For some reason, I've been very sleepy this week! My afternoons have been spent reading for my papers and napping instead of online. All in all, a much more pleasant way to spend these wonderful sunny afternoons--laying on my couch with my windows open, the sunlight streaming in and a light breeze... Ahhh, I wish I was at home instead of at work right now! In fact, maybe I'll leave early... Except I need the money. Although, as of this last pay period, I am caught up with what I owe the bank finally. No money stress for me this month!
Today I'm puzzling over my resume/CV. I have a very old resume that I used to apply for my student jobs, but I'm fearing that won't cut it. I just have no idea what I'm doing. I don't even know where I want to go, or what kind of job I want. I just want to have a plan. I'm thinking about applying for a job here in Athens running network cable and other electrical stuff. It's an entry-level position, and only need high school/GED completion, so they probably won't hire me because I'll be a college grad and they'll say something about being 'overqualified' or something. Also, since I'm a girl and the job is with the University physical plant, and most of the people that work there are old men with plumber's cracks... wait, why do I want this job anyways? It does pay 21,5-40, depending I guess on qualifications and whatnot, and that would be plenty for me, and I'd get to stay in Athens, work the job for a year or so, save money, then get a different job or go back to school or move to england or whatever. Who knows. |
