come away with me, draw shadows on my windowpane

shipwrecked's innerself. images, words, snatches of light, colour and sound. transient heartbeats, laughter caught in the back of the throat and things that are at once familiar and foreign.

there is not much you need to know but this. when you ask "but what does it all mean?", i ask "what does the meaning matter? would anything be different if you had a definite answer?"

you want meaning? go! look at a tree straight on -- memorize the angles of the branches, the swell of the roots pushing up from the earth. know this and know nothing. until you've been in front of, behind, beneath, within, underneath -- until you've made the tree become more and less, nothing and exactly like itself, you've never known the tree. if you can't see that every angle, every moment, every breath is different, there is nothing for you here.

if you don't want to be always asking, always searching, seeking, needing, discarding, discovering, aching, grasping at truth only to have it slip away at the last second, you don't really want to be living. STOP. stop breathing, looking, seeing. walk without feeling, open your eyes to only what you expect. leave the experiences to the others. stop living.

I am constant motion, wind and water. Always I feel sea-foam beneath my feet. Always I lick salt from my bruised, stinging lips.
