Most of this journal is Friends only. I am a bit of a hermit. In my early days I was quiet, shy, and did best with those who were honest from the start. Not much has changed in those regards. I had trouble performing in public school, but had no problem with college. Until the age of thirteen rolled around I was fine with being Catholic. But religions couldn't answer the real questions and couldn't get me to the source. They are only signs pointing various ways off the sides of the road. Through tribulations and learning experiences I have turned to following my bliss. One must learn to adapt and recognize when and how to do so. Sometimes even I can do this. - Strengths:
Easily amused, always learning something new, high sense of integrity, strong, sincere, loyal, some say I'm intelligent(we'll see), a good sense of humor ;-) - Weaknesses:
Depression, anxiety, bouts of unfocused energy, not being trusting of others, eccentricity, cynicism, pessimistic at times, and all the fun side dishes that come with the aforementioned. - Special Skills:
Clarivoyance(to a degree), jumping into projects where I have to learn new skills, doing what I say I will, growing plants, binding books, generally industrious, and adaptive to conditions. - Weapons:
Hands, feet, short and long staff, stick fighting, a toothbrush, scooters, soft cushions, and a comfy chair. Some random and focused thoughts...: People forget things...so do I. People mistakenly externalize internal processes without doing the work internally...Which means they don't get it. Dare to find the fountain without someone elses lenses. The sages said, "use your own". That's the whole point damnit! "The wicked thing about both the little and the great 'collective faiths', prehistoric and historic, is that they all, without exception, pretend to hold encompassed in their ritualized mythologies all of the truth ever to be known. They are therefore cursed, and they curse all who accept them, with what I shall call the 'error of the found truth', or, in mythological language, the sin against the Holy Ghost. They set up against the revelations of the spirit the barriers of their own petrified belief, and therefore, within the ban of their control, mythology, as they shape it, serves the end only of binding potential individualsto whatever system of sentiments may have seemed to the shapers of the past (now sanctified as saints, sages, ancestors, or even gods) to be appropriate to their concept of a great society. -- Joseph Campbell, from "Myths To Live By"
