Come on flists, I need your help!

I recently started a new job and as much as I'm not one to slack off when there's work to do, I have recently volunteered for the night shift when theres not always stuff to do.

So I need fun WORK-SAFE websites to visit. I'm sticking away from Fanfic and fanart, due to the fact that reading is too distracting and you don't always know if the story is work-safe from the tags.

Help? Please?

Urgh,

I have been a SPN fan for a while, a hesistant member of the fandom. One of the main reasons I dislike the fandom around it is the massive amount of hatred directed towards female characters that are potential love interests for the main characters. It seems like the only reason for the female-directed hatred is no-one could ever come between the brothers epic bromance and no matter how the show-runners write them, young females are universally hated.

So about 4 months ago, I get introduced to the Hawaii 50 fandom. Theres amazing strong female characters who kick ass, are fully developed characters and *gasp* even have the potential to become love interests. And the fandom loves them for it.

Then while looking at ONTD for H50 news, I find this.....

I got home from work at 5.30pm today and I’ve cried on and off since then.

Christchurch is a beautiful city. I’ve been there once, toured with friends, went to Cathedral Square and rode the trams. And all I’ve seen since I got home are the horrifying scenes of carnage and rubble that now made up such a peaceful and picturesque place.

I live nowhere near Christchurch, but we still felt the shock here. Not just the subtle shaking, but the general fear of people running around, trying to contact friends and family. My sister’s sport teammate (and close friend) works in the CBD of Christchurch; no-one’s managed to locate her yet and there are fears for her safety. NZ may be a country of 4 million, but at times it feels like less than 4 hundred thousand. Everyone’s worried about someone they know, everyone’s got a specific name in their prayers tonight.

Even the news people were shocked and confused. One reporter was on-scene of an office building that had collapsed in on itself, trapping many inside. The reporter was almost as upset as those who had friends and co-workers inside. On the main coverage, there were times that the Anchor was obviously on the verge of tears and even times where I think she had let her tears fall when another feed was being broadcast. Hell, I feel shocked and upset and I have no real reason to; not compared to what horrors others are facing right now.

The TV replays hour after hour of footage. (raw footage availble here but beware as its shocking & heartbreaking) Boulders bigger than houses covering the streets, historical buildings nothing but ruins. The heart of Christchurch ‘the Catholic Cathedral’ is barely standing, even claiming victims of its own when it’s main spiral collapsed in on itself in one of the aftershocks. No deaths have been confirmed from its collapse, but a group of visitors were inside when it went and the news goes on about the one life saved. Below its broken facade is the square, where many terrified people walked to and sheltered before it fell. The News avoid the subject, but there are surely bodies buried there tonight.

Please keep those in Christchurch, particularly those still trapped in rubble in your prayers and well-wishes over the next week or so. They're most definately going to need it.

I have found old drabbles for a script I'm writting and I can't remember if they're mine or not. It makes me wonder about my self-esteem when its comes to writing because I think its mine but it seems to funny/good.......

My biggest worry at the moment has to be one experienced by a lot of new graduates and school-leavers; I'm worried about my career and future. I like my current job, but it only shows the slightest hope of moving upwards and onto a clear career path. I want an adult job, one that doesn't give the impression of being able to be performed by a pimply teenager with barely two brain cells. But I'm terrified of moving on, sealing my fate and finally acting like the adult I'm pretending I'm not. I'm worried that I will be unhappy in any other job I try, worried that as soon as I leave, that promotion I've been trying so hard for will open up and go to someone else.

I'm even considering writing fanfiction (or at least letting my plot bunnies loose on the world) which, to anyone who knows my previous attempts writing, is not a good thing. I mean, I'm in no way as talented as those on my flist, but I guess I could start striving to get better.
