Taken from Prezaurian

1) I'm going to post up a list of 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/bands that I've had an obsessive fannish love or interest in.
2) F-list, now you try and guess my favorite character/member from each item. (And just for kicks, try to figure out my fave pairing from it too. I will mention if I don't have a favorite pairing.).
3) If you guess correctly I will strike through the item and post who guessed it, my fave character, and fave pairing.

1. Star Wars Captain Vegeta and Prezaurian have half of it, Emperor Palpatine. So it's Emperor Palpatine x ??
2. Transformers (G1 Cartoon) Jawsisstuck has half of it, Galvatron. So it's Galvatron x ??
3. G.I. Joe (Comics)
4. Tombstone
5. The Lion King (No pairing) Danihana wins with Scar
6. The Dark Knight (No pairing) Danihana wins with The Joker
7. Watchmen Prezaurian has half of it with Rorschach. So it's Rorschach x ??
8. Rocky Horror Picture Show (No pairing) Captain Vegeta has it Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
9. Transformers (Live Action Movies)</strike> Captain Vegeta guessed Megatron x Starscream for #2, but they go here! They were a close second for #2, but not quite!
10. Futurama (No pairing) Prezaurian has it right with Robot Devil.
11. Ouran High School Host Club Danihana wins with Haruhi Fujioka and Tamaki Suoh
12. Murder, She Wrote (No pairing)
13. Lucky Star Danihana wins with Akari Kogami and Minoru Shiraishi
14. Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (No pairing) Danihana wins with Cyric
15. Nightmare Before Christmas Danihana wins with Jack and Sally
16. Venture Brothers Danihana wins with The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend
17. Metalocalypse (No pairing)
18. Beast Wars (No pairing) Prezaurian got one answer with Rampage. Anyone want to try to get the other?
19. Lord of the Rings (No pairing) Danihana got one answer with Gollum/Smeagol. Anyone want to try to get the others?
20. Dragonball Z (No pairing)Danihana got one answer with Brolli. Captain Vegeta got the other one with Buu.

Some of these are gonna be really easy. A few of them are gonna be really subtle.

Also, for the last three there are a couple of different answers for each, as some days its one and on other days its another.

Cashing in on my collection. I hope.

We're trying to get to Charleston with nothing but a dream in our eyes and songs in our hearts. That's not the hard part; being able to do something while we're down there is something else! So I'm selling off some old Transformers on E-Bay. If you're interested take a look. If you're not interested take a look! Get other people to look! Don't leave me hanging!

You know you want to bid.

Writer's Block: Forgive and forget?

Gremlins Brain

Do you tend to forgive and forget or hold grudges? What is the longest you've ever stayed angry with someone? Is there anything the other person could say or do to win back your friendship and trust?

View 1515 Answers

If forgiveness is asked for, then, yes, I tend to forgive. Forget is another matter. I tend to think that in these cases that forget is actually implying "no longer dwelling upon" or "no longer actively remembering." There's a difference between a moment being wiped clean from memory and a moment no longer being held on the forefront of one's mind. In other words, I might not forget, but I no longer really care.

I guess there are some moments that happened when I was a child that I'm probably still feeling irked about, but on the list of things that keeps me up at night they are pretty low. I won't sit around for any length of time thinking about it and getting myself worked up over it. If I happen to think about it I'll shrug it off before any real anger surfaces.

I'm only 27; I'll be 28 in a month or two. I would say the majority of people who made me angry did so when we were younger, and none of us are the same people we were back then. Let's be honest, kids can be assholes. I know I did things that I wish I hadn't had done. I doubt I'm the only one. With a bit of luck people grow out of it, and what happened then is ancient history.

If the person, however, is still the same prick who pissed me off and has not changed a damn bit then its a different story. At that point, however, it's not what they did that's the main concern. It's what they are doing and will continue to do. But for the most part I'll let things go.

Life's too short, and I got too many other things to think about.

But some of the bullshit I've gone through at Clemson's Financial Aid office and at the DMV?

Those people? I'll probably die still wishing to see those people in the 9th Circle of Hell.

Ren Faire notes

So Dani and I went to Ren Faire yesterday. It was fun!

Well, it was fun, but not quite as fun as last year. Last year I dressed as a wizard and Dani dressed as a dryad. Dani got many comments on her outfit last year; myself, not as many. Which was fine, since it allowed me the chance to sneak in and bounce off the carnies.

This year I dressed as a jester and Dani was a tavern wench. Now, Dani, she can get in character and stay in character. She did this fun accent like she was a wench looking for a few more coins. But she can talk about this in her own commentary. This is about me.

I got many comments on my outfit. However, when put on the spot... I froze and couldn't come up with anything. When I did have something it went flat.

"Tell me a joke, Fool."
"One time the King and Queen had a great feast, but the Queen wanted me to test the food for poison. So I tried the stew, the bread, the drink, it was all fine. Then the Queen said, 'What of the roast pig? What of the swine?' I replied, 'He can try his own food.' Then the torturing started..."

It was slightly disheartening.

After an hour or so I went back to being my usual self (smartass), and it got to be fun.

Example: A lady was selling cappuccino.

"Jester, tell me a joke!"
"Your mom loved you."
"...that's not true! She gave me up before I was born!"

As we were getting ready to leave we decided that when we go back in a few weeks we would switch back to our old costumes. We stopped by one booth on the way out to get a souvenir.

Then something interesting happened.

Shamus the Insulter was there, and he said he liked my outfit. I said thanks, but commented that it didn't really work and I flopped at bantering.

He then offered me suggestions on what to do, what to research, and what material to look up.

Now, that was encouraging.

I might try the Jester suit again, but come in with lots and lots of weapons under the belt.

I suggested to Dani that she combine her costumes. Use the wench costume as a base, but add the accessories from her Dryad outfit.

Oh, and Ded Bob is awesome.

Obsession by no1_antielitist
Past month or so I've dropped about 25 pounds. Go me!

One thing that is creeping into the back of my mind is my widely known Diet Coke addiction.

As many of you know, I drink somewhere between 4 and 5 liters a day.

I've looked at results of "studies" on Diet drinks and weight. There seems to be a correlation but causation seems to be undetermined. It's unknown whether or not it's a matter of "It's a diet drink, so I can still have that brownie" or the lack of calories plays with your mind and metabolism. And while I don't know of any conclusive studies on the long term effects of the chemicals in a diet drink, but I'm worried that they cannot be good.

So.

Once again, I'm thinking of trying to get off diet drinks. I know I did it a few years ago for a few months, so I know it can be done.

However, if memory serves, I felt like shit during it.

Maybe it was due to other chemical changes or other things going on during the time, but I know it was rough.

Also, while I don't know the health benefits of stopping, I know from a mental stand point drinking Diet Coke keeps me calm, helps me relax, and keeps me focused.

Of course, if I stopped drinking the stuff... think of the money I would be saving (without switching to Geico!)

And I am terrible at doing things in moderation. I'm pretty binary in my habits. It's all or nothing.

So I dunno what to do.

My subconscious decided that I need to be terrorized with extreme prejudice during sleep last night/this morning. Here are the highlights.

1. I was back in my parents neighborhood. Our neighbors had a pet tiger and a pet panther that they let roam the neighborhood.

2. I was in the middle of a swamp with the cast of Jaws and a salt water crocodile was swimming around me. I held on to Kellie (our cat) to make sure she didn't get eaten.

3. Danielle, my mom, a friend of the family, and myself were trapped in the apartment during a snow storm. I braved the elements to get supplies (cat food). On the way back I was chased by three dogs who kept biting me in the ass, and the owners did absolutely nothing to help.
Candy Man!
I took this again after having a long day at work, so maybe the answers will be more honest:

I Am A: True Neutral Human Wizard (3rd Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-9

Dexterity-10

Constitution-11

Intelligence-16

Wisdom-11

Charisma-13

Alignment:
True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

Happy Jack
To [info]maggiemarmalade and [info]shortpacked:

Many wishes and thoughts to both of you today. I know my wedding day was the happiest day of my life, and I wish the same to both of you. For the past six odd years you have both been factors of my life, and it warms my heart to see you both together.

May the years you have together be blessed.

I slept wrong last night. Or maybe I have slept wrong for the past week or so, I dunno. But now my right shoulder and arm are in severe pain. I woke up at 8:30 AM this morning and could not get in any position that was comfortable. No matter how I sat or how I laid down I was in pain.

First I took Ibprofun. No help.

Next I took a Soma. No help.

I took a hot shower and tried to get the water to relax my muscles. No help.

I took a Lortab. No help, but at least the various pain killers were enough to help me sleep.

I called my mom, and she brought me a heating pad.

Between the heating pad and the medications, I was finally able to sleep a bit.

I woke up, and I'm still in pain. My arm is propped up at the moment in order to be able to use it.

Man, I am hurting. And we were gonna go to the Zoo today and go for a ride tomorrow!

Losing my touch

Galvatron Oooops
A good many of my friends I've met online, up to and including my wife. Most people know that on the surface when dealing with people on the internet, I tend to be polite up to a point. However, when provoked, I can and will tear people a new one.

Make that "would."

Last night Dani and I were playing WoW. Some random came up and asked for an invite. I said no. He then cussed us out and left, then cussed us out again when he saw us.

Now, here is the first sign that I am not myself.

I asked if he was trying to get reported.

I never do that.

He then sent me some tells cursing me out some more. For the rest of night I felt upset and didn't really want to play that character anymore, if ever again.

The jerk got to me. Jerks never get to me.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with me. I'm not acting like myself. Could it be the medication changes? I dunno.

I am going back to the doctor on Friday. While the current medication (Wellbutrin) has helped tremendously with my OCD, my depression and anxiety are back to their pre-medication levels. Last night I told Danielle that for the past week whenever I thought about something in a negative way, be stress or guilt or embarrassment or whatever, my entire would feel like it was burning.

I have not had feelings like that in five years, the time I started to take medication.

I am going to ask whether or not I can take a cocktail of medications, since the Prozac helped with the depressions/anxiety but the Wellbutrin is helping with the OCD.
