Mind me, I'm just a girl
a teenager at that.
The next generation.
The next one up to bat.
You think I'm a scum of society
a speck of dirt upon the floor
But look down and you'll see
That I'm that and so much more.
I'm the light in the tunnel
of the oncoming train.
I'm the tear from a good laugh
and the desert's rain.
I'm the girl who'll steal you're heart away
but is willing to give it back
only for you to later on
be struck by an attack.
I'm the muse before a writer's block
and the secret behind a smile
I'm not the nicotine in a cigarette
but I am the addict's denial.
I am what you expect,
but not the person that you see
because all my real intentions
are locked inside of me.
