today i feel like i dont care who wins the election.
and it has nothing to do with the election or with the country or with my huge hardon for the democratic party. or maybe more like my raging hardon for saying fuck you to the republican party... whatever.
i just feel shitty and i wish i didnt have to deal with reality.
i dont want to kill myself. i just dont want to exist anymore.
its weighing me down and its hard to move.

Note: Yes I have loved Hocus Pocus since I was about 10 years old, yes I just watched it even though I'm 25. It's a great kids Halloween movie! I try to watch it every Halloween. For some reason I've always felt the need to watch Little Monsters around this time of year too, I should rent it!

Летом создалось это существо. Название тоже само как-то родилось: Клетка для ангела на отдыхе. Поэтому крылья на плечиках отдельно висят - отдыхаем.
Голова-руки-ноги-фарфор, роспись - темпера. Остальное - текстиль, бумага. Плюс бисер, бусины. Клетка из проволоки и папье-маше.

Где-то в доме сидела наркоманка и безостановочно грустно пела. Ее голос гулял по пустым комнатам, перелетал через отсутствующие перекрытия с этажа на этаж, и понять откуда он раздается было совершенно невозможно. Он приходил то снизу, то сверху, то сзади, то слева.
Я не видел ее, я только слышал - слышал, как она влезла в дом, как поднималась по парадной лестнице, как шумела мусором в дальней комнате где-то наверху. Я и не хотел ее видеть, я только слушал. Потом было несколько несколько минут тишины, а после появился голос...

So, I finally sat down and watched the third installment to the three witches/mothers/sisters trilogy. We've waited years for the third movie and all I can really say is...meh...
I wanted so much to love Mother of Tears but I felt like it was not in the same family as Suspiria and Inferno. I kept thinking to myself, "if only Argento would have directed this 25 years ago." Inferno came out in 1980, just 3 years after Suspiria and I think if they would have made Mother of Tears 3 years after that it would have been a true triad, it would have had the same flair and feel of the first two.
With Mother of Tears, you're watching a campy, cult horror film with gore, implants and horrible eye makeup. Suspiria and Inferno are horror fairy-tales, beautiful to look at, amazing to listen to and completely entrancing.
The first two had so much in common it was almost as if you were watching an extension of the first, not a sequel.
For instance:
The same architect, Varelli, built housing for the three witches. The Mother of Sighs/Sorrow, the oldest, in Freiberg , Germany, The Mother of Darkness, the cruelest, in New York City and finally, the Mother of Tears, the most beautiful, in Rome. There are actual similarities in Suspiria and Inferno's architecture! (Well, sets anyway..)
Suspiria
Inferno
Mother of Tears is missing the mystique of the other two films. In Suspiria and Inferno we get a big reveal at the end, of course, of what we already had figured out, but there was something grand about it. Through the whole film there's whispers, secrets, suspense, not nonsense like the third film. Mother of Tears is the The Godfather Part 3 of Horror....
On a lighter note:
I found this amusing, notice the cab driver, in the rain...
Suspiria
(I've mentioned this before on my journal, but look at the back of the cab driver, notice a reflection of a certain director?)
Inferno
The only thing I can think of as to why Mother of Tears is so different, besides, of course, the amount of time that's lapsed, is the fact Dario Argento has lost his touch. I know, trust me, I hate to say it, honestly, I do. It just seems like he has made completely different films in the past 15 years from those of his earlier career and they're just not as good. I'd rather watch Phenomena or Bird With Crystal Plumage over Phantom of the Opera or The Stendhal Syndrome any day.
