to drop it, but then I watched episode 5, which was actually kind of intriguing.

What would we post about if we didn't have icon memes?

Haven't had a chance to watch the second episode of The Americans yet so my comments from last week still stand.


And the reason why I haven't watched it is because I'm marathoning Shameless (US) and loving it! I'm almost done with season 2, so nearly caught up...

I bought a box set of the first five seasons of the British version a few years back when it was really cheap. Anyone watch it? How does it stack up against the American version?

I've been so excited about Community's return, but then I saw someone mention Dan Harmon no longer being there, which apparently I'd managed to repress, and it was like the air just went out of my happy bubble. I'm still in a tizzy but now it's at least 65 percent anxiety.

TV has been pretty amazing this week, but I have way too many feelings about it for one am. Next time! Oh, except one thing about ( The Americans...Collapse )
