How are your powers of observation and your ability to spot a trick? This may surprise you, a simple colour changing card trick, but can you spot the switch?
It's pretty shocking to see just how illiterate my fellow countrymen are. Just looking at posts and messages from a large number of people I'm coming into contact with doing business online, I cannot help but draw the conclusion that nearly nobody in England can spell even the most basic of words, let alone punctuate or construct a sentence. I long ago gave up hopes of paragraphs. | ![]() |
It seems these days that if you can write legible English, you're probably not English. How sad is that? And what does that say about our education system? Even people that think they're bad at English do a better job than the majority of English 18-25 yr olds. Maybe I just sound old :) Kudos to all my friends of different nationalities that maybe do not realise how advanced their command of the English language actually is! | |

Here's a cool site if you live in Holland... http://www.veilingkijker.nl - it searches Speurders, Maarktplaats, eBay and tweedehands.net simultaneously! :)

| The pain, the pain. Now Microsoft is forcing companies to stop shipping Windows XP with new machines at the end of the year. They've never needed to do this before because before everyone wanted the latest Windows... But why are so few people wanting it? Basically because it's not designed for YOU, but for Microsoft's revenue streams - it's built around DRM. |

Warning! Internet Explorer Users!
If you hadn't heard this already, there is a serious security hole in Internet Explorer that, for example, allows someone to take complete control silently of your computer, just by you visiting a website or opening an email. You won't know you've been hit, and this hole has been open for MONTHS. Likely all your personal data could be stolen.
It affects Windows XP SP2 as well as Vista (supposedly the "most secure OS ever" - ha!). Play safe, use FireFox, stay the hell away from IE. Microsoft are issuing an "emergency patch" today supposedly - the first of its kind. And people wonder why I use linux :)

UPDATE: Microsoft has issued a fix, install it ASAP from here.

Ok, well I'm back for a bit here and there. Truth is I don't have much time for LJ, MySpace et al. Too busy with real life and more productive internet things. I bought a huge bloody ex-police van (oh yes) which I'm converting to a campervan. I made a webshop for my girl, I'd be very happy to hear any advice, comments or suggestions you may have on it:

Oh and now I have access to a professional-grade digital SLR, the photos will return, bigger and better than ever :) (but perhaps less frequently :S)
How are you?
