| Bio: | Background: Katherine Grace O’Sullivan was born March 15, 1741 into a traditional Irish family in Galway. Her brother, Liam, was fourteen at the time and from that moment on, a bond was forged between the two. A loving child, Kathy refused to see anything but good in her brother, despite the fact that his questionable social activities cast a shadow over their family, depriving her of the friendships of other children, whose families had been dubbed more ‘respectable’ than their own. As she grew older, the tables turned somewhat. When Liam returned from a night of carousing, she would be the one to care for him. Though seeing him in that state was heartbreaking, she refused to give up on him. Over the years, tensions in the house increased between Liam and their father, until finally erupting one morning in 1953. Following a fight, Liam left the home despite their father’s warnings that if he walked out the door, he would never be allowed back again. The girl had stood there with her mother and watched him leave, but not before seeing his sister’s obvious distress, Liam wiped her eyes, promising “Sweet Kathy, no tears. We’ll meet again.” She remembered hating her father then, pleading with her mother to bargain for his return to their home, and refusing to believe the argument that their father had acted out of concern for Liam’s best interests That very night, Liam was been found dead, and instantly their house was in an uproar. And, though she knew it was final she clung to denial as a means of solace, rationalizing that it must not be true, as nobody would give her a straight answer as to what had happened to him. It hadn’t hit her until the following evening. During the traditional wake, she was struck by the irony that his return to their home—for which she had prayed so hard—was due to such a circumstance. The following days were a blur. There was the funeral, of course, and loads of neighbors offering their condolences. Kathy had been content to hover in the background, constantly studying the sketches her brother had done for her until she had converted each stroke to memory. It was her only comfort. The night following his funeral, Kathy was interrupted from her mourning by a knock at the door. On the other side awaited what she wrongly assumed was her beloved brother, returning to her as an angel with the intentions of making good on his promise that they would be reunited. Liam had never broken a promise to her before. And so, Angelus was named. The newly-sired vampire took advantage of his sister’s naivety, gaining her permission to enter their home before killing her and their mother, and ultimately their father, all in the name of revenge for how the man had treated him in life. GAME HISTORY: Nearly 300 years after her death, Kathy was resurrected by Wolfram and Hart, who had full intentions of using her as a means of distraction for Angel. She was given false memories of growing up as an average, modern-day child and placed with a family who worked for the firm. She is currently under the impression that her name is Katherine “Katie” Miller, and she is a straight-A student in the eighth grade. Katie has a passion for period-piece movies, with Amadeus, Gone With The Wind, and 1776 being three of her all-time favorites. Her “family” has recently moved to Hope Falls, Rhode Island “to be closer to her ailing grandmother”, but Katie is taking the move in stride. Her new junior-high school has thriving music and theater programs, and in the short time since her change of residence, she has immersed herself in extra-curricular activities. However, she has also begun to have strangely vivid dreams, here and there, revolving around characters she can’t quite explain. At this point, the magic seems to be wearing off, and all she needs is the proper trigger to remember who she really is. Personality Katherine is at a somewhat awkward stage in her life. She has been a sweet, albeit rather shy and reserved child her whole life, but is finally starting to come out of her shell. A compassionate, lively pre-teen, she has a sometimes wild imagination, which she is discovering how to channel towards the arts. And, as can be expected, she has recently discovered make-up, fashion, and worst of all—boys. On a softer side, Kathy/Katie (Let’s call her ‘Kay’ for the time being to minimize confusion), is very sympathetic and forgiving. She has been known to be the first to offer a hug and an ear to whoever might need one, regardless of who that person might be. Her teachers would describe her as ‘dedicated’, as she also happens to be a perfectionist, both inside of the classroom and out. She has several little quirks about her, such as an impulse to keep things in her bedroom organized, and the fact that she has never thrown away a ticket stub from the movies. The said bedroom’s wall can attest to that. Her ‘parents’ are more than a little over-protective of her, a fact which annoys Kay increasingly. Since she has no reason or cause to suspect that their intentions might differ from the simple idea of ‘love’, she does her best to bear with them…though she has toyed with the idea of sneaking out on more than one occasion.
