In a statement posted to her official Senate web site, Hillary Clinton said that the DHS should "issue a formal statement reassuring immigrant victims of Hurricane Rita and Katrina that they can seek help from relief agencies without fear of deportation or being turned over to immigration authorities." -- Hillary's official Senate web site.
I feel bad for the people who the hurricane hit... I really do. BUT... to suggest that illegal aliens who should not have been here, there, or anywhere in the first place DESERVE any sort of assistance is idiotic.
Fucking moron...

We wouldn't have to wonder whether or not we could feed these illegal immigrants and whether or not we should deport them rather than house them IF our borders were tighter, IF we deported people who snuck into the country, IF IF IF. If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride. I am not saying that we shouldn't give them food, water, a tent, etc... I am just saying that we should pack that food, and water, and tent into a backpack and let them take it with them when we ship their ass back to wherever they belong.

We have people starving to death in in this country long before these natural disasters, so what do we do? We slash taxes for the wealthy, run up a huge deficit, slash social programs for the underprivileged, and then--as an ultimate coup-de grôis--slather over a hundred billion dollars over an unprovoked war based completely on lies, and then turn around and give the no-bid rebuilding contracts to über-corporations formerly led by administration members. That's what we do.
We can't send these people back. We need them to pay state and local taxes because the Republicans keep slashing taxes for the wealthy. If we're ever going to pay down this unbelievable debt we're in, we need every nickel in the tax base we can get.

Compassionless, Rampant Apathy Party?
Since a majority of illegal immigrants get paid "under the table" by their employers, they really can't pay much in the way of taxes (with the exception of sales tax), and i honestly don't know how much that contributes to the deficit. What really bothers me is that both parties are always so eager to point out how the other side has really fucked up and ruined our country. But, let's remember that BOTH sides have had their time to shine and as a result created two senseless, bloody wars and a huge national deficit. The Democrats are just as bad at running the country as the Republicans.
And I say this as a registered Republican.
