| Bio: |  My name is T.S., I’m 26 and I live in New York City. I love to read, though I’m very picky about what books I choose to devour. I mostly veer toward dark urban fantasy and children's books (middle grade and young adult), but my tastes can be very eclectic depending on the book. I also enjoy music. I can often be foudn singing at the top of my lungs (sometimes at karaoke, sometimes in public) and dancing. If I put out my hand and ask you to dance, just do it. It just means I'm going to spin you a little. I've changed a lot in the past few years. Mostly because my job (which I love) has grounded me. However, I’m still naturally a free spirit, going with the flow whenever I can. If I feel like doing something, I usually do it. However, I also have a serious side. That side is what keeps me in check, making sure I am responsible and giving me the drive to go for certain goals. The serious side often drags the free spirit down, which causes inner turmoil, but I always manage to come out of it again somehow. I’m a hard worker when I want to be, which usually coincides with work. I mostly work hard on what I am passionate about, but we won’t go into why that doesn’t seem to apply to my unwritten first novel. I have to say though, it's shocking how much of a difference loving your job can make in terms of work ethic. I’m in publishing and I have a useless Master's Degree to prove it. After a long journey, including an internship with an academic press (not my style) and a horrid job with an evil boss in a department I had no interest in, I am now a children's book editor. I wanted to read for a living and now I do. And I get to read kid's books, which is A LOT of fun. One day I also dream of becoming a best-selling author, but we'll see. Maybe I should start the book first, before I jump myself to the top of the bestseller’s list. A little about my interests that maybe the list doesn't cover. On a typical day, my biggest hobbies are reading and listening to music. I've also become a Netflix zombie lately, since I spend so much time reading for work that it feels nice to just chill out and watch whatever is in my mailbox when I get home. I also enjoy singing out loud (as I mentioned above), and I perform a really rousing rendition of 'And I'm Telling You, I'm Not Going' from Dreamgirls. I have a penchant for cheesy werewolf movies. When I go out, I like to explore different places (esp. in the city). I love to talk long walks while I become lost in thought and see where I wind up. I tend to befriend people who can be goofy, self-deprecating and humble but are at the same time serious, loyal and honest. My friends are some of the best in the world, and I know everybody says that, but I really mean it. I don't make friends with shitty people. That's just me.
